Elizabeth truly embodies everything you could ever want from a bridal makeup artist. She has a natural approach to makeup, which was perfect for someone like me who does not wear a lot of makeup normally and wanted to feel like an elevated version of myself. The calm energy she brought the morning of really helped to set the mood for the day - one of my bridesmaids said it was the most relaxed getting ready rooms she had ever been part of. She is also just so likable and easy to talk to, it felt like she was a just a normal friend hanging out with us lol. Elizabeth was also great with the moms, who both had more particular tastes about their makeup preferences. Everyone felt beautiful and the makeup lasted all night. In my opinion, Elizabeth is THE makeup artist in San Diego that you should be crossing your fingers is available for your wedding day.

Elizabeth did my makeup and my bridesmaid makeup for my wedding on May 31st 2024 I just wanted to let everyone know how beautiful she made me feel on the day of my wedding. Elizabeth is truly an artist who creates amazing makeup looks! At our trial she made sure that my concerns were heard, so by the time the wedding came around, my makeup was just perfect. Not only was it flawless, but it lasted all night long through hours of happy tears and dancing. My bridesmaids' makeup was also amazing. I'm so grateful for her artistry and experience, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for the perfect wedding day look.

Elizabeth did my makeup for my big day and she made me so beautiful!!! In my day-to-day life I don't wear makeup, so I was really nervous about what to do for my wedding makeup. I searched through a ton of different makeup vendors, but felt like most of their makeup was too much coverage for me. I found Elizabeth's instagram and I instantly LOVED the looks she showed on her page! I booked a trial run with her and she did such a great job!! I looked glowing and radiant, but still natural! The day of the wedding I brought a special shade of shimmer eyeshadow for her to incorporate into my look and she did it flawlessly! Plus she wasn't even phased when I asked to use my Dr. Pepper chapstick instead of lipstick (Sorry, it didn't really smell like Dr. Pepper anymore, ha!) Thank you Elizabeth for being so down-to-earth and easy going! You did such an amazing job on me, my mom, and my sister!!

Elizabeth was one of the first vendors I hired for my wedding. My photographer recommended her and I knew no matter what, I had to have her do my makeup for my wedding day! I had some so-so (and some worse) experiences having my makeup done and never felt like myself at those events, so I knew it was really important to like the way I looked and felt for my wedding day. I’m beyond happy to say that the makeup and vibes that Elizabeth brought to the wedding day were perfect. We had an early start to get everyone done and ready for photos, and we ran perfectly on time and no one was stressed. She also has bomb playlists for getting ready if you don’t want to make your own :) everyone was so glowy and beautiful and kept remarking on how good they felt. My maid of honor had a huge gash down her entire shin from a hiking accident the day before the wedding, and Elizabeth helped with making it look covered up - who knew we would need help with that, but so glad she was there to support! We had a big enough group and a short time frame to warrant a second makeup artist to help, and Elizabeth picked the best makeup artist that complemented her style. Everyone’s makeup lasted through the day and night (and through a surprise hour long rainstorm at our fully outdoor venue). I’ve now down makeup lessons with her after the wedding because I want to look like my wedding day self at home too. Cannot recommend Elizabeth enough!!!

TLDR: My experience with Elizabeth was incredible from start to finish, worth every penny and more, I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! My experience with Elizabeth was absolutely AMAZING and I cannot recommend her enough! I struggled with finding a makeup artist, because I don't know much about makeup and I really wanted someone who could capture my vibe (which is more natural), but still make me feel more elevated and beautiful for my special day. I heard about Elizabeth through a friend (who also had an amazing experience), and I was so grateful that I found her. Elizabeth is extremely professional. I had to reschedule about 3 different times for our trial, because I was in the midst of transitioning jobs and I did not have a set schedule. She was so gracious with me in finding a time that worked out. She was so easy to communicate with -- timely, clear, and super helpful! Elizabeth is an incredibly talented artist! I wanted a soft but elevated look, and she completely captured my vision. I looked and felt like me, AND I felt more elegant and beautiful with her amazing makeup. She can definitely do any look you are going for, and she was so good at listening to my very specific wants and needs. I really appreciated her attention to detail and her versatility. Elizabeth is seriously the kindest and calmest person! On your big day, you want to be as stress-free as you can. Hiring Elizabeth was such a win, because her calm presence totally helped the vibes as we all got ready in the morning. Side note: we had a minor cake fiasco, and Elizabeth helped give advice on how to make things work! It's great having people there who have so much wedding experience that they just have insight and advice for all the wedding things. Altogether, I completely recommend hiring Elizabeth for your wedding. I treated my bridesmaids (and my two-year-old niece) to getting their makeup done by her, and everyone felt so special and had a wonderful experience with her. Thank you Elizabeth!

Elizabeth was recommended to me by a couple of people, and I am SO grateful that Elizabeth was available to do my makeup for my wedding day. I could tell from her website and in talking with Elizabeth, she would be perfect to help me look beautiful on my big day while keeping a very natural look. Right from the start, Elizabeth was very responsive and highly communicative, and her website is great. I was living out of town, so she squeezed me in for a trial a few days before my wedding in SD. I rarely wear makeup and was nervous I wouldn't look like myself, but the trial was perfect! With just one inspo photo I had, she nailed it! She provided helpful tips for everyone ahead of my wedding day and was easy to work with when locking in timelines and schedules. Come wedding day, Elizabeth exceeded everyone's expectations! All my bridesmaids and my mom loved their makeup and felt so beautiful while looking like their natural selves as well. Despite the chaos of everyone getting ready, Elizabeth brought her calm and fun energy and was very time efficient. She listened and delivered what everyone wanted and made us all feel absolutely beautiful. Even though I am not used to wearing a lot of makeup, I felt comfortable all day and night. I highly, highly recommend Elizabeth!

The second I saw Elizabeth's website and portfolio, I knew I needed to have her for my November 2023 wedding. As someone who does not wear any makeup in my day-to-day life, the thought of getting making professionally done was daunting. Because of this, I was seeking a makeup artist who really excelled at the "natural" look and it was important to me that I didn't feel like I was covered in a full face of makeup. Elizabeth checked all of those boxes and more! She is a natural-look extraordinaire! I felt light, I felt natural, and most importantly she helped me feel extra beautiful on my wedding day. I had a wedding on a Saturday and I did pay the minimum booking fee for 6 people, despite only having 4 people (including myself) to do makeup for. It was worth every single penny, and I would have paid that minimum just for myself for the opportunity to have Elizabeth do my makeup. I was also able to schedule my trial session the day of my engagement photos which worked out really well. Elizabeth is also the epitome of cool, calm, and collected (extra emphasis on the cool). Take my advice: stop your MUA search here and book Elizabeth ASAP!!

Wow, where to even start with Elizabeth! She was the most amazing makeup artist I have ever worked with, and I felt beyond beautiful on the day of my wedding. Elizabeth truly listened to what I wanted, and I felt natural, beautiful and like myself walking down the aisle. I didn't want a natural, effortless makeup look - and she did just that. Elizabeth was so helpful with small things even when she was done with my makeup, like providing a pin so my veil wouldn't fall. I would highly recommend Elizabeth, she's the best!

Working with Elizabeth was just amazing! I got married in October 2023, and I hired Elizabeth to do the makeup for myself, my mom, and my bridesmaids. Elizabeth just did the makeup for my wedding and it was just perfect! She did makeup for me (the bride), my sisters and my mother and mother-in-law. Once I met Elizabeth, I immediately knew she was the person we all needed for the wedding morning getting-ready process. Her personality brings joy, her presence is calming, and her talent is unmatched. After tons of searching, I found her, and she was available to help me, last minute, with my engagement photoshoot makeup. She came to my little apartment with her set up, she handled my hyper golden doodle with grace, and the look she gave me made me feel radiant and gave me confidence. Our photos were at sunset on the beach, and she gave me a perfect, natural, golden-hour glow. She took the time to do individual lashes. I had never had them before, and they were the perfect boost without being too much. On the morning of our wedding, she showed up early to set up. She was patient and helped me take care of the space in my mother-in-law's house to make sure it stayed clean. She elevated everyone’s natural beauty in a unique way. Everyone felt no pressure with Elizabeth, enjoyed their time with her, and thought their makeup was beautiful, not too heavy, and it lasted all night for all of us. She did individual lashes for everyone in my 6-person group. Everyone was happy and there was nothing for me to worry about thanks to Elizabeth. She even made my little flower girl feel special and let her sit in the makeup chair and gave her a little look. She felt like a princess. For my makeup, she remembered my engagement shoot look and gave me the same beautiful glow but elevated it to my dream bridal look. She was also very generous with her time and made sure we had a lunch plan and then gave us time to eat before she did our final touch-ups—a game changer that I was not expecting but greatly appreciated.

I literally cannot say enough positive things about Elizabeth! If you want a natural makeup look and a calming aurora from your makeup artist look no further! From the very first time I contacted her, I felt at ease with leaving one of the most important aspects of my wedding day in her hands (make-up). She is so calming and easy to work with, she is super professional and answered all my questions and handled all my concerns with ease. On the wedding day itself, Elizabeth showed up a little early as to be sure no one felt rushed. She had this calming aura about her even amidst the hectic schedule of the pre-wedding getting ready timeline. She is also a true artist and expert in her field and took extra special care not only on my make-up, but also my mom's, my MIL, and my grandmother in law. All of us loved our make up so much and everyone had nothing but positive things to say! I was concerned about having too much make-up or not looking like myself, but all concerns melted away at my trial. I had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth for my wedding this past July and I absolutely loved her! She is fantastic on so many levels - from her makeup artistry to professionalism and strong communication, I enjoyed working with her throughout the entire process (she's also a lovely person in general!). She was extremely responsive when it came to scheduling a makeup trial and helping plan out the schedule for the day of the wedding; you can tell that she's done this many times before which made me feel at ease :). During both the makeup trial and the wedding day, she did a great job of taking my photo inspirations and ideas into crafting a beautiful wedding look. Elizabeth is known for creating makeup looks that enhance your natural beauty and she definitely helped bring that to life. Leading up to the wedding, she also sent helpful tips on how to best prepare for the wedding (e.g. hydration and skincare prep). If you are considering her for a wedding or any event in general, I would highly recommend her (I would love to work with her again if an occasion comes up!)

Elizabeth is so wonderful! She was the perfect calming presence that I needed on the morning of my wedding. She listened to my desires, and fulfilled them perfectly. I have a lot of freckles, that can tend to get completely covered with some basic makeup. I really didn't want them covered for my wedding, so it's a bit of a tricky challenge for me (a non-professional at makeup) to even fulfill on the daily. Elizabeth was amazing! All of my girls were raving about her! I had my trial with her, I went in with a look that didn't quit suit my face haha. On the wedding day I totally switched it up, told her exactly what I wanted without even showing a picture and y'all she NAILED IT! I seriously can't express how happy I was, my makeup was literally perfect, lasted the WHOLE night, and I'm talking through ceremony tears, and reception dance-sweat lol! I also want to praise her for one of my girls! One of my bridesmaids has darker skin, and she hates getting her makeup done because they always go very orange with her. We reached out to Elizabeth beforehand, she sent us photos, put my girl at complete ease, and on the day she looked freaking beautiful. She was so happy with her makeup! Elizabeth is also very easy to communicate with! This is SO important when picking a vendor! If I ever have any events in the future, definitely going back to her, loved her so much!

Elizabeth was amazing! You are supposed to look like the best version of yourself on your wedding day and she did just that! Not over done not costumey but highlighted and enhanced everything I wanted while also making me look picture perfect! My mother who was a professional makeup artist for 25 years agrees! Liz did her make up as well and she was so happy! All of the ladies in my wedding were thrilled and they all had different styles and color palettes. Elizabeth is AMAZING! I was too excited to sleep a wink the night before our wedding and woke up crying because I was afraid that I was going to look like a zombie. However, after Elizabeth had finished with me, I felt more beautiful and radiant than I ever had before. My mom, who had just finished chemo and didn't have much in the way of eyelashes or eyebrows, was also very pleased! Elizabeth is just a gem of a human and a makeup artist. I had been eyeing her work for a while - she is so versatile and can nail any styles, skin tones, etc. I wanted a more natural, but enhanced look for my wedding day and she executed just that. Elizabeth is seriously the best there is and made all 8 of us feel like the most beautiful versions of ourselves. As someone who doesn’t where makeup often I had trouble finding a makeup artist who was able to do a natural look that still made me look like me. At the trial I was blown away by how perfectly she executed what I was looking for and it was overall the most relaxing and fun experience. On the day off Elizabeth really set the tone for the day and made all 8 of us feel calm and beautiful! My bridesmaids now want to hire her for their wedding and that is truly the best feeling. I adore Elizabeth! I myself am a wedding photographer so I have worked with hundreds of hair + makeup artists in my career, and after working with her before, I knew I wanted to bring Elizabeth to do my own makeup for my wedding in Vegas. She has such a gift for making brides look flawless while still looking like themselves. I am super picky about my makeup and want a full coverage while still looking natural, and I knew she would crush that for me. She can also draw a cat eye sharp enough to kill a man. :)

FIVE STARS!!! If there were six, I’d give six. Lizzy is the queen of natural makeup and the “elevated you” look. If you’re wanting to look subtle, but still pop in photos, she’s your gal. The only other time I have gotten my makeup done was for prom and I felt like a caked on clown. I was so nervous about doing professional makeup again for my wedding. Elizabeth is incredibly easy to talk to. She brings the calmest, most laid back vibe (which is exactly what you’ll need on your wedding day). She listened to all my feedback after our trial, and made me feel incredibly beautiful on my wedding day. I was speechless. The moms and my girls all loved their makeup as well! Elizabeth was originally recommended to me by a friend who had used her for her wedding. Come to find out, my esthetician was also a bridesmaid in a wedding she did, and when an esthetician sings high praises of a makeup artist, you know it’s good! Elizabeth is a true artist and is so, so sweet.

Elizabeth Root is the QUEEN of bridal makeup and wedding day prep! Elizabeth did make up for both my sister's weddings and was absolutely incredible, so when it came to my day, I knew exactly who to go to! She is amazing to work with throughout the whole process - booking to the day of. She is such a pleasure to work with, but I cannot tell you enough how positive and valuable it is to have her with your bridal crew as you get ready. If you’re looking for stunning natural glam- Lizzy is the best!! Absolutely loved working with Lizzy. In both my trial and day of wedding I loved getting my makeup done and chatting with Lizzy. She is so laid back and fun, but simultaneously kept us totally on track schedule wise. She set an amazing tone for our morning and has the best energy! I wear a ton of makeup, especially eyeliner, every day. I wanted to do something similar for my wedding- a lot of makeup but make my skin look natural but with a ton of eyeliner. She absolutely nailed it. My makeup was flawless and lasted through our after party until 3 am. My mom and bridesmaids almost never wear makeup. She worked with everyone’s natural features to make them look like an elevated version of themselves. She is able to do the most amazing natural glam- no caking on makeup here to let everyone’s natural beauty shine through. Cannot recommend Lizzy enough- she truly is the best!!!

To be totally honest, I knew I wanted Elizabeth to do my wedding makeup before I even met my husband! She did the makeup for my sister-in-law's wedding and my sister's and she is THE BEST. As soon as I had my wedding date, she was the very first vendor that I booked. She's extremely talented. I have always felt so beautiful but also still completely myself when she's done my makeup. I don't wear much makeup normally, and I love a more natural look (but still a bit glam and special). Elizabeth nailed it for me and my whole wedding party. Also, she's so chill and sweet. She brought the BEST energy to the morning of the wedding. And she kept us on schedule. We even made it to the venue a bit early. If you're looking for a stellar makeup artist, LOOK NO MORE. Also, she did my makeup for our engagement session at the beach, and we ended up in the ocean. My makeup still looked great after swimming in the waves.

I had the sweet opportunity to hangout with Elizabeth 3 times this summer--1 trial, my friend's wedding as a bridesmaid, and my own wedding. The bridal parties and myself loved having our makeup done by Elizabeth. She is kind, calm, has great energy, and knows what she's doing! I have been scarred in the past by makeup artists doing too much and then I did not recognize myself. Not Elizabeth! She took note of my reference photos and worked with my palate. I felt totally myself with her makeup and beautiful!

I knew Elizabeth was the artist for me after she did my sister in laws makeup for her wedding. We all described the style as “still you, but elevated and glowing!”. I went to my makeup trial with Elizabeth, and while I was confident in her talent, you still get nervous when they go to give you the mirror to see the final look! I’ve had bad experiences in the past where I look in the mirror and go “who is that??”. When Elizabeth held up the mirror, I teared up, because it was exactly what I wanted. She not only nailed the makeup look I wanted (color, style, etc) but I looked like ME. Me…but elevated and glowing! The makeup on the day was was no exception. Everyone looked absolutely incredible, natural, and radiant. We all felt gorgeous. I felt so confident, and it lasted ALL NIGHT. Even after some hard dancing and sweating. Elizabeth is also so sweet, and a calm presence. She a gem, and made us all look amazing.

I've never felt so beautiful in my entire life! She used very high quality makeup and recreated the exact look I was going for. She responded to all of my messages in a timely manner, was on-time the day-of, and is just so completely sweet and easy to talk to (making what could be a very stressful morning getting 9 bridesmaids, a bride, and 3 MOBs ready into a stress-free and fun process)! I hired Liz as my makeup artist for my destination wedding in San Diego for my wedding party and I. She was communicative, prompt and collaborated well with my hair stylist for scheduling our individual time slots. I liked that she was easy going and conversational, which helped ground me on an otherwise hectic day. She also helped me choose a makeup look that suited me well and still looked flawless more than 8 hours later! I was so pleased with her work that I hired her again to do my makeup for additional wedding photos that we took offsite a few days after the wedding. Elizabeth is fantastic! I have never felt more beautiful and actually myself than when she did my makeup! She's 100% worth it. Elizabeth’s makeup is described as natural, but what she does is really make everything pop. You just feel slightly enhanced and not like you have piles of makeup you are drowning under. Cheeks more pronounced, eyes a little brighter, skin a little glowier, and still look like you. She did the small bridal party for sisters wedding, and none of the group normally wears a lot of makeup. After each woman was done, you could tell they were shocked at how much they loved her work. She makes you feel beautiful and feel yourself. Besides being a wonderful makeup artist, she brings so much more. She's extremely professional, on time, and a great communicator. After the trial with Elizabeth, I realized a lighter look suited me better and she was the one that recognized that and made me feel made up and pretty but still like myself. She also was so efficient at communicating leading up to the wedding and made a great schedule for day of. Elizabeth was amazing!! She did a great job with my wedding makeup and brought such great energy to the day. I cannot recommend Elizabeth enough! Elizabeth first did my makeup when I was a bridesmaid and I immediately knew that I needed her magic for my own wedding. I never wear makeup, don’t know anything about makeup, and didn’t know what I wanted beyond “natural looking.” Elizabeth ran with that at my trial, and I loved it! Elizabeth did an amazing job on not only my makeup but my bridesmaids! I barely wear any makeup on a daily basis, so when I was looking for a makeup artist I wanted someone who was able to do more of a natural look, that highlighted natural beauty… Lizzy nailed this look!! We did my trial for our engagement photos, which I loved how the makeup turned out. However, I did for my wedding decide I wanted a little more eye lashes, so my eyes would pop and she added just the right amount of individual lashes. The makeup lasted all night long and looked great till the end! 10 out of 10 recommend her to others and will use her again in the future!
