aged for 3. I was always very vocal about wanting to get married but not wanting to plan a wedding. What initially started out as a simple private ceremony & small get together at my husband’s favorite Henderson Harbor spot spiraled. Before I knew it, I was planning a backyard ceremony, a wedding reception for 100 people & we were 3 months away. I was full of anxiety, making lists, watching social media reels, looking at Pinterest, ordering things on Etsy. I needed sleep & someone to organize us. We just didn’t know what we didn’t know – we needed a wedding planner. I immediately set up consultations with 4 – Jaynie was my 2nd meeting & I knew she was our person. During that conversation, Jaynie eased my stress by being prepared, offering ideas & solutions to the things I was worried about. When she asked a question & I said, “I don’t know” (Admittedly, I said that a lot) Jaynie was quick to come back with “how about this?” or “how about that?” Communication was excellent, her ideas amazing & she solved every single problem that came up with speed, professionalism & a dose of much needed comic relief. Our backyard ceremony was beautiful, the flowers & décor were perfect, she made our guests feel like they were there for a truly special event (hello, champagne welcome drinks). Jaynie also made the most adorable baby’s breath collar for our Black Lab Archie – you can check him out if you follow Basswood Events on Instagram, which I highly recommend! Jaynie handled our wedding reception, 2 weeks later, with the same ease. She efficiently turned a restaurant into a wedding venue, despite the many obstacles in the way. During the party, Jaynie jumped in helping the servers, filing water glasses etc. She would also randomly but stealthily appear asking us if we ate, if we needed a drink, did we have cake? Having Jaynie there allowed me to spend the day visiting with my best friends – it was one of the most special times of the day & I got to have that because of Jaynie. I am emotional just thinking about it, the day goes by so fast so to be able to have that time was such a gift. I guess this was a long-winded way of saying hiring Basswood Events was the best decision I made! Along with communicating with my other vendors to come up with the perfect timeline for my day, she had incredible items available to rent that just made the “look” of my day that much better! All the items we rented were already waiting at our venue when we arrived to set up, and it was so helpful to not have to worry about this piece fitting into the puzzle. aynie was able to create the wedding that we have always wanted. She listened to every single detail and always responded quickly to my messages with new ideas and thoughts. We were not stressed about the wedding one bit. What made the day of the wedding so great was that I was able to get ready and enjoy my morning with my girls without even thinking about preparation for the wedding. We let Jaynie have a lot of control over the design, and we had no idea how beautiful it would actually be. When we saw the final result (which was when we walked up the stairs during our announcement as newly weds at the reception), we were in total shock. We put a lot of trust in Jaynie to make the day beautiful, and it was. She also took so much stress of our families because she had everything coordinated. We didn't have to worry about running around the week of the wedding getting things done, and we couldn't thank her enough for it. ttings and decor, their were so many options to choose from. Our preferences were always taken into consideration and great suggestions were offered when requested. Our wedding was held at Izzo’s White Barn Winery as we loved the barn feel for our venue. We will never forget that moment that we looked through the barn doors and saw the transformation. She was flexible with the rentals and even met us as the venue the day before hand to work out the nitty-gritty details. She worked well with the other vendors (and got there early!) to make sure every task was covered and delegated so that we didn't have to worry a few hours before the ceremony, especially given the quick turnover time at our venue. I would definitely recommend her and her services to any other person out there!
