I booked this venue 2.5 years ago without seeing it in person, I just had a feeling this was the one. When I was able to visit, I was not disappointed. Pictures don't do it justice. The property, each house is STUNNING. On top of the fact that the property is immaculate, the owner Michelle is the cherry on top. She's like a wedding mom. She is honest, works with you and truly wants you to have the best day of your life. This property is magical, but I think it's the people that running it that make the warmth of home. My guests were stunned by this venue, it was worth every penny. And if I had to do it again, I would pick the same venue every time. Michelle, THANK YOU.

We got married at Basil Place on May 25, 2024 and it was the most fun day of our lives. We were able to stay overnight at Basil with our wedding party which made it an even better decision. Plus, getting to bring our stuff from home earlier in the week was such a stress reliever.

ver the last two years and she has truly become family. She gave me her personal cell phone number to be able to call her whenever I needed to. She always answered emails and phone calls in a timely fashion. The venue itself is so beautiful and such a great place for anyone who wants to have all of their wedding celebrations in one place. It is clean, modern, and very well-kept. Every time I was there people would be working on the yard, etc. This is a very large property but they do a phenomenal job keeping up with it and making it beautiful all year round. Michelle was so helpful during wedding week and let me come and go as I pleased, even when there were other weddings (but making sure to respect the other weddings going on). We did a lot of game planning together and again, I truly feel like she's family at the end of this process. I really wanted to work with someone personable and made it feel like home and that's exactly what it was. The food (through taste of excellence) was fantastic which is their required vendor. On our wedding day, it literally rained all day. Michelle knew how much I wanted an outdoor wedding on their beautiful property and when it was go time for the ceremony, she was literally outside with a leaf blower trying to dry the chairs for us. She told us "we are going to make this happen for you I promise." And it sure did. Because of the staff there, we had the wedding of our dreams. We ran out of vodka pretty early in the night and Michelle went to the store and got us some. I really don't know of any other venue that would do this. I am so sad my time with Michelle and Basil Place is over because it was an unbelievable experience. I would recommend them to anyone in the world.

wner, is helpful and responsive. I was a little unsure about the required vendors: Taste of Excellence (catering) and The Thirsty Philly (bar), but both exceeded ALL expectations. The food and drink were phenomenal. No regrets—except you probably need the carriage house, otherwise there isn’t a ton of space to get dressed beforehand. This place was a bit of a drive but SO more than worth it. Such a special day!

ocktail hour, reception, and overnight stay all at the venue. It was so nice that we were able to have all of our events at one location and that we were able to stay at the venue the whole weekend long. It made it so easy for our wedding party, close family, and us to have an easy going and joyful weekend altogether!
Michelle, the owner and coordinator of Basil Place was more than accommodating of our needs, she went above and beyond for us! She was always there answering all of our questions, let us set up early on the Friday before, allow us to bring our dogs, and even allow us to incorporate our very own tradition on the grounds of the venue! We got to be the very first couple to start the "Buried Bourbon Tradition" at Basil Place. The tradition is to bury a bottle of bourbon on the grounds of your wedding venue, a month before your date. Once the ceremony is over, the couple digs up the bottle and shares a celebratory drink with the wedding party and family. The tradition says it will bring good weather and good luck. It truly did bring us lots of luck, because it poured for hours before our ceremony. It stopped raining about 30 minutes before guests arrived, the sun came out, and we had a perfect rest of the day!
We LOVE Basil Place so much and we truly had the best wedding weekend!

ble in setting up tours for my family and fiancé when we got into town. First, I'll speak about the venue itself: it is absolutely the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The whole farm is surrounded by beautiful nature, trees, and ponds, and rolling pastures. We were able to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony, get ready in the carriage house, and use the manor house for pictures, hanging out, and pre-wedding snacks. Our reception was in the barn, which is so gorgeous and opens up onto a patio with views of rolling fields and reflecting ponds (which are stocked with bass if you feel like fishing like some of our guests did!) There was so much space for our reception we were able to set up cornhole and spikeball outside the barn which made for such a fun evening. Our guest loved taking pictures all around the property. I cannot say enough good things about how perfect this venue was for our wedding!
I also have to mention how absolutely wonderful and above and beyond Michelle and her staff were throughout every step of the wedding process. Michelle truly feels like family to us. She made the process so easy and was so accommodating to all of our requests. She checked on us so many times leading up to and the day of the wedding- we truly felt so taken care of It is so apparent that this is not just a business to her, but truly her passion.
Their preferred caterer, A Taste Of Excellence, was hands-down the best experience with a caterer we've ever had. Mikaela was so kind and flexible, and the food was absolutely to die for we were so impressed with them that we had them cater our welcome dinner as well. They do so many weddings at basil place that they are very familiar with set up and where to go, which makes for that much smoother of a day. All the catering staff were so kind and friendly and added to the positive atmosphere.
In summary, if we could go back in time, we would choose Basil Place 100 times over!!

king sure that we were happy leading up to the big day. The groom & groomsmen got ready in the manor, utilizing the Bourbon Room (and the TV room) and the bride & bridesmaids got ready in the Carriage House (which met all the getting ready needs). Michelle even unlocked a secret staircase so the bride could sneak into the manors 2nd floor for our first look on the master staircase. Having the ceremony on the dock was incredible. Guests had a clear view of the entrances and the entire ceremony. Having cocktail hour in the basement worked perfectly to give people the option of staying inside or going out to the patio and sit at the bistro tables. This place is made for pictures. The dock, the manor, the carriage house, the woods, the barn were picture perfect.
The barn for the reception was amazing. Pictures don't do it justice as to how much room you get.
Michelle and the staff worked hard the week before to set up the tables and made sure it was exactly what we wanted. The forecast called for rain in the morning so Michelle and the staff waited until it stopped before setting up chairs for the ceremony and I have never seen such quick and efficient work. She worked with our vendors to make sure any question about set up, take down etc was answered. 100 times over would recommend.
