As two people who research everything and need visuals, that made us nervous. But the team’s confidence and the work they’d done at their other venue convinced us to trust them. They exceeded every expectation. We followed their events on Instagram for months, but no photo or video can fully capture the atmosphere they created for us. We wanted an intimate New Orleans wedding, and by intimate, we absolutely did not mean quiet. We meant close, connected, full of love, and rocking all night. That’s exactly what they delivered. And Vanessa? Where do we even begin? First of all, she’s hilarious. Her personality alone is unforgettable. But she also has this almost uncanny ability to know what you need before you’ve finished explaining it. We’d be a paragraph away from getting to the point, and she had already understood, found the solution, and often taken care of it. We are not exaggerating. Vanessa’s Broadway background shows in everything: her preparation, precision, timing, and ability to orchestrate the day without ever making it feel chaotic. She made us feel like royalty. More importantly, she and her team made our parents and grandparents feel that way, too. Several relatives genuinely thought they were the only ones receiving special treatment. To make so many people feel individually cared for while managing an entire wedding is extraordinary. The reception is something we’ll never forget. Lance’s side of the family tends to be shy and reserved. But his mother, father, stepfather, and relatives were all up dancing, laughing, and celebrating. Watching everyone come together like that brought back the feeling of being a kid again, seeing family let loose in a way we hadn’t witnessed in years. That memory alone is priceless. After our second line, we trusted the DJ so much that we simply told him to read the room and play whatever would keep people dancing. He absolutely delivered. Every question and request throughout the night was handled promptly, often almost immediately. We got to actually experience our wedding rather than spend it worrying about logistics. We’re already talking about renewing our vows at The Baroness. Honestly, we’d find any excuse to celebrate there again. Vanessa and the entire team, thank you for how you treated us, how you cared for our family, and the night you gave us. You didn’t just host our wedding. The staff did an outstanding job setting up the space, keeping everything clean, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The included linens, centerpieces, and decorations were elegant and significantly reduced our stress on the big day. The ceremony was handled by the venue, and they connected us with Cameron, our officiant, who delivered a heartfelt and beautiful ceremony that had many guests holding back tears. Following the ceremony, we participated in a second-line parade through the French Quarter, which was a fun and memorable experience for us and our guests. Everyone raved about the brass band and loved celebrating together as part of such a special New Orleans tradition. We stayed in the bridal suite at the venue, and after the parade the staff had drinks and dinner waiting for us. It gave us a chance to relax, enjoy delicious food, and cool off before rejoining the reception. The food throughout the evening was exceptional, with a variety of hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, New Orleans classics, and desserts. Many guests told us it was some of the best food they had ever had at a wedding. We especially appreciated that the food stations remained open throughout the reception, allowing guests to eat and socialize at their own pace. Baroness also offered excellent accommodations for guests with allergies and dietary restrictions. As Pittsburgh natives, it was important for us to include a cookie table with our desserts, and Baroness beautifully displayed our cookies alongside the wedding cake, giving us a touch of home. Jay was our DJ, and he was fantastic. We provided only a few songs we specifically wanted to hear, and he took it from there. He played a wonderful mix of slow dances, wedding favorites, line dances, and newer music that kept everyone entertained throughout the evening. Our coordinator, Vanessa, was organized, professional, kind, caring, and incredibly reassuring. She truly went above and beyond for us and left no stone unturned. She made sure we were both well fed and always had a drink in our hands—we truly felt like royalty, LOL! Everything ran so seamlessly, and it was so nice to have literally zero worries on our special day. We ended the night with a pedicab sendoff. Our driver took us to the Riverwalk, where we captured a few final photos and enjoyed a peaceful moment together, complete with a solo trumpet player in the background. Louis, our photographer, carefully captured every detail of the day, from the food and décor to the candid moments with family and friends. He even delivered our photos in less than a week. Our wedding was truly magical, and there is not a single thing we would have changed. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Baroness, their staff, and the experience they provided. We also highly recommend staying in the on-site apartments, which were clean, spacious, and perfect for accommodating our families.
