From the get go, Alex was so organized, professional, and friendly. He made us feel at ease with everything. He understood the vibe we wanted at our wedding and delivered. Everyone complimented how great the music was at our wedding, with one of our guests saying it was the best music he's ever heard at a wedding. Everyone danced and sang the whole night. He seamlessly incorporated all of our musical tastes into the night, with great throwbacks to the 90s and 2000s, some pop, hip hop, house, cumbia, reggaeton, salsa, and Vietnamese songs. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ and person to MC/DJ our wedding. 100% recommend.

Stellar DJ. The dance floor was full all night, folks loved the music selection (nearly all the song choices were great), and in particular Alex had stellar transitions between the various songs. Book with confidence.

So so so happy I found Alex! He made everything so easy. His online portal let's you get into specifics and really plan every special moment with the music to match. I give Alex a lot of credit with how perfectly he picked up on our vibe; especially since we were not very forthcoming with the kind of music we like, or the artists, because we're big "genre" people and just let pandora play, haha. Despite our lack of direction (sorry, Alex) he killed it. Great night. Great music. Only good things to report!

These guys were great. They had everything super organized. They listened to everything we wanted. Loved their website- it was the most thorough thing we say between all our vendors. We put in EXACTLY the music we wanted (and didn't want). Dj Sean was who we got as our wedding DJ and he was very upbeat and had a great attitude. Also he wasn't cheesy which was a big thing for us. Pulled together an excellent elegant playlist for our ceremony, dinner and took all sorts of requests during our late dancing party. Thank you so much guys - you made our wedding day so special!

We had a blast with Alex as our wedding DJ. He took the time to see our venue and get to know our song preferences well before the wedding so that everything went smoothly on the big day. Throughout the night, he was able to read the crowd and adapt the music to fit the vibe and keep the party going. He even worked in a joke outro song for one of the wedding party's speeches that we thought was hilarious! Everyone said it was the most fun wedding they've ever attended. I'd highly recommend choosing Alex as your DJ!

Alex is a true pro! He was always on time, had great communication throughout the entire process, was easy and fun to work with, and not only was he organized the whole way through the planning - he really created a party vibe on the night of the wedding! We were the couple that said “nobody at our wedding will dance” and throughout the night the dance floor was never empty. All of our guests had a great time and even commented on how good he was as a DJ and MC that day. We also got the uplight package and felt like it really made a difference in the ambiance of the evening. We had to move our ceremony indoors due to bad weather and Alex was accommodating and prepared ahead of time. Would give him 5 stars from beginning to end and would highly recommend!

Alex was an incredible DJ for our wedding! From the very beginning he was extremely professional and organized. He walked us through his online portal which was easy to use, and met with us before the wedding to really understand our event and the vibe we were going for. His communication was perfect and he took so much stress out of the planning stage. During the event he was super easy to work with and provided our coordinator and officiant a seamless experience. He hit all the cues during the ceremony and played the perfect mix during the reception. Literally every song was on point. We also rented the photo booth which was such a hit. Josiah was our DJ for a large wedding welcome party we had and immediately knew what type of music / vibe we were going for. He did a terrific job with the playlist and transitions, and we constantly had people coming up to my wife and I asking who the DJ was and if he had a playlist they could find! The music for our wedding reception was one of the most important things we wanted to nail, and Alex from Bass & Bliss straight up delivered! He was super organized and communicative leading up to the big day, providing a portal where we could submit our music selections for key moments and give him an idea of our music tastes. We were most impressed by his ability to read the crowd and adjust. Once he saw how our guests were loving all the early 2000s hip hop, he catered to the vibe and kept the party going strong all night! Alex is a talented DJ, and we highly recommend working with him for any event.

From the moment we hired Bass and Bliss, we experienced nothing but great communication, amazing services and fair pricing! Alex and Sean made our entire musical process easy and more importantly, fun! The online system made music planning feel effortless. The database was not only easy to navigate, but allowed us to include any detail (big or small) that we wanted. We had multiple communications with both Alex and Sean, who made every effort to ensure that our day went smoothly. They even reached out to our venue ahead of time to finalize any details. On the day of, my guests had nothing but compliments for Sean! He was entertaining without being overbearing, and kept our guests on the dancefloor all night long (seriously, I had to kick everyone out because they wouldn't leave!). If I had to do it again, I would absolutely hire Bass and Bliss!

Alex was AMAZING! Having a good DJ was such a necessity for our wedding, and Alex surpassed our expectations. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable leading up to the wedding, which we really appreciated. On the day of the wedding, he made everything run so smoothly and just perfected the vibe we were going for. In my vows, I mentioned that my husband was a Red Sox fan. Alex picked up on that and played "Sweet Caroline" just for him, which was a huge hit for my husband and all our friends. I really appreciated that moment because it showed how much Alex was paying attention to each detail to make sure our wedding was as personalized as possible. 95% of people were on the dance floor all night long (even the older folks), which is exactly what we wanted. We got so many compliments on the music and many people told us it was the best wedding they've been to! Would highly recommend Alex to anyone and everyone!

Bass and Bliss was amazing! Very organized and helped us to make sure all the boxes were checked. They provided lots of check ins, a venue walk through and even fed the hungry swans during the ceremony so they would not be a distraction. The music all night was spot on! Holy MOLY. Alex was PERFECT in every single way as a DJ and a MC. He made the planning process so fun and made it very clear he is not the traditional DJ.. and we loved that! Everyone was talking about how good the music was and he truly nailed our vibe so perfectly. He had all of the young crowd and the older crowd on the dance floor the entire time. The mash ups were so original and cool. Seriously everyone would not stop talking about the music. The up-lights also added such a vibe to the venue and I highly suggest you add those onto your package. This was not something I wanted to splurge on but trust me they are worth it! They really made the whole terrace look magical. Alex did not miss a single music cue for ceremony, cocktail hour, & reception and was so clear and concise with directions for our guests. We booked Bass & Bliss for our wedding in Indian Wells and DJ Alex was fantastic! The whole planning process was very smooth and easy. Alex's response time was quick and he made sure to follow-up with detailed questions to make sure that everything happened as planned. We also purchased the uplighting package, and Alex did a great job of lighting the room. The day of our wedding, Alex was great as well! Alex did an absolutely phenomenal job. He had 3 set-ups, one for ceremony, cocktail/afterparty, and reception and he made sure he was keeping the music going wherever the party was supposed to be. I got tons of compliments on the music from my guests who were dancing all night. He took all of our input and music requests from his super easy to use portal and turned it into a memorable playlist. I would recommend him for any wedding. Complete professional and adaptable to any situation you need to make your party great.

So even though we did not end up going with this vendor (ended up with a close contact to our planner), I just wanted to leave a review for the portion of the process that we did go through. Alex reached out to us promptly after I contacted him regarding our wedding in December. He supplied a helpful brochure and set us up with a zoom call. He proceeded to walk us through the entire process and had a presentation that answered most of my questions before I even asked them. I really appreciate his professionalism, and I would recommend his services to anyone who asked!

Alex, owner of Bass & Bliss was an exquisite DJ/MC for our wedding back in May. His preparation and communication exceeded our expectations. Alex sought to understand the vibe that we were looking for and also honed in on what we did not want as well. I have actually seen Alex Updike at TWO weddings (mine and a coworkers). Let me say that this man has range! His knowledges transcends various music genres and is an expert at reading the crowd. We booked Bass & Bliss for our wedding in Joshua Tree and Alex Updike could not have been better to work with!!! His second Dj Sean was the one who worked our wedding and he absolutely killed it!! We told him the vibe and had some songs we definitely wanted played and it was perfect. He listened to our requests and understood the assignment. We had several songs that we wanted to start at certain times and even our first dance song we wanted mashed up with another and he mixed it beautifully! The dance floor was going off!!!! I had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding that Alex Updike DJ-ed a few weeks ago and loved working with him! Alex was our DJ and MC for our wedding at Feast and Fareway in Coronado on Oct 2nd 2021. We knew he would be the perfect DJ for us when we heard one of his wedding mixes on Instagram. When our original DJ unfortunately backed out fairly close to our wedding date, Alex jumped in without hesitation and was an absolute lifesaver. He was flexible, easy to work with and understood exactly the vibe we were going for. The perfect DJ Planning any event can be a pain in the neck, from catering to music it can all be overwhelming. We planned our wedding and discovered Alex on Yelp. Wasn’t hard to find out why he is the number one listed DJ on Yelp for the Palm Springs area. From our first meeting we knew Alex was the right guy for the job; professional presentation and breakdown of his services and left us with all our questions answered. From there he gave us access to a client portal where we entered all of our event details and he can get an idea of the music we like and plan accordingly. On the day of the even from the minute Alex arrived at the venue I felt at ease as he’s preforming a basic mic check but the attention to detail floored me as I’m getting ready to put on my Tuxedo. The start of the event went so smoothly and at no point did we stress over the presentation or music throughout the night. Alex flowed the music to perfection and had the guests on the dance floor until the very end. I couldn’t ask for a better DJ/Host/Person Alex also helped us with the photo booth and the photo operator was a pleasant host to our guests and took great pictures.

Alex was beyond a DJ to us! The wedding industry is full of vendors who claim great service and hospitality, but MANY fall few and far between their claims of being great. Alex was our light at the end of the tunnel through our pandemic wedding! We had signed our contract with our Venue just before the pandemic, and boy was it a wild ride! Alex was one of our vendors who stuck with us through it all, being more than flexible, and even lent a helping hand when our Venue was being beyond difficult. We went from having a wedding to basically a large dinner party a few days before the wedding and Alex had no fear he would make it great no matter what the circumstances! And he did! Thank you Alex times a million for being not only a fantastic DJ but a great person!

We could not be happier to have had Alex as our DJ! He made the evening such a success and emceed the wedding making everything run so smoothly.. Before the wedding he talked to us about what kind of music we like and really got to know us and what we were looking for. He was so clam and helpful when an outlet issue occurred before the ceremony, and kept everyone calm. The cocktail hour music was so fun and exactly what we were looking for. His reception music was so awesome I didn't want to get off the dance floor because we were all having so much fun. Alex gets 10 stars from us. Choosing him will be one of the best decisions you make!

Hired to do ceremony and reception. Best decision I made. What a professional! There is more to DJ-ing than providing awesome music and reading the crowd (I had no idea how much! ) which is exactly what he did. Had to change date twice and he made it so easy. He worked with coordinator so well (she also raved about him); was attentive to the time line. Bottom line; he’s amazing and you will not have a worry when you get him for your event. He only gets 5 stars bc 10 is not an option.

Alex was the DJ for our wedding and he hit all the key points and more! The photo booth and dance floor were major hits at the wedding. Everything went so well. He created an awesome mix of old and new music for all of our guest and even went along with our wild ideas. We couldn’t be happier with the experience!

We had a last minute request and it was thoroughly done for us by Alex, our surprise dance mashup was well put together.. we are extremely happy we found the perfect DJ for our wedding.. no complains at all!

Alex is amazing!! He was truly was so great to work throughout our entire wedding planning, and he delivered exactly as we had hoped on our wedding night. During planning, he answered all our questions so quickly, and was calm and cool and collected and professional throughout everything. He provides a template/questionnaire so he knows exactly what you're looking for. Even better, if you're someone who doesn't know a ton about music, he'll take the reins. If you're someone who wants a lot of control, he's happy oblige and play whatever you and you want. Couldn't recommend more if you want a seamless planning and night of great music at your event/wedding!

DJ Alex was so easy to work with! He was able to meet with us before the wedding and finalize the details even though both our schedules were pretty tight for the holidays. He was very knowledgeable in music and he was able to play everything that I had requested. He helped our wedding become as lively as we wanted it to be! Our timeline was compromised from the beginning and he helped us get everything back on schedule. I loved his setup for the reception also. Everybody had a blast that night! I definitely recommend him.
