Bean Counter made us the most incredible cake. Not only was it the most beautiful wedding cake I've ever seen, it was also delicious. All our guests were raving about it, and what made it even more special was that it was gluten free. Everyone was amazed that a gluten free cake could be so good. They were also very communicative throughout the whole process and accommodated all our wants and needs. Definitely get your wedding cake here!

Alice was great to work with and customized our order just the way we wanted it to be! We were able to increase the size of our cake according to our wishes as well. I make wedding cakes and it was really important to me that our cake was delicious as well as being beautiful. The Bean Counter 100% came through! We went with vanilla cake with raspberry buttercream. It was smooth, sweet and delicious!!! One hiccup was that you need to talk to the owner directly - the branch stores cannot help with wedding cake orders. However, since we worked with her directly, everything was perfect! The cake was delivered and set up at the venue before our reception. From my perspective, it was seamless!

People are still talking about the wedding cake! It was scrumptious as were the dozens of mini desserts and the dozens of chocolate covered strawberries. The couple only wanted a very small 2 tier cake - but as the mother of the bride - I knew people would remember the cake so we also ordered a double layer specialty sheet cake so that every slice served was the same. These cakes along with the other desserts were all devoured. Lombardi and her team were attentive, very detail oriented, excellent communicators, timely and very professional. Bean Counter Bakery is now our go to bakery and I highly recommend them.

Alice was very quick to respond to me emails, very easy to work with, and adjusted our cake tasting at the last minute due to unforseen circumstances on my end! They were very professional as well. As far as the cake, it was absolutely beautiful and all of my guests complimented us on our cake!

We absolutely loved our wedding cake and could not recommend Alice and her team at the Bean Counter enough. The Bean Counter had BY FAR the best cakes we sampled during our cake tastings with different bakeries. We had several guests specifically comment that the cake was superb and try to get second slices!!

Absolutely beautiful display- we did a cupcake tower with a 6 inch round cake on the top to make it still look like a cake. Our guests raves about all the different cupcakes and how delicious they all were! We had a lovely experience with the Bean Counter Cafe from planning our tastings to the execution of what we wanted. Everything was so perfect! Highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of working with a Bean Counter Bakery and I must say, I was blown away by the quality of their cakes. The cake tasting could be done from home with a preset box of options, which I thought was a cute and convenient idea. Alice was able to take our vision and turn it into a stunning design that was not only beautiful and simple but also delicious. The flavors were also amazing (a delicious chocolate on chocolate) - our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was.

We used The Bean Counter for our wedding cake and were so happy with how it turned out. There are beautiful wedding cakes, and there are delicious wedding cakes - and you don’t often get both … but you will with Alice. Her cakes taste incredible and our biggest problem was picking which flavor we wanted - try them all! They have many flavors, and they were all delicious and rich. They have many designs to choose from, and they made us a beautiful cake that included figurines of our three dogs. We had The Bean Counter on our radar based on an earlier tasting event we had attended, and then we found out they had made the cake for one of our friends years earlier which we specifically remembered loving, so it was a no-brainer that we'd use them for our wedding, and we were not disappointed. Great cake design, incredible flavor, and on-time delivery; we'd highly recommend them!

Alice is the absolute best out there! Not only are all her cakes unbelievably delicious, she is an incredibly kind and wonderful person to work with! I had a lot of questions and was a bit frazzled by wedding planning in general, and she was able to answer all my questions and help me through the process which made my whole experience so much more fun and relaxing. I cannot thank her enough and will go back again for all my cake needs!

Alice was so nice to work with leading up to the wedding! She was very responsive, detail-oriented, and helpful with our food allergies. We had so many guests comment at our wedding that the cake was the best wedding cake they've ever eaten! I highly recommend them!

I cannot possibly express how much we were OBSESSED with our wedding cake from Bean Counter!!!!! Alice was not only an expert in delicious cake and design, but friendly, helpful, and communicative. We have many allergies in our family to gluten and tree nuts including myself and most of our wedding party. Alice made us feel so safe in having our completely gluten and tree nut free cake for our wedding, along with our incredible cannolis and eclairs. My old school Italian family was RAVING about how delicious it all was! I barely wanted a wedding cake before going to our original cake tasting because I was convinced that there was no way that a gluten free wedding cake would be good. I was SO wrong! After eating the first bite, I was literally more excited about our cake than I have ever been about any dessert in my entire life (which, believe me, says a lot). We fell in love with not only our cake flavors (one layer lemon/raspberry, one layer apple pie filling, and one layer chocolate chip cannoli), but Alice worked with us to get the perfect design that we wanted. Our cake was GORGEOUS and we can't wait to get photos back from our photographer so we can keep reminiscing about our beautiful AND delicious cake! We cannot say enough good things about Alice and her unbelievable talent. Hire this bakery!!!!!

Best wedding cake and a great price. I would highly recommend!

The Bean Counter Bakery did an amazing job with our wedding cake. We had great communication with Alice from our initial meeting to the wedding day. Our wedding date in 2020 was canceled and pushed back a year and we had no issues rescheduling with them. At the initial meeting they gave us all the details we needed to know about choosing a cake. We saw numerous photos of previous customers’ cake designs and were able to try several flavors. We ended up with a three tier cake with each tier a different flavor and filling. It was delicious and beautiful! Would highly recommend using Bean Counter Bakery for your wedding cake.

Couldn't have asked for a better cake or experience with Alice. We planned a quick wedding so even on short notice she was pleasant, easy to work with, and got our cake PERFECT. She listened to every little detail we wanted, she handled the flowers that I had delivered to the bakery, and the cake topper and the cake came out better than ever. It was EXACTLY how I had imagined it and tasted wonderfully, too. I can't say enough good things about Bean Counter Bakery and recommend them to everyone!

Even before we met Alice, I knew she was the person I wanted make my wedding cake. I work night shift so it was a little difficult to find a good time that worked for the both of us and she did all she could to gives an appointment that accommodate my needs. Our wedding cake it was JUST AMAZING, everything we asked for she made sure we had it. I couldn't be more happy with our decision to get our cake here.

The Bean Counter is amazing! Cake was delicious, there wasn't any left. Alice was wonderful to work with and she brought our vision to reality. She even has options for those with special dietary needs and they taste great too. If you are looking for a bakery for your special day, look no further, you won't be disappointed.

BUY THE CAKE YOU LOVE! At first, we had hoped to spend as LOW as possible for cake/cupcakes (esp. since my husband doesn’t really like cake) & we found some places that were a lot lower than our budget but after doing tastings of 3 different spots- Bean Counter Bakery was the only one were the leftovers got demolished!! After the wedding we had sooo many people ask us where we got our cupcakes from. Family that live further away said they’d make a day trip just for some cupcakes! I’m so happy that we went with Alice! OH and the cupcakes were so good… it made my HUSBAND GRAB MORE. AND HE DOESNT EVEN LIKE CAKE LOL 😂 (also we went back a month later for my bday cake lol) I will say was a bit more than we hoped to spend originally and prices increased right before our wedding which wasn’t great, but I had budgeted more than we needed so luckily it wasn’t a problem for us.

Bean Counter Bakery was the cake sponsor for our wedding venue. Alice and her staff worked amazingly to satisfy our taste, cake style, and flavors. We got her signature cake for our wedding and it was PERFECT! Insider: My step-daughter left her table to take some pictures and when she returned her cake was gone. I found out that this happened to a couple of people. LOL

We traveled from VA to my daughter's WPI graduation, and she specifically requested a Bean Counter Bakery cake for her celebration. I ordered it 2 or 3 months ahead but forgot to pay online two week prior to our arrival. I contacted Alice after hours when I realized my mistake, and she went to the trouble to call me. Ultimately she saved the day by providing us with one of her delicious cakes- even though they were swamped with orders! Highly recommend Alice and BCB for the best cake in town and the best service!!

Alice was great to work with. She was great about staying on top of things and walking us through the process. The cake was amazing -- our only regret was that we didn't ask for leftovers from the venue. So good!

One of the highlights of wedding planning is the cake tasting, and if you choose Bean Counter Bakery, you’re really in for a treat! We chose Bean Counter Bakery because not only did their flavors blow us away, but we were also excited to support a local, woman-owned business. We chose a spice cake with an apple caramel filling and buttercream frosting and, oh man, just remembering it is making me hungry! The cake was beautiful and absolutely divine. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the cake was: delicately moist, not overwhelmingly sweet, and perfectly fitting for a New England fall wedding. The Bean Counter team was a joy to work with and our wedding day delivery was seamless. I’m still thinking about the cake 🤤. I highly recommend trying this bakery for your dessert needs.

Beautiful and delicious wedding cake!

Working with Alice and Crystal was easy and effortless. We chose a variety of cupcakes for our wedding day and they did not disappoint! As a girl who loves her sweets, I so enjoyed this part of the wedding planning process. Every sample my husband and I tasted was delicious! I would recommend Bean Counter Bakery to anyone for the wedding dessert needs.

Absolutely delicious wedding cake. We did a few different tastings and the one from bean counter had by far the most generous portions and were also the most delicious. In the end, it was an easy decision. We got to choose two different flavors for our 3-tier cake, and at the event it completely disappeared! Our guests couldn't stop talking about it! I absolutely would recommend Bean Counter to others organizing a wedding.

Alice is a truly talented baker. From the day we had our cake tasting, we knew that her cakes were top quality and would be loved by all of our wedding guests. Alice was very professional and had a plan in place even as we postponed our wedding and changed the number of guests. She was flexible in changing the cake size and making a plan for getting flowers onto the cake. The cake was so tasty, we still stop by her shop from time to time for treats!

Alice and team did an incredible job with our wedding cake! From the moment we met Alice she was professional and so organized. We enjoyed trying all of the flavors with her at the tasting and she even invited us back to try more, if needed! Alice and her husband transported our cake all the way to Kennebunk, ME too. I was blown away at how gorgeous the cake was - it looked exactly like the photo I had showed her for by vision! Best of all, Alice's cake flavors and taste are unlike any other. We got the vanilla cake with lemon filling and vanilla buttercream frosting and it was just perfect (our guests are still telling us how delicious the cake was). Even those guests who didn't like lemon LOVED this flavor. The cake looked great on Alice's cake stand as well. I would recommend Alice to any other Bride!

Alice did an incredible job with our cakes. We selected the Tutti Frutti and White Chocolate Strawberry flavors and they were so light, airy, and delicious. Couldn’t have asked for better- HIGHLY recommend!

Our wedding cake was absolutely stunning!! We had tastings at a few other vendors in the Boston area but Alice’s cake far surpassed everyone else’s. She was always available to answer any questions that we had and provided a wedding cake for us that was even better than we ever could have imagined! Incredibly delicious cake!!!!

Our cake was everything we dreamed of and more! Not to mention, how tasty it truly was. They are the real deal, and everyone in Central MA knows their dedication to the craft. Leading up to it was also seamless, you can tell they are professionals and did a great job with coordinating with the venue directly.

We had a very stressful wedding planning, as many people do. Our original baker backed out last minute. I can’t tell you how much of a blessing this was, given how amazing Bean Counter Bakery was. They were so empathetic and Alice sat with us for a long time, working over details. I was desperate to have a peeling birch cake, simple but beautiful, without any fondant. Well, Alice worked major magic. Thé cake was absolutely stunning. It was also TO DIE for, we went with different flavors for each tier. It’s about a 2 hour drive for us, and it’s totally worth it. Heading there for our anniversary cake this week. Will be ordering for my daughter’s first birthday as well!

The Bean Counter Bakery has been timely & professional throughout our very long wedding planning process. Due to Covid we pushed our wedding exactly a year and the Bean Counter Bakery couldn’t have been more supportive in this heartbreaking process. Moving forward a year the bakery communicated regularly and made changes as needed. On our wedding day the cake was delivered on time with absolutely no issues. I highly recommend this bakery not only because of their professionalism but because their cake is absolutely outstanding!!

Alice and the Bean Counter did a wonderful job with our wedding cake. We found them through our venue (Fruitlands), and heard great things from other couples about their buttercream frosting (no fondant!) which is exactly what we were looking for. We did our cake tastings during COVID, so we took our samples to go. We went for it and tried 7 different combinations, and Alice even had a sample of banana pudding cake made for us (a non-standard flavor for them, since I was interested in a banana cake option). In the end, we decided on a funfetti cake with raspberry buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting, and it was delicious! The cake itself was light, and there was the right amount of filling and frosting without it being overwhelming - it was one of the best cakes I’ve had. Our guests loved it, and even though we ordered more than enough cake, it was totally finished by the end of the night. Alice also kindly made vegan cupcake versions of our cake for a few of our guests so they could have some, too. Her team also frosted it beautifully (a simple horizontal stripe pattern), and worked with our florists to add the cake florals for a simple but pretty look. I highly recommend the Bean Counter to anyone looking for a wedding cake or another event cake that will be delicious and pretty!

DELICIOUS and beautiful cake!

Bean Counter was such a great experience, in spite of COVID challenges. Alice provided amazing samples and designed the perfect cake for our winery wedding. The flavors (lemon curd & fresh raspberries with vanilla cake in one layer, chocolate cake with cannolli filling for the other) were delicious and on point. Everyone raved about the cake and rightfully so!

As someone that loves to bake, having a great wedding cake was at the top of my list. I am so grateful that I worked with Bean Counter Bakery for my wedding in July 2021! Alice is personable, talented, and organized, and took the time to get to know me and my vision for cake. I also have a food allergy, and Alice took special precautions to ensure that I could enjoy my own wedding cake (and all the samples we tried) without worrying. All of the flavors that we sampled were delicious, so it was hard to decide! We ended up going with chocolate cake/chocolate filling and vanilla cake/strawberry cheesecake filling. The cake itself came out beautiful, exactly as I imagined, and it was so delicious! We will definitely use Bean Counter for future events and are so happy we worked with them for our wedding!

We love Alice! We first found the Bean Counter as a preferred vendor at our original wedding venue for our summer 2020 wedding. However, after COVID hit, we had to make some changes. Alice was so awesome in providing us a cake for our intimate backyard wedding! We decided to do a wedding celebration in 2021 and once again Alice came in clutch! She designed the perfect cake to go with our ocean venue. Her cakes are delicious. I'm a sucker for the cannoli chip!

Using the Bean Counter Bakery was one of the easiest wedding decisions we made! From the initial contact to the tasting to our actual day, Alice was so amazing to work with. They were so wonderful and flexible when we had to switch our wedding date due to the pandemic. They let us do multiple cupcake flavors and were so accommodating to our gluten free/dairy free guests. The cupcakes were AMAZING! Everyone commented on how delicious they were, which was telling by the fact that there were none left. Alice was always quick to respond, professional and a joy to work with. I would 100% recommend booking the Bean Counter Bakery for your wedding or any event!

Our guests loved our cake and the design was exactly what we wanted! The owner works with you directly to choose a flavor and design. She accommodated someone in our bridal party’s allergy by making a special cupcake for her which was awesome.

Very disappointed in the service provided. Paid my deposit and I confirmed my samples 5 days prior to pick up and when I arrived they weren’t ready, no one had any idea, I waited over an hour for them. And still was asked to pay for them. I then responded that night with our choice for flavors and have never received a response 6 weeks later. In the meantime, I picked another vendor.

As dessert lovers, having a wedding cake that was delicious was really important to us. We drove over an hour to try Bean Counter Bakery after receiving multiple recommendations. We had high expectations and were definitely not disappointed. Alice is wonderful; she has so many amazing flavors and worked with us to come up with a cake that looked classy but also reflected our style/preferences. We ended up going with a pretty untraditional wedding cake (chocolate with mocha filling and ganache frosting) and it was a huge hit. Given that she had worked with our venue before, she was actually able to offer us a topping that typically we wouldn’t be able to get in summer. I think the best way to evaluate their quality is the fact that due to covid, our numbers for our wedding were down from 120 to 70 guests. We still ordered enough cake for all 120 thinking we could enjoy our leftovers for weeks after the wedding. The cake was so popular that we had ended up with just a few slices left over, which disappeared quickly over the course of the night. We are very happy we went with Bean Counter Bakery, and will be returning in coming years for some anniversary cake!

Alice and her team are amazing at what they do. She's been doing this for decades, and has made cakes of all different types and sizes. We ended up having a two layer cake for about 80 people that was light on the frosting and emphasized some natural flowers. Bean Counter Bakery delivered from Worcester to our venue at The Oceanview of Nahant in their special cake-mobile, and they beautifully decorated the cake with flowers left form our florist. There are so many details about the wedding cake that Bean Counter Bakery has mastered. For example, our pinterest cake pins were a lot of four layer cakes, so there were some artistic subtleties that needed to be addressed translating designs to a two layer cake. Alice automatically saw that and was really patient explaining and drawing pictures to us. Our families were also blown away by how the cake tasted; they were expecting a cake that was too sweet or too dense, whereas the cake ended up just being delicious.

The Bean Counter did a wonderful job on my wedding cake for my micro wedding. Alice was so easy to work with and really made my vision come true. It was perfect! Not only was the cake beautiful but it was also absolutely delicious. The cake was so moist and the white chocolate raspberry filling was to die for. People were raving about how delicious it was. We can’t wait for our big reception in July to have another wedding cake from The Bean Counter! Highly recommend!

Amazing! We were planning to get a small cake just to cut for our wedding (as our venue provided cupcakes for the guests), but after our tasting we knew we HAD to upgrade and get a bigger cake because it tasted so amazing and the prices were a steal! The entire cake was gone before our wedding ended, we weren’t even able to freeze a piece for our anniversary because the guests devoured it all!! We eat desserts often and still, a year later, talk about how our cake was the best we’ve ever had!

I loved our cake, it was exactly what I asked for and tasted delicious. They were extremely accommodating with guests who had allergies and gluten sensitivity. Everything tasted amazing, the delivery service was great, planning went smoothly. Will come back again for any desserts needed.
