If you come from an Indian or Middle Eastern family, don’t bother booking with her. During my appointment, she openly complained that families “like that” are too much trouble to deal with because of her recent experiences. That alone should’ve been enough for me to leave. Also, if you have cool or neutral undertones, be warned that she will not match that. Before my trial, I sent inspiration photos and specifically asked whether I’d need extensions or extra hair pieces to achieve the look. I’m a wig stylist myself, so I already knew these styles need support. She assured me she had everything needed. When I arrived, she spent around 20 minutes on her phone before starting. I tried to be understanding, but the attitude throughout the appointment became increasingly cold and dismissive. The hairstyle looked nothing like my references. I asked for a romantic textured updo with soft ringlets and an S-curve bang. Instead, she improvised with old braiding hair and awkward curls that couldn’t even hold the shape properly. Nearly two hours in, after struggling the entire appointment, she finally admitted I would need extensions to achieve the look I originally asked for. That should’ve been discussed beforehand, not after charging full price for the trial. When I got home and took my hair down, I counted 69 bobby pins shoved into my scalp. Several were placed so badly they were painfully digging into my head and left me with a splitting headache. The makeup itself was just okay. She seems used to doing the same face on everyone instead of working with people’s actual features. She heavily overlined my lips even though I naturally have full lips already, and from the side it looked ridiculous. I asked for a satin finish, but got flat matte makeup that aged me. The blush placement dragged my face downward, the eye blending didn’t suit my eye shape, and she didn’t even have proper products for my complexion. No cool or neutral contour shades, and the foundation wasn’t full coverage enough for bridal makeup. Weeks beforehand, I had specifically asked for a glitter cut crease. When the appointment came, she didn’t even have the right glitter and used lip gloss on my eyelids instead, which felt greasy and uncomfortable the entire day. What bothered me most was how she made me feel during the appointment. Every time I tried to speak up or question something, I somehow walked away feeling like I was the problem. By the end, I was more worried about being “easy to work with” than whether I actually liked what I was paying for. Even though the appointment was clearly going badly, she kept reminding me how booked artists already were for December weddings, which made me feel pressured into committing before I’d even processed how unhappy I was. The appointment also ran far overtime because she spent most of it answering calls, texts, and voice messages. At one point, another client was left waiting almost two hours past their appointment time. Trust your gut. Don’t let anyone pressure you into paying a deposit before you’ve had time to process the experience.
