There was a thunderstorm during our outdoor ceremony causing us to come to Barrister a few hours earlier than planned and Rita was so kind to let us take shelter there and clean up before our pictures were to be taken. The food was awesome, the bartender was a ROCKSTAR and the servers packed us up so much food which was totally unexpected but much appreciated. My only complaint is that once the reception began, we couldn't locate someone who could assist with the temperature of the room so it did get quite hot and a lot of guests were sitting outside but other than that, (to be fair, there was also another wedding going on so it's possible that could have been tending to them) I'd recommend them to anyone!

I truly believe choosing Barrister Gardens was the best choice for us and am so thankful for their stuff and their administration to work out all the details. they even were able to accommodate vegetarian options for more than 100 attendees out of 300. Great job Barrister Gardens and Malik.

d the ballrooms have bright white walls and flooring that make it easy to create any look you want. The bar has been modernized as well and is pretty large, so there were no long bar lines or congestion around the bar area all night. I worked with Alexis, the owner’s daughter, to book the first two ballrooms for my wedding. I had enough room for 180 guests, a vendor table, photo booth, gift table, sweets table, cake table, and sweetheart table on a platform with plenty of room for guests to move around. Alexis was very helpful and flexible. It was easy to change things up until the final count was due and I even talked with the chef for an hour as he helped me understand the best menu options for what I wanted to achieve. I selected the NY strip steak for my beef option, the Marsala chicken for my chicken option, garden salad with house dressing, and pasta with olive oil and garlic. You also get a full bar for the entire 6 hours. You can upgrade the bar, but we went with the standard full bar and guests were very happy. Everyone said the food was really good and the servers were organized and responsive. The room looked amazing decorated and Alexis checked on us periodically throughout the night (we also had our own day of coordinator). If you are looking for a modern venue, with reasonable prices, good food, and the flexibility to create your own unique wedding vision, Barrister Gardens is a great choice! The only two areas I would recommend for improvement are the approach to the food tasting and providing steak knives if people select the NY strip steak option. My tasting was not until two weeks before my wedding and I had to call to inquire about it. Waiting until that close to the wedding date may be too stressful for some brides. Scheduling the tasting soon after a deposit is put down would be beneficial so couples can finalize their menus, include the specific entree selections in the invitations, and order their menu cards earlier. With regards to the steak knives, I am not sure if it was just oversight, but none of the guests had them for their steak. I had to ask one of the servers to bring my husband one for his steak. The server was prompt and brought one right away for my husband, but the guest only had their regular knives to use on the steak. It didn’t stop anyone from eating the steak, but if you opt for the NY strip steak option, make sure you requests for all guest who select he steak option to have steak knives. Overall, it was still a great venue and Alexis was awesome to work with!
