Bayou Bluegrass Catering is a full-service catering and event planning company serving Lexington and surrounding areas since 1998. We believe that amazing food is one of the most important elements of any event! We LOVE providing our services at various venues and locations throughout the Bluegrass. Our goal is to make things as easy as possible for your wedding planning. We can provide as much or as little as you like for your celebration including food & beverage, bar service, and event rentals. Our event managers are available to help you with various aspects of the planning process from vendor and decor recommendations to day-of supervision. From our cajun roots to our bluegrass heritage, Bayou Bluegrass' food is second to none and destined to impress. We are Kentucky Proud, sourcing many local ingredients. Our skilled chef staff will create a menu that your guests will be talking about for years to come! We also offer some fun themed options including Southern, Cajun, BBQ, Kentucky Style, Luau, Spanish and Italian. I was really disappointed with our entire catering experience with bayou bluegrass. The month before the wedding our point of contact was unresponsive over email. To coordinate anything we had to call & work with someone else. We also got 4 app...
etizers and paid around $1500 for them, when I walked into my cocktail hour there were no appetizers out….even though we were told they were priced for 3 of each app/person. So you’d think there would be a ton of apps but most people I talked to said they didn’t even see appetizers at the wedding either! The dinner was fine, nothing more. I’d go with a different caterer. We didn’t have a good experience at all.

They were prepped and set up the day before and had an excellent and friendly staff of waiters and waitresses. Our wedding guests absolutely devoured their food, no joke, many said that was the best wedding meal they had ever had. They do group tastings and have different buffet stations with a little bit of everything to try from entree options, sides, pasta bar, taco bar, bite size station and a carving station. They even had an open bar with signature drinks, which was just the cutest touch. This gave is such a variety to choose from and opened us up to something different for our wedding. The entire planning process with them was amazing. We did not get married on their site and they were so open to meeting us at our venue out of town, face-timing us when we needed help, and responding so quickly when we had questions. The service was terrific making sure water glasses were filled and empty plates were thrown away. ss was just supposed to be a sit-down to talk through initial details and needs, and instantly Shanna made us comfortable and gained our trust without even trying. She was so relaxed and knew exactly where we were coming from for everything, and her confidence was unbelievably comforting. Not only that, she even let us taste some of the dishes they were making back in the kitchen that afternoon, and everything was absolutely delicious. The mac'n'cheese was so good that we decided to do an entire mac'n'cheese station at our reception and it was a smash hit. All of the food was delicious and timely and the right temperature, and Shanna was on top of everything. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on the day of, and even in the months leading up she answered all our questions promptly and changed our proposal a thousand times without complaining, which she definitely had every right to do given how many emails we sent. She was amazing, the food was amazing, and it was still less expensive than the place that charged us for the sub-par tasting. All around a wonderful experience!

On to the food-- SO GOOD! Fried Cajun turkey is not your standard wedding entree, but everyone raved about it. The menu as a whole (plus the sweet tea) was a big hit and added a great touch to the wedding. We chose the buffet and self serve drinks and it all went over very smoothly. The staff was so kind and helpful at every step.
Shanna gave great advice and helped us work out having the ceremony downstairs. She was respectful of our budget and just put us at ease. Can't Bayou recommend enough.
