Bear Brook Bakery

magined and more. She’s truly an artist.

Bakery for giving us that option - once I saw photos of her work and menu on her website, I wanted no one else and I'm ecstatic she was available and worked with us. Melissa's desserts were honestly one of my favorite parts of the day. Like...second to actually getting to marry my husband. I was getting ready as she dropped things off and set up so I didn't get to see them until I walked into the reception and I was absolutely blown away. The cookies, cake shooters, mini pies, etc. that we ordered looked absolutely tantalizing. Everything was delicious but my personal favorite of the treats that night were the vanilla bean tarts topped with fresh fruit. They were perfection. I loved, too, that multiple guests came up to me at the reception to rave about the dessert bar and how delicious everything was. My dad, who had initially been a little put off that I wasn't doing a traditional cake, came up to me after a few minutes at the dessert bar to tell me that the mini blueberry pies were amazing and he wouldn't doubt me again (haha). For me, wedding cakes have never been memorable. Having been to a dozen weddings in my life, I just don't remember any individual cakes tasting great or looking so beautiful that they stuck in my mind. Melissa's dessert bar though? I don't see myself or my guests forgetting that anytime soon. Melissa, you're amazing and if I were planning this wedding again, I wouldn't work with anyone else for desserts.

f baked goods to choose from which we added in addition to our cake. We had cannolis, lemon tarts, brownie bits and mini gluten-free cheesecakes. Everyone LOVED the small desserts - they were gone by the end of the night! She is so meticulous with her work from the cake design to setting up the display table.I trusted her whole-heartedly to work her magic and help bring our vision to life!

sting, she met us in the middle of nowhere during a wedding delivery to give us tasting boxes - which was super appreciated since we live 2 states away. She created a super delicious expresso buttercream for us, and ended up making two different flavors of cake (chocolate with espresso buttercream, and vanilla with salted caramel buttercream). The cake got rave reviews and guests said it was absolutely delicious. I never got to try it, but my husband ate like 6 pieces. And for our anniversary I can't wait to eat the top layer!

outstanding and so delicious . Can’t recommend enough!

s also wonderful to work with throughout the planning and tasting process. Melissa also made us cupcakes, cookies and whoopie pies for our dessert bar - they were all delicious and beautiful! Highly recommend!

u SO EXCITED for your big day) to her level of detail and expertise in her work, you will be truly blown away. My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw our wedding cake (all guests had the same reaction.) The delicious dessert buffet was the cherry on top - from mini pies, cannoli's, brownies, fruit tarts, JUST WOW. There was not a dessert left by the end of the night. I am so thankful we were connected to Melissa, she truly made it so so special and something we will never forget! <3

fferent cake, buttercream, and filling combinations - and it was so much fun to pick a combination that feels really unique to us as a couple. I wanted a dried, pressed flower design on my cake, and Melissa worked with my florist to get flowers that would mimic the florals in our bouquets and table arrangements. She absolutely knocked it out of the park! Would recommend Bear Brook Bakery to any bride - Melissa's talent is extraordinary and she was lovely to work with.

ith her again for another event!

ing our planning process, so unfortunately we couldn’t take part in the classic cake tasting festivities… but that was no problem for Melissa! They sent us samples of different cakes and frostings right to our home, which made for the perfect night at home with my now-husband. We selected the classic vanilla cake (so rich in flavor) with alternating layers of maple & salted caramel frosting and ohhhh my was it AMAZING! The cake was like no other… it was thick and very filling…Bear Brook designed the cake just as we imagined it would look and Melissa did such a great job applying the flowers that our florist left for her. We couldn’t have asked for a better bakery to create our wedding cake! :)

t. The chocolate chip cookies were fine, but what our guests are still talking about are the triple layer brownies, especially the mint. Absolutely delicious! The only issue we had was the delivery time was much too early—something came up and our delivery time was changed last-minute from mid afternoon to early morning. If we had been in an indoor venue it would have been fine, but our venue was outdoors in a barn, so unfortunately this mishap meant our cake almost completely melted/fell apart by the time of our reception. We had to change our timeline and cut the cake early, and after dinner most guests (including the bride and groom) could not get a piece of cake as much had to be thrown away. That was a huge disappointment, but definitely not anything to do with the quality of the desserts—just a suggestion to brides to make sure to firmly schedule delivery and make sure it’s appropriate for your venue, weather, fridge access, etc.

guests RAVED about how beautiful everything looked and how delicious everything tasted. She was responsive and very professional in all of our correspondences. We can’t recommend her enough!

s I worked through ideas and changed my mind many times. In the end, I was completely in awe of the cake and felt almost guilty cutting into it, but it was also delicious. We made each layer a different flavor and each has been delightful (we've been eating our leftovers for the last few days). I thoroughly recommend using Bear Brook Bakery for your wedding or other event.

well in a temperature-controlled container and everything transported well. The cakes were moist and delicious, even after going through the mail. We then hired Melissa to bake cupcakes for our wedding. From baking the cakes, to making the frosting, to topping the cupcakes with adorable decorations, Melissa blew us away. We went with chocolate cake, white sweet almond cake, and an especially delicious old spice cake (think coffee cake). The variety in flavors pleased our guests and made for gorgeous photos as well! Melissa is a delight to work with. She is kind, informative, communicates quickly and directly, and is amazing in the kitchen and at the venue setting her cakes up. I look forward to working with Melissa on future events, such as birthdays and other special occasions. If you're looking for a wedding baker, look no further than Melissa of Bear Brook Bakery!

and her cake vision is truly amazing!!!!!!

id it look amazing, it tasted delicious as well. So many flavors of cake a frosting to choose from, and affordable!

us many options for different tiers sizes and configurations until we found the just right one, and was extremely easy to work with throughout. The cake tasting box was incredible and the perfect way to choose our flavors. That's when we knew we had really made the right choice because everything we tried was absolutely delicious! We went with almond and vanilla but couldn't have gone wrong with any of the flavors. Melissa was also great about working with our florist to adorn the cake with fresh cut flowers and it was exactly how we had envisioned it. Our guests raved about how delicious the cake was, going out of their way to tell us how exceptional this was. We'd highly recommend Melissa to bake your cake for any event!

esigns are impressive and her cake/frostings are amazing! She captured our vision perfectly for our ceremonial wedding cake and cupcakes! We absolutely adore her peanut butter buttercream and chocolate cake as well as her maple buttercream and old fashioned spice cake. We would highly recommend Bear Brook Bakery for any event you may have upcoming!

nut butter frosting on the bottom tier, and lemon cake with blueberry frosting on top. I don't know which I liked better, but you better believe I had a slice of each! Thank you, Melissa, for helping to make my big day an unforgettable one.

. I would strongly recommend her for to anyone looking for a beautiful cake either for their wedding or any other occasion!
