Bruce was so fun and easy to work with - from our initial phone call with him, we knew he was the best DJ for us. He had a laid back but professional attitude and we clicked with him right away. Throughout the planning process, Bruce was very good at taking notes and listening to what we wanted. He uses a software that is easy to follow to add all of our songs - my only comment would be to make it a little easier to add songs. For 50% of the songs, I had to find them and put the link in even though they are common songs...they just wouldn't appear in his software when I searched...Otherwise, it was easy to use! Bruce set up several calls with us leading up to the wedding to make sure he had the timeline, names, etc. down to a T. And it was all worth it, because he did a great job on the day of! We had a very busy wedding with lots of moving parts, but Bruce did a great job with keeping up and getting everything right! He was accommodating to all of our crazy requests, even when we decided to give all of the wedding party couples their own choice of "walk up songs" for the grand entrance only a week before the wedding...and Bruce made it happen! Overall, we can't thank Bruce enough for all he did for us. Thank you Bruce!

DJ Bruce was fantastic as our wedding DJ! He was laid back, gave us space to do whatever we wanted but also guided us and answered all of our questions. He is very personable and fun. He made the whole process very easy for us and made the actual wedding night so much fun! He was always on top of things and played everything at the right time and in the right order. I would highly recommend using Bruce as your DJ for any event or party!

I wish I could give 10 stars for the services I received from DJ Bruce from our very first interaction to my wedding day! Bruce was very responsive and he understood the assignment! My family is Mexican, and my husband's family is Persian and he played the perfect mix of both types of music at my wedding in addition to the best hip-hop booty shakers. I have received tons of compliments from my guests about how fun the dance floor was. At one point, my boss told me it was the first wedding he's been to where he saw every single person on the dance floor the entire night. It has been so great to hear how much fun my guests had and I give my compliments to the best DJ! Hire him!

Bruce is so easy to work with! Before your event he wants to know exactly what you want so he will meet with you to nail down everything. He is also super experienced so if he thinks the timing of something will clash he will let you know. For example we were thinking of putting speeches before the meal but he suggested doing them after just in case they go long and the food goes cold. Little things like that make a difference for your guests. The music is also amazing! The dance floor was never empty and everyone was having a good time. Definitely book Bruce for your next event!

Could not recommend Battleson Entertainment enough! Hiring a DJ/Emcee can be one of the most difficult parts of planning a wedding since a website or phone call doesn't give you the full experience of what you'll be getting. We were lucky enough to have attended a wedding where Bruce was the DJ which made our decision so easy. He was great at that wedding yet he still surpassed our expectations for our own wedding. After booking with Bruce he quickly sent over various questionnaires to give us the opportunity to set the tone for what we expected from him on wedding day. One of the best questions he asked is how we want our guests to perceive him at the wedding (funny, professional, behind the scenes, energetic, etc). We wanted someone that kept the night moving along but wasn't too in your face/center of attention at that's exactly what we got. Bruce has so much experience and really is able to give off the exact vibe that you want from him. We were also able to select all of the music for various parts of the day/night and also felt confident giving him free reign where we saw fit. Our ceremony was outdoors on a terrace overlooking a somewhat busy street and a bay with large cruise ships. Bruce arrived early and tested his audio for an hour or so to make sure that there wouldn't be any interference from the wind or any of the ships. He really went above and beyond to ensure that our guests could hear us and that the audio for our video would be perfect. We had so many of our guests compliment how great Bruce was not only as a DJ keeping the dancefloor packed, but also as an Emcee during the reception introducing all of the key parts and people to the guests. No need to feel stressed or worried about hiring a DJ because Bruce/Battleson Entertainment will meet and even surpass your expectations!

Bruce was absolutely the best!! He was so easy to work with from start to finish and easy to talk to!! We had so much fun planning our music with him. He literally made our wedding such a party! Everyone complimented the music! He added in all of our requests and was always honest with suggestions as well. Highly, highly recommend him! My husband and I closed out the dance floor on our wedding night with some of our closest friends and it was one of our highlights!!

We all know your DJ is either going to make or break your dance floor and DJ Bruce is the best!! Bruce makes the planning process so easy. He was super responsive and had so many great ideas if you don’t want to be the bride and groom that pick everyone song for cocktail hour, dinner, etc. The portal he uses is a clients dream. Not to mention the dance floor was packed every.single.song at our wedding. Omg it was so fun!!!! Important to note, too, Bruce is very reasonably priced for everything he does (my husband and I are accountants, I can’t help it). He was literally at our wedding all day and made sure everything went seamless. Thanks for everything, Bruce!!

Bruce was so much fun! He helped us provide all the sound equipment for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and was a great MC as well as DJ. His online system was easy to use and perfect in making sure he had the correct versions of every song that we wanted to use on our big day. And most importantly, he laughed and partied along with us the whole night! Thank you for keeping the party going and for making a small party feel like a large one.

We knew Bruce was the DJ for us from the get go. From our first phone conversation with him, we could tell his energy and kindness were exactly what we wanted at our wedding. He knew exactly what questions to ask, and what questions we would have. He made us feel confident when speaking about the wedding. His website made us very hands on in the selection of the music. It was well organized in determining the different parts of the wedding, and ensuring that the songs that we wanted were played at specific points of the wedding. His website also included helpful suggestions for parts of the wedding we weren't sure how to choose music for. The day of the wedding, he ensured everything sound wise went perfectly. He had the perfect amount of speakers and sound equipment. At no point did we feel any lulls. Bruce caught the ambiance of the wedding exactly as we wanted. Bruce even went above and beyond, when our wedding schedule got a bit off the rails towards the end, and he stayed an extra hour for us. We are truly grateful for Bruce, and are glad to have had Battleson Entertainment be a part of our wedding!

Bruce was so easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. His responses were always fast and helped with any questions we had. He has an incredible website called Bridesanity that we were able to use to pick our songs. The website provided us top song suggestions for each step, cake cutting, processional, happy hour, songs during dinner, dancing, etc. The website also provided a space to get to know us as a couple and the vibe we wanted for our wedding. We had a few phone meetings with Bruce that lasted over an hour to help guide us and solidify our vision! Bruce's MC skills throughout the night were very professional and provided a warm comfortable atmosphere along with keeping up with the schedule. His DJ booth was awesome!! We had the best dance party ever, which was important to us. Our guests and our self selves literally did not leave the dance floor once dancing began. We totally recommend Bruce to anyone looking to have a tailored wedding experience. Thank you Bruce for being incredible, we are forever grateful for you for making our wedding day so special.

We interviewed three highly recommended DJ’s for our wedding. Bruce came out on top. Even with high expectations, Bruce exceeded them by far. He carefully listened to how we wanted our wedding to turn out and in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, he was always available to listen to any adjustments we wanted to make. Being in the business for as long as he has, he has a lot of experience and connections and recommendations. And it shows! He even gave us a referral for a harpist that we ended using for our ceremony that we loved. On the day of the wedding, Bruce came prepared and made it his goal to make sure that everyone had a good time. My groom had a last second request to surprise serenade me with his guitar and a bunch of our friends at the reception & Bruce helped to set it up perfectly. One of my most favorite moments! Everything was amazing that night - the music, the lighting, the jokes. If you want a rock star wedding, Bruce is your guy!

Bruce was the fantastic DJ for our cocktail hour and reception. As musicians, my now husband and I were keen on having the music we really loved and appreciated played at our wedding. Bruce kindly listened to our many requests (including finding a very elusive first dance song!!!) and then added his own sage wisdom from his years of experience. Our bridal party commented to us how nice he was; he sent our best man to check in on us when we got lost in the crowd talking to people. After all, we had put together a specific playlist for our dance floor and we wanted to enjoy it! One of the most special moments of our evening was seeing nearly EVERYONE on the dance floor—guests of all ages from 2 1/2 years old to our grandparent were dancing away. Bruce also came up with a clever strategy to initially get all of our guests on the dance floor. His announcements were always clear and enthusiastic without sounding fake or overdone. He worked excellently with our coordinator and photographer so that all was smooth throughout the evening. He also added uplighting, which added a lot to the ambience of the ballroom. We so appreciated having him as part of our team for the day!! We highly recommend Bruce’s services.

We loved having Bruce as the DJ at our wedding and reception! He customized our music lists and songs to fit our exact tastes and desires. Bruce was always very professional, timely, and went out of his way to make sure we had what we wanted on our special day! He even made phone appointments with us that fit our schedule to confirm our selections on Bridesanity (his super cool and easy-to-use system of selecting music for your event). He brought all of his own equipment and set it up in such a way that the music was never too loud for the guests trying to talk at the tables, but always loud enough for those on the dance floor! Coming from 2 very different distinct backgrounds, me being Mexican and my husband being Ghanaian, Bruce did such a great job by respecting our playlist and keeping the crowd very entertained!! He respects all your wishes from which song to play first to which song you want last. Bruce is such a talented DJ. He created the perfect wedding playlist for us from start to finish! Everyone was so impressed and we received lots of inquiries about what our playlist was. The music at our wedding was one of the things we are most proud of because we got to see so many of our friends letting loose and having a fun time. As a wedding photographer, I have worked with many dj's but I have to say, Bruce sets an example for the rest. He is amazing at getting the crowd on the dance floor. Gus was our DJ for our 8/2018 wedding. We had several phone calls with him prior to the event, and he was very responsive and helpful. He even put together our timeline for us! Bruce did such an incredible job for our wedding! Everyone was dancing their hearts out, and the up-lighting options he setup at The Hacienda in Santa Ana was beautiful. He was a recommended vendor from the venue, and was able to work with us sticking to our budget. His website was super easy to use to list special songs for special times, and even making sure certain genres were not played. My husband and I had a very fun bridal party so we had them each enter w their significant other to a song of their choice, and Bruce handled it wonderfully. We had family in town from Mexico so he threw in some fun Mexican music, and the party went nuts loving every second. We didn't realize until day-of, but turned out Bruce was the DJ at my cousin's wedding a few years prior, and they loved him as well. Thank you!!

If you are looking for the BEST DJ experience you have ever had for your wedding or ANY event, then I highly recommend Bruce Battleson! He is responsible, reliable and just a down to earth awesome person! I researched many DJ's before deciding on Battleson Entertainment and right away I had this gut feeling that he was the ONE and I was right! He went above and beyond our expectations as a DJ/MC for our wedding day! I really liked the fact that he gave us that personal touch. I noticed with other DJ companies, they just assign a random DJ for your event and it just didn't feel right. Furthermore, Battleson Entertainment had a classy white sound system set up covering all the wires and black sound equipment for the evening, it looked so professional and beautiful! About a month before our wedding we scheduled a phone meeting where he asked us everything from introductions to announcements to the schedule of the day and the specific type of music selections that we wanted for each part of the wedding. We had ceremony music, cocktail hour music, music during dinner and a whole lot of dance music for the entire evening! We had some outstanding requests in terms of Hindi/ Bollywood music and he was able to make it all happen! For example: for our first dance we started off with a classic love song for one minute, then we changed it to a minute of a Bollywood love song, then for the third part of our first dance he played a three minute upbeat mix of a Bollywood/Hindi/English mashup that we found on YouTube! He entertained our guests all evening and he really knew how to keep the dance floor full!!! Thank you Bruce for being such a kind person at heart and also making our wedding day so memorable and super fun!!!

Gus was amazing and we loved him! We live in San Diego and had our wedding in San Clemente. We wanted a DJ familiar with our unique venue and Battleson Entertainment was highly recommended. The reviews were fantastic and could not have been more spot on! Because we were unable to meet in person, the time we spent getting to know Gus over the computer and the phone made us feel 100% comfortable with our selection and we knew that we had picked the perfect company and DJ for our big day. Our wedding was everything we had imagined. The lights, set up, music, etc. were perfect. The quality of the sound was great and everyone commented on Gus's fantastic personality. Bruce is seriously the BEST DJ EVER! Our guests raved about how awesome he was throughout the whole wedding! Pre-Planning – Bruce was great in walking us through how to use the online system to pick out all our songs. As we got closer to our wedding day he scheduled time to go over all of the survey details with us. We live in New Mexico, but working with Bruce in California over the phone was super easy! Wedding Day – Everything went amazingly. The quality of his set up, equipment, microphone, and music was pure perfection. There were no sound distortions or failures at any point during the entire event. Everyone heard us loud and clear during the ceremony and then during the reception the crowd just went wild. He was so great and revving them up. Near the end of the reception, he most definitely noticed that our friends are big fans of EDM and played such great hits. One of my favorite memories is when our friends were singing from the top of our lungs on the dance floor. He encouraged us to get behind the DJ booth for photo ops and I am just eager to see how cool those shots must have come out. We really LOVE Bruce and cannot sing his praises enough for making our wedding one of the best people have ever been to.

We love DJ Gus! Nothing could have stopped us from having fun at our wedding, but the guys at Battleson Entertainment really helped us make the ceremony & reception feel exactly the way we wanted it. We couldn’t be happier with how the whole thing worked out – we’d recommend Gus to anyone! Part of the reason that we are giving Battleson Entertainment a firm five stars is the way they do their preparation. 1) These guys have a really slick website that we used to tailor our music preferences. It was just the right amount of detail – we didn’t have to specify every single song that he played, but we gave him some direction and the playlist was outstanding. 2) They used our planning meetings effectively to get the right feel for the wedding. They helped us find out what we wanted and were able to execute it with their own special touch. 3) Their equipment is top notch – great sound for both the ceremony (outdoors) and the reception. Also, and we can’t say this emphatically enough, Gus was outstanding on the day itself. He was a great facilitator of our party. He worked the room and meshed with our guests, but when it was time to play jams, he nailed that part, too. He gave a tap on the shoulder when big events were coming up (speeches, cake cutting, etc) so everyone felt prepared. Every wedding is different, and I think the guys at Battleson found out what we wanted and just nailed it – we couldn’t be happier about choosing them.

We recently got married at Strawberry Farms and Bruce is one of their preferred vendors. During the planning process I was getting a little overwhelmed. So I passed the task of finding a DJ on to my then fiancee. He emailed a few and he decided that Bruce would be the best choice for us. While planning our wedding we were living up in the bay area. We were able to talk and Skype with Bruce a few times. We communicated mostly with email. He was always fast to respond. The day of, he was absolutely amazing. He was the DJ and MC for the night and the whole day went very smooth. From dancing to speeches to cutting the cake and doing all the other traditional reception activities. He has a great energy and was able to keep the dance floor full the whole night. Although, we were only able to talk to Bruce on Skype and the phone a few times. He was still able to get the kind of wedding we wanted. He does a great job.

From the day we contacted Bruce about being the DJ at our wedding to following up with us a few days later, Bruce was nothing but professional, informative, and easy to work with. We met with Bruce several times before our wedding day. Each time we met up, he was on-time and ready to go. He always had ideas for us if we were stuck (e.g. cake cutting song, bouquet toss song, etc.). Although we loved everything Bruce did to make our wedding special, our favorite thing he did was always made sure our dance floor was packed. When we started the first set of songs and dancing, Bruce gathered everyone together on our dance floor for a group picture. As soon as the picture was complete, he started playing Uptown Funk, which kept everyone on the dance floor. Later that night, we took a break from dancing to cut the cake. After the cake cutting break, Bruce called all the ladies to the dance floor. He played "Something Bad" by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood to get all the girls dancing again. After that song, he invited all of the guys back to the dance floor, as well. Again, this was the perfect way to get everyone on the dance floor. We would highly recommend Bruce to anyone getting married. Since our wedding, we have had so many guests tell us how much fun they had on our special day. Bruce was the DJ at my wedding this month, and I was so happy with the whole process. I'm an obsessive planner who loves to think of every detail ahead of time whenever possible, and I knew Bruce was going to be the right fit as soon as we had our first consultation. Now, by no means do I mean to imply that Bruce is rigid or aggressive - rather, he rolls with the punches and really is attentive to every detail of his client's needs. During our first meeting, when I asked what makes him such a successful DJ, he said that he knows how to create great sets of music that make sense and can read crowds well. When I asked other DJs the same question, they just said "I have lots of experience", which didn't make me feel as comfortable as what Bruce said. Next, when I expressed my concerns about having some shy family and wanting to make sure they have a good time, he gave us some great ideas for games and ways to break the ice - we did end up using a couple of these strategies, and they worked great :) Following the meeting, he sent us several pages of very detailed questionnaires, which I LOVED - it had questions such as "What have you liked most about great weddings you've been to", "What personality would you like your DJ to convey", "What song do you want for the cake cutting", "Who is your favorite artist", "What song do you want for the recessional", etc. I felt like I had the freedom to specify exactly what I wanted, and there were also questions where I felt comfortable saying "I don't care" and trusting Bruce to choose the right thing. Additionally, he sent us a link to his website where you can search through his MASSIVE database of songs and specify what song he must play, what songs you'd like to hear, and what songs absolutely should not be played. If there's a song you want that he doesn't have, just add it as a custom song, and he'll purchase it (he did this with 2 or 3 songs for my wedding). It was great to have such a high-tech yet user-friendly way to specify what I wanted. On the big day, he was prompt, and his setup was perfect. The audio during the ceremony was excellent - no feedback or other problems that I've seen at some weddings. The song timing during the processional was really important to me, and he totally made it work perfectly. He moved to a separate setup during cocktail hour, and yet a third for the reception. He made on-the-fly announcements whenever my coordinator needed, and he was clear and friendly. He said just enough to be an MC, but not too much that he attracted excess attention. He truly did have great sets and read the crowd well during the dancing - there was one point where it fell flat, but he immediately recognized it, and the crowd was back on the dance floor in less than a minute. Bruce was such an important part of my wedding day, and I can't thank him enough. I definitely recommend him as a professional with tons of experience who is ready to tailor himself to whatever his client needs. And hey, if you are not the type to obsess over every detail like I am, I'm sure he'll be happy to jive with that too!
