Beautiful Bustles alterations by Meghan Hicks

If you are looking for someone to alter your wedding dress, Meghan is your girl! I called her after I picked my dress up from another alteration shop, almost ready to cry. I explained the dress I have now just doesn’t make me feel beautiful and it doesn’t fit like it did the day I first tried it on. I was at a loss, and only three weeks from my wedding day. After a phone call, Meghan welcomed me into her home where she works, listened to much dreams for the dress, how I envisioned it, and brought it all to life. She even offered to custom make new straps for me. The experience I had with her was beyond wonderful. My dress fit like a glove, the bustle was beautiful and I felt like a true princess. And it was all finished ahead of schedule. I can’t thank her enough!

SEARCH NO FURTHER: If I could give Meghan 10 stars I would. My dress was very intricate with long sleeves & illusion mesh and Meghan made it fit like a GLOVE. I lost weight after the initial fitting, and Meghan ended up taking it in 3 times! I felt horrible for this, but she didn’t bat an eye. She actually made me feel amazing for my progress. Not only did she get it just right, but she was so wonderful and supportive in the process. I’m very indecisive & not a bustle fan, but it was necessary for my long chiffon skirt. Meghan found the perfect balance & pinned countless styles for me until I found one I was happy with. I can’t thank her enough for her patience. She’s very responsive and treats you like a friend every time you see her. I loved my dress fittings! Working with Meghan was the best decision I could have made for my wedding gown – I will recommend her to everyone I know!!

Meghan is absolutely the best seamstress I could have ever asked for. She is someone who will listen to your dreams for your dress, and offer her expertise to help create the most beautiful, perfect wedding dress. She is both an artist and a professional, and cares to the very last detail. I am so glad I trusted her with my wedding dress and had the pleasure of working with her. She was a listener and a friend during the wedding planning process. On a more logistic note, she is very prompt in all communication and mostly does so they texting. You typically make an appointment with he by text/phone and then meet her at her house for fittings. She is extremely professional and so kind. Thanks for everything Meghan! My wedding dress couldn’t have turned out more perfect.

Meghan is phenomenal! I took her my dress thinking all I needed was a hem, but she made it look so much better and fit like a glove. I was planning my wedding from out of town, so I had a limited number of times I could come in for fittings, and a pretty tight schedule. Meghan was able to fit me in multiple times in the week leading up to the big day. You can definitely put your trust in Meghan to make you look fabulous in your wedding dress!

Meghan is fabulous! I looked forward to going to her house for my dress fittings each and every time - she always made me feel special like I was the only bride she was working with and I always left more and more excited for my wedding. She completely redid my dress and made it my own; I could not have been happier.

Meghan is truely amazing. I was nervous to be a bridesmaid and to wear a bridesmaid dress at my age. She made the dress look and fit perfectly. She also worked around my crazy schedule to get me in when I had time available. She is so welcoming and friendly, and she makes the whole dress alteration experience a good one. I would go back to her in a heartbeat!!

Meghan goes above and beyond. It starts off going to her house which she makes you feel so welcome in! She goes over every detail. Things I would never in my wildest dreams think of. She takes the time to really listen to your concerns and ideas. I didn't think it was possible to love my dress more than the day I chose it, but picking it up and putting it on for that final fitting where everything fits just right was amazing! At first I didn't think I'd want a belt as my dress had a lot of beading. She showed me some ideas and we ended up adding a beautiful belt which she hand made and fit my dress perfectly. She truly loves what she does and it shows. I'd recommend her again and again!

Meghan is amazing. I brought her my dress thinking that it only needed a couple of adjustments and it would be “fine”. She has SUCH an eye for detail and took care of every single thing, that I didn’t even see in the beginning, to make sure that my dress fit me like a glove. It was altered exactly to my body and my style and I couldn’t be happier with how my dress fit on my wedding day. She was great with setting appointments well in advance and had my dress ready with plenty of time to spare. I would highly encourage anyone to visit her for alterations (my husband even has her tailor his pants :) ).

Meghan is nothing short of a miracle worker. She took a disaster of a bridesmaids dress I had to wear, and fit it perfectly to my body, making sure to consider everything I said, no matter how small. At one of the fittings she offered to take the straps in maybe 1/4 of an inch, which I feel like so many other people would have overlooked. She is great to work with and made me feel beautiful in something I originally cried in when trying it on! I’ll never go to anyone else for alterations, she’s the best.

She was very well recommended with multiple sources. Meghan was very down to earth, very quick turn around and if I had issues she would have been there to fix or sew it back together. I couldn’t have ask for a better person to trust my wedding dress with.

Meghan was such a pleasure to work with!! She genuinely cares about her work and and takes time to get to know the brides. I appreciated her willingness to make sure the dress was altered exaxtly how I wanted it. It turned out beautifully. The best part, she made a titorial for my MOH on how to properly lace up the back, tuck the strings, and fasten my bustle. I would highly recommend her!

Meghan is amazing. She altered my wedding dress, my mom's mother of the bride dress, and my dress for engagement pictures, and I'm coming back to have her alter my dress for a wedding I'm in this winter. My wedding dress was a couple sizes too big for me when I bought it, and I never would have imagined that it could look as great as it did by the time that Meghan was done with it. Not only is she great at what she does, but Meghan also cares about each of her clients as individuals and goes out of her way to make you feel beautiful, as well as look beautiful. I enjoyed every one of my fittings and always left feeling like a million bucks. I would (and have) recommend Meghan to anyone without hesitation, and she's found loyal clients in both me an my mom.

Meghan is a dress savor! After having my dress at another seamstress for almost 3 months, meghan was able to fix all the issues and give me back the dress i bought! She also searched all of her fabric scraps to find exact material from Mori Lee that my lace was made out to fix the mistakes and incorrect lace from the other seamstress....did i mention in 4 days, the week of my wedding? She was also able to fix the loose lace around my neckline that I was not was not fixable before. She's a rockstar! Super sweet, honest and willing to go above and beyond!

Meghan is awesome!! I seriously can't say enough great things about her and her work. Not only is she super sweet, she's great to work with too. Meghan altered both my wedding and rehearsal dresses and they turned out perfect. Both were strapeless, and because of her, I didn't have to worry about pulling or tugging up on my dress all night (which would have been annoying). Seriously, it fit that perfect! She also made my vail, which was gorgeous. I would definitely recommend Meghan to any of my friends, brides, mothers of brides, etc. and I will be calling her in the future if I ever need any alterations again! She rocks!!!

My family and I absolutely love Meghan. You see, my niece has always been a big part of my life so it was important to me that she have a custom made dress that replicated mine. She made it PERFECT! She also made my junior bridesmaid dresses from scratch. Having a wedding of 300+ ppl at the Selbach on NYE is stressful enough. But honestly Meghan was ALWAYS calm but more importantly she was excited. Sometimes more excited than myself. Which helped me stop and realize what exactly this day is about. She was a blessing to me and I know she will be a blessing to anyone else who uses her!

Meghan is AMAZING! I purchased the dress of my dreams off the rack and it was way too big. Meghan beautifully took it from a size 10 to a size 0! She also created a gorgeous cross strap with the extra flowers from my dress, creating the PERFECT enhancement! On the day of my wedding, Meghan was there to get me in my dress and make sure everything was perfect for my special day! Meghan went above and beyond all expectations to make sure every detail of my dress was flawless! I recommend Meghan to EVERYONE!

. I was excited to find Meghan because of all the great reviews on this site, However I was sadly mistaken. I brought my dress to her to have it alerted. I wasn’t looking for anything crazy, just a few minor alterations, and I needed the top of the dress to be adjusted to fit. I went to her on four occasions. The at the second fitting she attempted to fit the top to me but by doing this she made is to small. The dress was so tight that I could not breathe in it. I called her after the appointment and let her know I was worried about it and she let the dress out. However I still have the problem with the top being to big. We talked about altering the top another way. When I went back for a third fitting she did take the dress out but the top was still too big. She told me that the dress was just too big for me. We talked about cutting down the top of the cups on the sweetheart neckline and adding cups into the dress for more support. She was also working on altering my underskirt of the dress, I asked her to trim it to my knees and make it fit more closely to the body. When I went back for my last fitting the top was to big still and the underskirt was bunching. I let her know about the top and she told me it was bc I was small chested and she told me the reason the underskirt was bunching was bc it was stuck on something. When I got home with the dress I immediately tried it on again the area where she took the top of the cups down the sticking was so haphazardly done it looked like a mess , none of the lines in the dress were even the stitching was not straight. The skirt did not fit at all. I took it immediately to another seamstress who told me the dress could not be fixed. SO A WEEK BEFORE MY WEDDING I HAD TO BUY A NEW DRESS. I reached out to Meghan to let her know what happened and that I was requesting a refund of the alterations and for the cost of the dress. She did offer to fix the dress for me. I sent her the pictures of the dress and her work and what I was told. She said it was fixable and would be happy to adjust it for me. I explained to her after seeing the quality of work that was put into the dress already that I did not feel comfortable with her doing any more work on the dress and that I did not trust her word over the other professional. She did refund me that night for the alterations but refused to refund me for the dress. It is disappointing and shocking that someone who has been doing this for 10 years would produce such poor work. I wish I had the ability to post pictures so people can how haphazard the work was.

Meghan went above and beyond to make sure my dress was exactly as I'd wanted it. She was very flexible with my schedule and I felt so comfortable with her. I would recommend her to anyone, anytime!

Meghan has been a delight to work with! She has been incredibly accommodating with my schedule and has done wonders to alter my gown. Doing the alterations out of her home has made my experience very comfortable and I found her quality an excellent deal for the price she charged. Meghan has also made herself available for the day of to make sure the entire party is looking their best! I would 100% recommend Meghan for anyone looking for any alterations.

Meghan works magic. I had a lace gown I bought on clearance that needed the shoulders taken in, and she took the lace apart, made the alterations, then put it back together and it was not obvious at all. I couldn't tell you where she did it. Then she worked her bustle magic so that I danced the night away. Meghan made this plus-sized woman look amazing, and she's so sweet. It's like having your girlfriend as your very own fashion-designer. She's worth the drive from Cincinnati to use her.
