My daughter got married here in early June. Madison the coordinator was phenomenal. Communication with her from the start of planning to the wedding day was excellent. I hired the ...
MSU mascot Sparty to make an appearance at the reception and it was a secret. Madison and Jenna helped me to coordinate this surprise without spoiling the secret to the bride & groom. The outdoor setting is beautiful. I was worried they wouldn’t be able to fit nearly 200 guests to watch the ceremony but somehow they arranged the chairs for all to sit comfortably. Everything was perfect and better than I imagined.
Beacon Hill was overall a good venue for our wedding. The facility/reception space was very nice and spacious, and the outdoor ceremony space was beautiful! The food was very good,...
and they did a food tasting event for us and other couples earlier in the season to help us get a gauge for their different options. The two downsides were that there is not a room for the groomsmen to get ready in (there is a bridal sweet for the bridesmaids), and the communication with the wedding coordinator was not great. We had trouble getting in contact with the venue/coordinator to iron out important details before the wedding, although we did eventually get these things figured out with them. Also, the coordinator was not as involved with organizing and preparing for the ceremony as we would have liked, but she did do the things that we needed her to. Overall, we were satisfied with Beacon Hill.
My sister got married here, and I decided to have my wedding here as well just because of the fact that the venue wedding coordinators are extremely amazing to work with. Jacquelin...
e Yarmak and Ashlyn Antenucci are amazing people, and they always expressed excitement for my wedding just as much as we had. They were always a simple call or email away. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything we wanted for the wedding was accounted for. I was so indecisive at times and changed my mind on things so many times, and they were so accommodating every time. The ceremony background is over a beautiful lake, we got married in October so the changing leaf colors were beautiful. The golf course is stunning, and has amazing photo opportunities. They worked well with all my vendors. I cannot say enough amazing things, and appreciate all the hard work they put into my wedding.
The ceremony space is gorgeous. The reception space is great. The bridal room is a narrow closet, plan to get ready else where for hair and makeup. In the year from when we booked ...
to when we had our wedding we dealt with 4 different people due to change in management etc. Jerry was very nice, as was Jacqueline who we ended up working with. She however couldn't be there the day of our wedding. It was run by 14 year olds and had many bumps. No champagne when we did toasts, brought it out awkwardly after dinner and even forgot a table. We don't drink and our glasses were left empty. This was one of many things that did not go smoothly. Day wasn't ruined but cannot recommend this venue unfortunately.
My now husband and I are very happy with our experience at Beacon Hill! Our wedding was May 18th, 2019. Before our wedding we met with the new event coordinator, Jaqueline, and new...
manager, Jerry. Both were very nice and experienced! I have to put in extra words for Jaqueline though because she went above and beyond. On our rehearsal she was very professional and kind. She worked very well with our officiant. She directed our wedding very well when it came to telling everyone when to walk out for our ceremony and when dinner was ready. I learned after our wedding day that my mom told me she had helped set up centerpieces when my florist was late to drop them off. My mom said she did so much to help decorate for my wedding and make it look beautiful. Thinking back on my wedding, I would not pick any other place because it was pretty affordable for ~120 guests, the reception area was big and accommodating, and the outside ceremony area was BEAUTIFUL! I loved the lake in the background. I am very, very, very happy I picked this place to have our special day. 😊
I had my wedding here this past spring and absolutely loved it!! I worked with Barry initially and then my main contact person was Meaghan, the event coordinator. The ceremony spac...
e in front of the lake was stunning and a beautiful backdrop for our pictures. The staff was fantastic from our first meeting and I felt very relaxed on the big day. The food was excellent, we did the buffet. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff at Beacon Hill and I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for an affordable beautiful place to get married.
I have nothing but incredible things to say about this place. When my husband and I first checked it out for our wedding, the first thing we noticed was how peaceful and serene it ...
was by the pergola. All you could hear were the birds chirping and the wind swaying the trees. We were greeted by Emily and her enthusiasm and confidence about everything working out so smoothly swayed us into booking.
Shortly after booking, we found out that Emily had moved, but the general manager Barry runs everything there. There isn't a thing that Barry can't help with and whenever we had wedding questions or needed to come up and visit the venue again, he was there. There was one time that he was sick and couldn't make it - and even then, he still came through and had someone just as knowledgeable able to meet us. Closer to the wedding, he hired Meaghan to take on wedding and event coordinating, so she helped us the rest of the way. Meaghan stepped into her role quickly and offered her help often.
Barry, Meaghan, and the rest of the staff at Beacon Hill well exceeded our expectations. The venue was never a worry in the wedding planning for us. They were so flexible about allowing us to decorate basically however we wanted (within reason) and even let us look through the decor left from previous weddings.
We offered signature drinks at our wedding and they even accommodated to make sure they had whatever liquor was necessary for those drinks. The coolest part, was that when we entered the reception, they had a TON of both of our signature drinks ready and made sitting on the bar and the guests LOVED it. They basically ordered the signature drinks all night.
The guests raved about how delicious the food was and how absolutely beautiful the venue was. Beacon Hill got a fresh new look with new carpet, new dance floor and updates to the pergola prior to our wedding and it made everything stunning.
This venue was a big part in creating the best day of my life so far. I would recommend them in the highest to anybody that considered booking. Thank you Barry, Meaghan & the rest of the Beacon Hill team!!!
Some advice for any future brides:
- The small bridal room they offer is a perfect intimate area for just getting your dress on with your bridesmaids or loved ones. I even left my dress there the night before and they locked the room. It worked out so perfect. Meaghan even brought an entire tray of wine glasses and a bottle of Chardonnay (of our choice) into the room for us to toast with and calm the nerves.
- The photographer took pictures of the dress on the wooden door in the lobby with the light shining through. I'll post when I can, in case you are worried about the mirror in the bridal room.
- Maybe have something for your heels to prevent sinking or re-consider heels for the day of there. The bridal party, myself included, had a tough time walking down the steps of the ceremony. The steps are fine, but your nerves are in high gear that day and that changes everything. Also, if you go on the grounds for photos your heels will sink into the dirt. The stairs added a beautiful element of surprise that day but really, keep your nerves in mind when picking out shoes.
Beautiful location, staff was great. My wedding here was perfect!
Our wedding day went perfectly, except for the weather not cooperating. Maggie was easy to get in touch with and was very accessible throughout the whole wedding process. The venue...
was great and very affordable.
They offer a discount if you have your wedding on a Sunday or Friday. It was nice to have the ceremony and reception in the same place. The food is amazing!!!!!
Jerry was so great to work with. Our wedding day was perfect, and the venue is breathtaking (and affordable!)
I used Beacon Hill for my ceremony and reception. The ceremony was outside, it was so beautiful! The food for the reception was wonderful! Everyone complimented what a good place ...
it was. We had 130 guests and it the cost is very affordable.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. THEY ARE SO WORTH IT. THEY MADE ME SO RELAXED AND STRESS FREE. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING AND THE MANAGER HELPED SO MUCH. IF THE WEATHER IS BAD THE INSIDE IS STILL GOO...
D AND THEY STILL MAKE IT WORTH IT.
The manager said we had our date "held" for 3 days... when I called back to mail our check, he had given the date away without contacting us. Very rude to speak with.
Prior to the wedding, Jerry (the event coordinator) made it very easy to talk to him and was very helpful in answering our questions. We had a food tasting and it was so delicious ...
that we knew everything would taste amazing on our special day---and it did! On the day of the wedding, the servers, Jerry, chefs, kitchen staff, and bar staff made the day run smoothly and I did not have any qualms whatsoever. I was a very happy bride! My husband and I even joke... saying, "We should get married again just so we can have such an amazing time, food, and so much fun!" The salmon was to die for! :)
I was referred to Beacon Hill by a trusted co-worker, she told me the staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. The ceremony site immediately sold me on the place - I didn't n...
eed more convincing after that! It's just a perfect, intimate, outdoor setting. Brides beware - your aisle is a winding, brick staircase! So choose shoes wisely.
The reception hall is beautiful, modern, and appealing. I was looking for a place with windows - can't stand the traditional dark, enclosed banquet room. It is bright, with a wall of windows, high ceilings, and nice touches as far as the decorating.
The food - absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the salmon. We had a buffet, but it moved VERY quickly, 175 guests had their food within 20 minutes of opening the buffet. I believe the food is reasonably priced - but they get you on the overpriced bar packages (we paid $21/adult over the age of 21 for an open bar with name brand liquors, 5 different wines, and 3 draft beer choices) Great bar though, strong drinks and fast service. The bartender was great!
My only complaint deals with contacting the staff. The original banquet coordinator when I booked the hall was very hard to contact, which left us trying to get ahold of the general manager - and he's way too busy to deal with the little wedding details. However, a new guy (Jerry) started a couple of months before my wedding, and he was great about returning phone calls and answering all of my questions.
My experience at Beacon Hill Golf Club was wonderful. They went above and beyone all my expectations to make my day wonderful. They acted in a professional manner & were avaiab...
le at any time to help answer questions (I called all the time). We not only had our reception here, but also did an onsite ceremony that was flawless. They were one step ahead of us the entire day. Their staff was outstanding too.
We had a beautiful backdrop for photos outside the venu. Food was amazing. Prices were very reasonable:);Lack of communication from event coordinator.
The food was awesome, the room is beautiful, and the outside ceremony site is beautiful.;The management staff is disorganized and they are difficult to work with.
We were the only wedding party there.;The waitstaff was very quick to pick up dishes and drinks that weren't finished.
