ening to their video. Sterling was phenomenal!!!! Their music and sound was perfection ! Our guest couldn't stop talking about how amazing they were. They were professional and never tried to steal the show or make themselves the center of attention . They also always had someone on the stage playing music, the bandmembers did not take a break all at once leaving the stage empty.
Barry himself was very easy to work with especially in answering phone calls and rescheduling due to Covid.
For anyone getting married at Crystal Plaza ,or any other NJ venue, Barry Herman has been a preferred vendor for over 33 years! He knows the acoustics of the room and makes sure all his bands sound amazing!!!!

Our date was almost two years away, but, I said to my now husband Tom, let's at least get a feel for what is involved for the ceremony and rest of the party. I emailed Barry back, and we started our very friendly email conversation. each of his emails closed with an no obligation, no high-pressure invitation to visit him. No time to do that I thought, let's keep going by email. After several more emails We agreed to visit with Barry.
We never realized how much information Barry gave us that we never considered. We left feeling
very excited, and had lots of fun things to think about. And true to his word no high-pressure. I could have saved so time had I not tried to do it by email.
A short time after our visit we did booked the band STERLING.
The wedding was all we hoped for. Romance, Fun, and a band that knew how to get and keep guests of all ages on the dancefloor. When we returned from our honeymoon my Mom told us, how many guests commented on the great music and vocals, and remarked "it was a pleasure not to have to scream at each other during dinner."
We want to thank Barry and Cherie (she runs the office) for making the music such an easy and happy part of our planning

They had our 80 year old Grandparents up and dancing. I can't say enough about the wonderful way the fit our requests into the flow of the evening. What a great band!
The way the office personnel treated us, especially Sheri, you'd think we were spending a "king's ransom" Of course we didn't. Sheri just could not do enough for us.

ony, they perfectly set the tone with our special selected songs and I will truly never forget them playing somewhere over the rainbow as I walked down the aisle. At the reception, they kept our guests dancing the whole night! They read the crowd perfectly and the night flowed without any lulls or random songs we didn't like or know. I have never been to a wedding that had a better band and kept guests out on the dance floor better than this- they exceeded our expectations. Finally, Barry was very helpful and accommodating throughout our entire planning process.

Our wedding could not have gone more smoothly, thanks to Barry Herman Entertainment and his band Cashmere. From the moment, they began playing at the cocktail party...
the room became electric. Just the right volume so you could talk to guests. and when we went into the ballroom, when the full band was playing it was amazing. They played for every age group and had the dance floor jumping all night long. Our friends told us they couldn't believe how they made each style so authentic. From Classic Rock to Motown, to Sinatra and then to top 10 hits everything sounded like the original.
They never stopped. Live music was always playing, even during the dinner, they had wonderful background music going.
We stretched our budget to have live music and it was worth every penny.

with Neil at length about what music we liked and disliked and I was so happy he was able to find our first dance song since it's not the most popular song. He knew very well how to work the crowd and had all of us dancing. The main reason we chose Neil is because he can sing (very beautifully by the way) and this was such a nice way for us to enjoy our dinner. I would definitely recommend him for parties; it was really easy to work with him. When I had my initial meeting with Barry I liked that I was able to see videos of several DJs and was given several package options to chose from. I had an easy time working with Barry Herman Entertainment which I really appreciated since it relieved stress from the overall wedding planning process.
If there is one song that you want to be the most incredible, the most well done and memorable at your wedding, it would be the first dance as husband and wife. It took every fiber...
of my being to not cry during my first dance, because the band played it so terribly. It was almost like none of the band members knew the song, had never heard it, had never even practiced it until they played it at my wedding reception. They were off-key, off-beat and just overall completely botched it. I even had guests come up to me later in the evening and days after the wedding, and ask me if the band knew the song, it was that bad. The band was Fantasy, and I also have to say that the members of the band who played on my wedding night were NOT the same members in the video that I watched when my husband and I chose them the year prior. I recognized very few of them, and that was extremely disappointing. The LEAST you could do is tell the bride and groom that they would not receive the exact same people that they were expecting. The only reason for the 3-star rating is because they were decent throughout the rest of the night with everything else that they played. I would not book this band again, and I will probably never use Barry Herman again because I am so highly disappointed in this entire situation.

clips, and they surpassed all expectations. They sounded great musically, the vocalists were excellent, and they were able to perform a wide range of styles equally well. But their talent went beyond musical performance. Their timing was perfect, and their sets were put together so effectively that everyone was on the dance floor all night. And perhaps most importantly for me, they understood that their role was to be the catalyst to make the party great, but the stars of the evening were the bride and groom and all their guests. They never tried to claim the spotlight for themselves or over-manage the party or the dancing. They were such great performers that the partying and dancing all happened organically, as they should!
We had several musicians among our guests, including two or three professionals, and all agreed Sterling was a great band! Thanks so much for helping to make our kids' wedding a night to remember.

during the ceremony, to the keyboardist who played renditions of classic hits like "It's a wonderful world", to the DJ during the party. Our musicians were very professional and friendly, and our interactions with Barry Herman himself were also very courteous, friendly and professional. The one critique I can offer was that we did not feel that we were not kept in the loop at all times on when our payments were due, and we received a final payment notice that was very close to the due date. It turned out that we were fine on our payments and didn't owe any balance, but this feeling added slightly to our stress in the run up to the wedding. All is well that ends well though, and this vendor deserves the highest of praise!

As professional musicians, we had high standards, especially for live music, and the cocktail hour duo was great. We were concerned as well about getting guests to dance, considering it was an afternoon party. DJ Neil kept everyone on the dance floor the whole time. His Caribbean number "Don't Stop the Carnival" was a hit, as was his singing during the meal. Neil was in close contact with us in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and it paid off -- all difficult name pronunciations and particular song requests were perfect.
It was as smooth a wedding party as we could have had, and we owe much of this to the professionalism and high quality of the musicians we hired through Barry Herman. Barry himself was delightful to work with -- organized, courteous, and reliable. We give Barry Herman Entertainment our highest recommendation. Thank you!!

We also hired the harp and flute for our ceremony, which sounded beautiful :) We enjoyed working with Barry Herman (and that's mostly who we talked to with planning), he's very accommodating and attentive to his clients. I actually ended up calling him on vacation by accident (oops!), but he still called the office and took care of my request as soon as he returned. We were not disappointed. The band was outstanding. They displayed great musical talent and performed with enthusiasm. They also provided that personal touch with the bride and groom and families that makes it so much nicer. We received many compliments on our selection of the band.
One of the comments that many people made were that they did not try to overpower the room with volume so that it was hard to hear anything else. They were, in a word, perfect.
While I don't anticipate having to hire a band in the New Jersey area in the immediate future, I would not hesitate to go with this band, or one of the other bands that work with Barry Herman Entertainment.

We wanted a wedding with traditional Jewish music as well as American music. Our three piece band was a delight, young and old, Jewish and Non-Jewish were complimenting our choice of entertainment after the event. I initially wanted a very simple wedding with just a guitarist. As the guest list and style of the party evolved during the planning stages, Barry was flexible and extremely helpful in guiding us in regards to the entertainment. He takes a vested interest in party entertainment, treating each event as if it were his own wedding. We described what we were interested in and he naturally knew and understood the best direction to take. My mother had recommended him because his company provided the entertainment for her own wedding back in 1974.
