Barn at Windy Pine

I would not recommend this wedding venue due to the fact that the owners are inconsistent. They will tell you one thing one week, but then completely change their mind the next. They also made changes to the venue without notifying us. Thankfully they hired people other than them to work our wedding, since they were out of the county. They people they hired were outstanding to work with. They only told us six weeks our from our wedding date that some other people would be working the venue and then were extremely hesitant to give us their names and contact numbers. I also felt like they were condescending to our wedding planner who was only trying to get consistent answers out of them. We ended up spending a lot of extra money to make the venue fit our needs. If you hire them, get EVERYTHING they say you can do in writing and possibly request the John and Kenrda work your wedding. They were excellent to work with. Overall the venue is nice and they have real bathrooms, unlike many barn venues. The two side walls of the venue are plywood, so I had to pay additional to drape them because it did not look very nice. The driveway is gravel and parking is behind the house with no clear pathway for guests to get to the barn. We had to create one with lighting. The parking lighting was also a little lacking so we had a few guests use the led lanterns we purchased to help them find their way. Also know that the venue is not air conditioned and the large ventilating barn fans are LOUD. I really did not mind this but we had to turn them off during our ceremony because they were quite noisy. They also give you a very limited bartender list, but the two we hired off the list were decent. Also note that their are not any nice hotels near this venue...which is not the owners fault, but something you should be aware of if you plan on booking. We ended up booking in East Madison which was 28 minutes away from the venue and provided shuttle transportation. It is nice that you can bring in any catering company and can supply your own beverages, however the headaches their inconsistency and lack of communication caused, I would not hire them as a venue if I were to get married again.

Barn at windy pine was so accommodating and very professional. They include so many things in their price and the price is definitely reasonable compared to other local barn wedding venues. The venue is beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding!

I loved the way the venue looked for my pictures. It’s gorgeous, and awesome that the cars are well away from the photos. I also really appreciated the flexibility with vendors - you can use pretty much anyone you’d like. Things I didn’t like - the owners didn’t want to spray for wasps even after I was stung. The dismissive attitude of and criticism by one of the owners when I requested putting the bar inside the barn because it was going to be in the 40s during the reception. The venue is a great budget option, but have a thick skin, demand what you want, and be ready for them to decide that the contract says something different than the copy you have, especially if they decide to start hosting weddings on another day after you’ve signed your contract.

A great venue if you are on a budget but don't want to sThey were extremely helpful from start to finish. They gave great advice without being pushy. They were out of the way when they were not needed and ready to help when needed. They are wonderful hosts and have a beautiful location. Parking was easy for guests and I loved that the cars were not in any photos! I HIGHLY recommend this venue.
