BUYER BEWARE!!!! They sold me a diamond that wasn’t certified. They oversold me on the value of it. They told me it was worth $47,500. I paid over $40k. Trying to trade up. They won’t take the diamond back (they know what they did). Other diamond experts say the diamond isn’t worth more than $15,000. They took advantage of me. DO NOT TRUST THEM! Go somewhere else!

My boyfriend surprised me with a custom made engagement ring, he worked with Morat at the Boston location. Both did such a great job! My ring came out so beautiful. I had to go back to have a bead inserted on the band and Morat was so nice and helpful. Awesome place and highly recommend going here for any jewelry.

Please do yourself a favor and protect yourself and your finances before stepping foot in this establishment and ask for a written agreement and copies of ALL your transactions (and even keep a record of your conversations). Do not trust anyone at Barmakians, specifically Murat. My fiancé and gave a deposit for our diamond here and ended up choosing a different diamond elsewhere, mainly because we were falsely mislead about the value, characteristics, and authenticity of the diamond we chose, hence why we returned it to them. At that time Murat happily agreed to refund us and apply $2000 of the total deposit to any other item(s) in the store. We just returned to pick out gifts for our loved ones overseas. When we returned, not only did Barmakians claim that they “had no record of our purchase” but they also stated that they would no longer honor their offer to apply the $2000 there. We even asked if we could apply that amount to a wedding band instead - Murat also refused and claimed that he never made such a promise to us. Gone are the days of trusting people with their word. I urge you to take your money and time elsewhere or tread very carefully should you choose to bring your business there. An engagement is an extremely special time and this has been extremely upsetting to us and we truly would not want anyone else to go through what we just went through. We are absolutely appalled and disgusted with the unprofessionalism we have dealt with, not to mention embarrassed. We were flat out lied to. I have never in my life written a review online but this type of disrespect and deceit should be made known. I hope this may offer some insight to those looking to invest a significant amount of money on a emotional purchase for a loved one. We are so very disappointed. I would highly recommend seeing Donna DePrisco including her employees Elaine and Aaron as an alternative.

After the fiasco of an experience we have had with my engagement ring, I would never recommend Barmakian to anyone. Unless you have plenty of money to blow, and are interested in buying your ring at a factors that does not value your business, I would never recommend buying an engagement ring here. Below are just a few reasons why, mostly all relating to customer service: 1. Time management - My fiance purchased my initial ring from Murat, so we were therefore only permitted to speak with him regarding any desired changes. We tried three times to go in and speak with him, each time we called ahead to make an appointment,and each time we were told we did not need one. Every time we went in we had to wait over an hour to have a conversation with Murat. This was a blatant disregard for our time, a better system is imperative. 2. Impersonal "used-car salesman" approach - I was interested in making changes to my ring, as the initial ring was set in a setting I did not like, with yellow gold prongs, which I did not feel were secure enough. Additionally, I wanted to look at other diamond shapes. Murat was happy to do this, at a cost of course. Murat charged us every step of the way, for the setting, the diamond and sales tax (AGAIN!). He up sold (over $6,000) on the same size diamond. We felt rushed in making the decision as we had already been in three times to see him and did not want to keep returning. He was so salesy through out the whole process with no consideration to the fact that my finance is 28, chose the wrong ring, and was just trying to make it right. When I talked to other jewelers, they told me had we bought it through them, they would have allowed a complimentary change in setting because that is best practice in the industry. The whole experience was disgusting. I can't stress my distaste for this place enough. THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THEM!!! Making changes will cost you!
