advanced notice. It's true that there isn't a huge selection of a dresses you could find anywhere else, instead there are a number of hand crafted unique designs I haven't seen anywhere else. I didn't want shopping for my wedding dress to feel like going to a department store, and beautiful brides delivers being a locally owned independent business that really cares about their customers and their dresses. Before you try on dresses you look through the selection and choose your top four which helps to focus you on what you actually want without getting overwhelmed by how many gorgeous options there are. There is also a lovely selection of hair accessories, purses, and vails to complete the look that are worth a stop at the store even if you found your dress somewhere else. I couldn't be happier that I ended up going to Beautiful Brides to find my stunning dress and had Rebecca to help guide me through the process including being fitted and choosing the best size to order.

The dress was nice (though filthy, and they refused to clean it up at all - comes as-is), and a fair price, but I should have known better than to get talked into something that didn't fit (and wouldn't be made to fit by a seamstress associated with the store, which Beautiful Brides does not have). I wasted a lot of time & money trying to make it work (the recommended seamstress was located an hour north of Madison). I would not recommend them, compared to many more pleasant shopping experiences elsewhere.

I went on a weekday when it was less busy and got great service. If you are on a budget and want to look for a sample dress this would be a good stop. They also had a lot of regular priced dresses too, so if you're not sure, you may want to stop. I liked the experience.

She ended up pulling a dress off a mannequin that I would never have picked for myself, but once I had it on, I knew it was one!
The service was just OK. We put in a rush order because of the timing of the wedding, and the estimated delivery date changed a couple times. Whenever I'd call to check in, they couldn't really tell me why the date was being pushed back, and they basically asked me to stop calling and relax. The final estimate for the dress was "late August" and it arrived 10 minutes before their store closed on Aug. 31. Talk about down to the wire. I wasn't totally thrilled with their service, but I still loved my dress and would recommend their selection. May be better for brides with more time (our engagement was only 8 months).

I ended up purchasing the first dress I tried on there. The material was much better quality than the dresses I had tried on at David's Bridal.
The negative comment about this store is they don't put the designers on the labels of their dresses. They wouldn't tell me who made the dress until after I purchased it and when they told me, the woman came out from behind the counter and whispered it into my ear so no one else would hear the name. They also didn't want us taking pictures until after the dress was purchased. I understand not wanting to lose business by people trying the dress on and purchasing it elsewhere. I just wanted to be able to look up my dress online while I was waiting for 6 months for it to come in.

when it was scheduled to be delivered. The fact that there is no alterations on site here you had to look elsewhere which can be tricky. I then asked the store if they could steam my dress before the wedding and it took a couple of days before I heard anything back, and that was me calling them back to get an answer. I believe most of the time this place has friendly staff, especially Rebecca. However, they need to have better training so all employees know the policies and how they work.

kind, patient, and so wonderful to work with. I got both my dress and veil from Beautiful Brides, and both were perfect and exactly what I wanted. The incorrect length of veil had actually originally accidentally been ordered, but when I mentioned it to them they switched it out for the correct one immediately. Both the veil and the dress took a little longer to come in than originally estimated to me by the shop, (the dress was 1 month later, the veil about a week later); however whenever I called to check on the status, the consultants kindly updated me on the status and the new arrival date. I loved this shop and would recommend it!
