I was extremely disappointed by my experience here, especially since this venue was at the top of my list.
I called ahead a few days before visiting and spoke with a staff member ...
who was very kind and helpful. She told me that I didn’t need an appointment and that a booklet would be left at the front for me to pick up when I arrived. She also provided three specific available dates for 2025, which made me even more excited to come see the venue.
However, when I arrived three days later, the experience was completely different. I was not greeted and instead felt stared at by the wedding coordinator, Shelly. I politely explained the conversation I had previously, but she refused to give me the booklet I had been told would be available.
When I mentioned the dates I was given over the phone, her response was simply, “Well, they told you wrong,” followed by, “I’m not going to give you a booklet since it’s going to change anyway.” Her tone and demeanor were dismissive and unprofessional, and the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome—to the point that I left in tears.
I understand that miscommunications can happen, but the way this situation was handled was disappointing and lacked basic courtesy. For such an important and emotional event like a wedding, customer service matters deeply. Based on this experience, I would not feel confident trusting this venue with such an important day.
The Beaufort Historic Site was the most perfect venue for our wedding day. We had our ceremony (~100 people) in the backyard of the Manson House and our tented reception in the mai...
n lawn area of the Historic Site on Turner St. The director and team at the site were so easy and nice to work with, always promptly answered my questions, and were happy to accommodate all of our wishes for our wedding day- they love to help couples execute their perfect wedding vision! The wedding day ran so smoothly and we are so grateful for their coordination with all of our vendors. I'd highly recommend the Beaufort Historic Site as a fun, unique, and intimate wedding venue!

Could not recommend Beaufort Historic Site more! Such a perfect venue and location, and Patricia and Denise were amazing to work with from start to finish. Love, love, love!!
My husband and I both wanted a fun reception in downtown Beaufort that would easily accessible for guests and a beautiful setting. The Beaufort Historic Site was perfect for so ma...
ny reasons! First, working to secure the venue was a breeze. The staff was very quick in answering questions. They even offered suggestions about tent placement, restrooms, parking, etc. based on experiences with other events. It was always a pleasure talking with any of the staff during the planning of our wedding reception. The grounds of the historic site make for an absolutely beautiful backdrop for any occasion, but especially a wedding reception. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the gardens and green areas were stunning! Our guests loved the historic aspect of the site and the convenience to other amenities and lodging was great. We also rented the double decker bus which is a MUST! The bus picked me and my parents up and drove us to the wedding ceremony site. This was such a memorable time for us because everyone was waving and offering congratulations as we drove through the quaint downtown. The bus then picked up my husband and me and took us around Beaufort for photos. This was also a very special time because we were able to spend the first hour as newlyweds being chauffeured around the town to all of the most scenic spots for photos.
Our wedding was absolutely everything we imagined and we could not have been more thrilled with the setting of the Beaufort Historic Site and the uniqueness of the double decker bus! Both are musts if getting married in Beaufort!
What an absolutely perfect venue this was for my wedding. My husband and I were looking for something affordable, pretty, and relaxed for us to have our reception at. Every step of...
the process was easy and exactly what we were looking for. They allowed us to set up the day before and clean up the morning after. We were able to select vendors and get our own liquor license to help make things cheaper for us in the end. All of the staff here we're wonderful from start to end and I couldn't recommend the Beaufort historic site more. We had a perfect day.
