Beauty By Thao

was much appreciated for my wedding makeup look- she trimmed my hair to perfect the length and switched the type of lashes to fit the look. I cried A LOT the whole day but my makeup looked great at the end of the night! I am so thankful for Thao and Thy’s expertise.

a more stress-free experience. Thao was very easy to communicate with and helped me feel extremely comfortable on both the trial day as well as the day of the wedding. I don't usually wear much make-up, and so she was so helpful in guiding me through what I like and don't like about different styles so that I could feel really good about the look we ended up with. Everyone who got hair and make-up done loved their looks and I felt beautiful beyond perfect. We had fun working with you and you are an amazing artist! Thank you for an amazing job Thao!!

stress-free. She was also incredibly punctual on both the trial day and wedding day, which helped everything run smoothly. Thao did my bridal makeup and hair, as well as hair and makeup for my maid of honor, and we were both so happy with how everything turned out. She created the most beautiful Hollywood waves for me, and my maid of honor’s half-up, half-down hairstyle was absolutely gorgeous. What I appreciated most was how flexible and accommodating she was with style changes and adjustments. She really listened to what we wanted and made sure we felt confident and comfortable throughout the process. Beyond her talent, Thao has such a warm and calming personality, which is exactly what you want on your wedding day. Our hair and makeup lasted beautifully all day and photographed perfectly. I’m so grateful I found her and would highly recommend her to any bride looking for someone talented, professional, and wonderful to work with!

e day of the wedding, Thao kept me grounded when my nerves kicked in and even suggested some overnight skin prep tricks that made a real difference. Her work is incredibly detail-oriented and she has a real gift for making people of all skin tones and ages look and feel their best. She was flexible with exactly what I needed and adjusted things on the fly without any fuss. I'd absolutely recommend Beauty By Thao to any couple looking for someone who actually listens and delivers.

ly loved. I felt so pretty and confident. Highly recommend her for anyone looking for flawless yet personalized makeup. 💖✨

equest. Professional, punctual, and so talented. Highly recommend for any bride-to-be! Her prices were responsible and made our family photos look amazing.

k before my sisters wedding! Thao was very accommodating. I had to be ready for my sister‘s tea ceremony by 9 AM so she was able to fit me in to do my hair and make up at 6:30 AM and we were done by 8:15. I love how Thao made me feel very comfortable and very welcome. She’s so fun to talk to!  My hair and make up lasted all day, even after a 2 hour nap & I love the little touch up kit she gave me!  I definitely recommend Thao for your next occasion!

so were very happy that their vision of what they wanted, came to life! Thao is so sweet and amazing, she was very attentive and made sure that everyone was okay with how things were coming out. I was a bit nervous at first before our makeup trial because I have never had my makeup done professionally before but she was able to ease all my worries and even topped my expectations! Even on my actual wedding day when I wanted to do a completely different look from my trial, she was all for it. I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a makeup artist in the bay! If I ever have the chance, I would book with her again hehe 🤍

s information and got connected with her on instagram right away! I had both a hair and makeup trial run which was very easy to schedule. Thao was very attentive to the inspiration pictures as well as taking notes on what I liked and didn’t like. I booked her right away after the trial for myself, my bridesmaids and family members. I booked her for both hair and makeup which she did wonderful on! She was open to last minute minor makeup changes day of and made sure I felt beautiful during the entire process. My hair and makeup stayed on for more than 12 hours and it was raining in my wedding day too so that says a lot!! Thao and one other makeup artist on her team came to my house for the getting ready. They brought all their equipment and worked efficiently the entire time. Thao is very communicative and plans out her time well to ensure that everybody has enough time to get their services done. I would recommend Thao to any bride!

large group, which was unfounded - they got through everybody with extra time to spare. We did a trial before the wedding at her home in San Jose which went well - she pretty much nailed it and I had minimal feedback on any changes - and then she nailed it again on my wedding day! What I and everybody else loved about my makeup/hair is that I looked glowingly beautiful and elevated but not in a way that made me unrecognizable from my every day. The makeup also stayed flawless through the day and night without feeling heavy, and the photos came out great. Very happy with the outcome. Last but not least, her communication, efficiency, flexibility, professionalism, and ease to work with made all the logistics very stress-free. Thao is very easy/fun to talk to, and the rest of her team was also incredibly sweet. Thank you again, Thao <3

ght away that I wanted to book her for my special day. She worked with me so well so that we could create the look that I wanted. Throughout the process Thao and Tham were professional, flexible, and oh so sweet!!! My mom and I both appreciate your time and beautiful work. Thank you for making that early morning stress free and fun. We highly recommend Thao, Tham, and the rest of their team for their services! :)

s for the big day. She started by asking what my daily skin care consisted of, my daily makeup routine, and how comfortable I am with wearing makeup. She truly listened to what I liked, didn’t like, and my vision. She was great with communication, organized, clear with pricing, and made the whole process seamless. To say she delivered is an understatement! The look was stunning and both my hair and makeup lasted all night long. My bridesmaids also looked stunning and their looks also lasted through a night of dancing and partying. Thao and her team really ensured we had a fun, stress-free experience getting ready, and helped us look and feel our best. I would book with Thao again in a heart beat!

up trial with Thao and planned to take engagement pictures the same day. We tried one look out. During the process, she would ask for my opinion and we would adjust certain spot to my liking. It was very easy talking to her and I felt very comfortable being able to tell her my opinions. For the wedding day, I decided to do soft glam with Hollywood waves and a hair piece. She did my makeup, one of my bridesmaid, and my mother. Everyone was soooo beautiful! I love my look and let me tell you. IT STAYED ON! My wedding was an all day event. We started with makeup at 6AM! I was worry about if the makeup will stay on and if it will look cakey throughout the day. But it was perfect! I didn’t really have to do much touch up but maybe add more lipstick. The hair stay in place and the waves were in tact. I had an outside ceremony so I was worry it might be loose but nope. Overall, I very happy with my experiences and so glad I picked Thao for my wedding!

the most beautiful, soft natural glam look that I could have ever imagined. I wanted a look that felt like me but with a touch of elegance, and she delivered that perfectly. The Hollywood waves she styled for me were just gorgeous and stayed flawless throughout the entire day and night. But it wasn't just about me—Thao and her assistant also did an amazing job on my bridesmaids, mother of the groom, and mother of the bride. Everyone looked stunning and felt so special. She has a true talent for enhancing natural beauty while making each person feel comfortable and confident. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and warm personality made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. I genuinely felt pampered and glamorous all day long, and that’s all thanks to her incredible skills and expertise. If you're looking for a makeup artist who can create stunning, personalized looks and make you and your bridal party feel like stars, Thao is your go-to. I’m so grateful to have had her as part of my wedding day—she made it truly unforgettable!

ce perfectly all day long even in the San Francisco wind! Thao is seriously the sweetest and so talented. Couldn‘t recommend her enough!!

as super quick to respond. I appreciated that she was flexible about doing a trial and her services included both bridal and wedding party hair & makeup. I'll note that she prices out the hair and makeup as separate services, so if you're only interested in one, you can do so. Throughout she remained easy to communicate with. Prior to the trial she asked me what I was looking for and I sent her inspiration pictures for both hair and makeup. On the day of the trial she asked about my preferences. Thao is very personable and easy to talk to! The time she spent working on both my makeup and hair went by really quickly. At the end we talked about things I liked/things I would change and she took pictures/videos and made notes. It was a no obligations trial, so following the trial I booked my and my bridesmaids wedding day services with her! On the day of, she and her 2nd makeup artist arrived on time and prepared with their tools and setup to our get ready location. They worked efficiently and were very pleasant and easy going. Based on the finish time I asked for, Thao had scheduled everyone out in advance so we knew around when each of us would get our hair or makeup down. Everything pretty much went according to schedule so that when our photographer arrived we were all ready for pictures! Additionally Thao provided a touch up kit for me to use throughout the day if I needed it. Overall it was a very seamless process and everyone looked beautiful! One of my friends already asked me who I went with and contacted Thao for her own wedding! *All photos captured by Danya Chen Photography

e a bride looking for an artist who is multi-talented, extremely kind, deeply insightful, and attentive to your needs then you have found your girl! Even when you don't know how to put into words what you want, Thao knows exactly what you mean and can execute it perfectly. Not only this, but my makeup stayed on ALL NIGHT. My makeup DID NOT BUDGE even though I cried so many times. I promise that booking with Thao will be the best decision you ever make for your wedding day!

for the photoshoot and both lasted throughout the hours after the shoot also. She was very easy to talk to and made sure she understood my vision throughout the appointment and I felt very comfortable. I also really appreciated how accommodating she was. I had unexpected events happen that caused me to have to shift our appointment around a couple times and she was totally understanding and flexible.

that day Thao wasn't feeling so good she is very professional and understanding. I love her work!! A lot of my friends loved my hairstyle and make up. Thanks Thao for your service!!

e and helpful in making decisions. I felt like she listened to me and was able to understand what I was envisioning. Her and Michelle were able to give me and my family the looks that we wanted and were also just such a calming presence on that day!

fast because of how fun it was talking with her! :)

ith my mom who had extremely high expectations for her own hair and makeup! She made all of my bridal party feel comfortable and look their best. I wanted a natural, pink, glowy/dewy makeup look and she did exactly that! I am forever grateful to Thao and all her hard work!

beginning, Thao was above and beyond, the opposite of stressful. She was incredibly responsive and professional. She nailed the minimal coverage look I wanted and perfected what I had in mind and felt comfortable with. Her and her team made my wedding day smooth and were also so fun to chat with in the hours that we had with them. For the wedding day, I had hair & makeup scheduled for myself and 6 other bridesmaids and we got done ahead of schedule! Couldn't have asked for a better hair & makeup team. Thanks Thao!

Thao was so helpful and responsive and made the booking process so seamless. She put together the contract, built the full timeline, and even asked for inspiration pictures for each of the girls (which she referenced the day-of), all within a 48-hour period. I asked for a soft glam look for my makeup and a half updo with curls and she delivered!! Since we weren't able to do a trial session together, Thao made sure to check in with me throughout the session to make sure we were going in the right direction for the look I was envisioning. I loved the final look and felt great! We had a total of 11 services between the bridesmaids, MOH/G, and the bride (myself). Thao made sure to show up early on the day-of and set up quickly to get to work. Even though it was my first time meeting her, she felt so familiar and was so personable with everyone of us! Her calm presence was so welcome on such a high energy day. AND she finished early! I was fully prepared to be late since you always hear about the morning prep time running over but she was done nearly an hour early with everyone pleased with their looks and we didn't feel rushed at all through the whole process. A huge plus was she was able to communicate with my Vietnamese speaking mom which also made her more comfortable. She gave my mom and I extra lip color for touch-ups later, as well as blotting oil sheets. Working with Thao was an absolute pleasure and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a HMUA! I can't thank you enough for your professionalism and quality on such an important day. Thank you for making my special day even more memorable!

an excellent job. She was very easy to communicate with leading up to the event and her and her team were fun and easy to talk to on the day of the wedding. She really listened to what I wanted and kept checking in with me to make sure that I was happy with the final look. My husband kept telling me how much he liked my makeup throughout the evening! Thank you so much Thao and team!

er. I first did a trial and shared samples of what I liked and she did my hair and makeup exactly as I had envisioned. I appreciated that she was super flexible when I had to reschedule my engagement shoot. Leading up to our wedding day, Thao checked in with me and made sure I knew the timeline of getting ready for my bridesmaids and I. On the wedding day, I felt absolutely beautiful. The makeup stayed on all night and I received so many compliments on it. For someone that doesn't usually wear much makeup, I was nervous about wearing heavy makeup but Thao made it feel very light and natural. The biggest plus is that she is so kind, easy to talk to, and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a hair and makeup artist!

the same time I was unsure, but open. Day-of I was super anxious and I'm sure I was being a little difficult, haha! 😅 Thao was super patient, understanding, and easy going. I really appreciated her input and help in navigating my back and forth uncertainty. Communication was easy and prompt. Doing the bridal trial was helpful and allowed for notes and feedback leading up to the big day~ One thing I really wanted was to transition my hair from ceremony to reception, and Thao delivered!! Cute textured top half with a romantic bun that my matron was able to undo easily for reception. We just touched up the curls a little. I received so many compliments that night on my hair and make up. All my bridesmaids had their hair and make up done by Thao and her assistant that day, Linh. They all looked amazing and well put together from start to finish~ Thank you so much Thao for your expertise and being my HMUA!!

ir looked absolutely stunning on the day of the wedding! Most importantly, I felt gorgeous! My mom, who never wears make-up, was truly feeling herself that whole day. I've never seen her look so confident and glam. Thao is responsive and organized. The booking process was easy. I found her on Instagram and quickly DM'ed her. We did a trail session first (at an additional cost but worth it!) and it was SO helpful in pinning down the look I wanted for the day-of. I wanted a dark sultry make-up look to match my "dark & moody" wedding theme, along with hollywood curls - basically I wanted to look like a vampire. Thao showed up early on the day-of, was prepared, worked diligently with detail and care, and has such a personable, sweet, and calming presence. She gave my mom and I extra lip color for touch-ups later, as well as blotting oil sheets. I've worked with other MUAs before and have never received service this great! The quality of Thao's make-up and work also lasted the entire day/night. I would HIGHLY recommend her and will be utilizing her services again. Thanks, Thao!

e day. Her skills and products truly withstood the test, and I felt stunning from the first photo to the last dance. Thank you for making my special day even more memorable!

lly curly hair and wanted to wear it as such for the wedding so I booked a trial with Thao to figure out how to style it ahead of the day. I ended up changing my mind last minute and she fabulously pivoted to my idea. Throughout the entire process Thao was incredibly communicative, helpful, and friendly. It was lovely to have her and Michelle as part of our getting ready crew before the wedding. I was wanting softer glam makeup and hairstyles that everyone was comfortable with that would also last; Thao and Michelle absolutely knocked it out of the park. Everyone looked beautiful and, more importantly, felt beautiful all day and night long. Thank you Thao and team!

work, and she did not disappoint! I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup, and Thao made my natural glam look so good while feeling light and natural. I highly recommend Thao if you’re looking for a hair and makeup artist!

respond and helped ease any anxiety I had! She was able to work with my timeline, and stayed with it! I told her I wanted to still look like myself on my wedding, but more put together and she listened! I loved my hair and makeup. My makeup stayed on for the whole night, even when my dad smushed my face while hugging me at the end of the aisle. My hair also held onto the curls, which is a miracle because my hair will straighten out within a few hours. It was also sprinkling during my wedding while taking photos outside, but everything still held up! My husband also loved how everything turned out. Her team also did wonderful jobs on my bridesmaids and was able to do all the different hairstyles requested. Both her and the team were so easy to talk to, it felt like a bunch of friends just hanging out. I would highly recommend going with Thao and her team. You won't regret it :). THANK YOU THAO AND TEAM.

t with some added glam for my wedding day. I came across Thao and immediately sensed that she would do an amazing job in achieving my desired look. We did a trial run and it was beautiful— no notes, it was exactly my vision based on the info and few inspo pix I provided her with. Her rates also felt incredibly affordable! I loved working with her throughout the entire process; she’s such a sweet and down to earth person! Her & her assistant Michelle were wonderful the day of my wedding. Punctual, friendly, and so, so skilled! They made myself and my bridesmaid feel very comfortable and beautiful. Highly recommend!!

d romantic look she was able to achieve on me. She was also a pleasure to work with, professional, prompt and responsive. Thank you Thao!

t so smoothly. She did the makeup on my mom and me for my big day, throughout the whole makeup/hairstyle process she would recommend what makeup and hairstyles would be the best for both my mom and me. I'm not good with words, but all I can said is she's so amazing and I'm glad I got her to do my wedding makeup and hairstyles. Also, we did have a good time talking, and she makes me feel comfortable while she's working on my makeup/hair. I would highly recommend Thao to everyone I know if they need makeup service. Once again I would like to said Thank you Thao for the glamorous makeup on my wedding day.

ional, friendly, and provides great advice. She is also flexible with ideas you present her. Hire Thao and you won’t regret it!

d the photos of her work which, when it comes to hair and makeup, speaks volumes. I reached out to Thao and she was so responsive and made the booking process so easy. Without a bridal party, I opted to just get hair and makeup for myself and my mom. About a month before the wedding, I booked a trial run for hair and makeup and was able to head to her home in San Jose to do so. She was so friendly and real, and made sure that I was comfortable with everything every step of the way (from deciding what size false lashes to use, to the color of my lipstick, etc.). On the day of my wedding, she came to my apartment and worked so quickly that we were done a good half hour before I thought we'd be done. She was also so accommodating when I changed my mind from an updo to half-up and half down. Even though we didn't do a trial of that style, Thao absolutely nailed it from just a couple of source photos. Through many tears of joy, the rain that was pouring down, lots of eating and drinking, and hours of dancing, my makeup and hair stayed intact. She also prepped a small bag of blotting tissues and lipstick, but I didn't find myself needing anything else. I can't recommend Thao enough to other brides looking for hair and makeup!

gave (which wasn't a lot). I loved that she had experience with multiple facial/skin types too. 10/10 you should book Thao for your wedding hair and makeup!

, and my bridesmaids. I would recommend Thao for anyone who's looking for bridal hair/makeup (or for any other occasion!)

a good job, my photographer asked for her information!

p for the engagement shoot and not only did she arrive early to set up her station, her work was awesome and my makeup looked very natural on me (I don't wear makeup often). Her communication is great, and she is good at listening to and incorporating feedback. I truly loved my hair and makeup for the wedding, and am so impressed that she created a hairstyle for me that wasn't in any inspo photos. On my actual wedding day, she nailed it by exactly replicating what we did in our trial. This is no easy feat because I think not all artists can do it (making sure they're delivering what you expect from the trial). Thao took lots of notes and photos during our trial, and we also exchanged our notes over email, to make this happen. I also wanted to point out that I had 7 others do hair and makeup, and Thao and her team of 3 artists were so much fun! My hair and makeup lasted the whole day too during a very hot July day. I would highly recommend Thao and her team!

hat you want and executes with precision! I highly recommend her!

responsive through the whole process. My hair and makeup held up great both times, and she was able to change my hair on the day of my wedding using feedback from the trial. I also had a pretty bad breakout on my face, and she reassured me that she would be able to conceal it no problem. She did a wonderful job making it disappear with her skills, and I didn't even think about it during the day. She also did makeup and hair for my sister and mom, and they were both super happy with their looks. I highly recommend Thao to any bride looking for an amazing HMU artist for their wedding!

dding, she gave me exactly what I asked for. She was comfortable to be around and easy to talk to! :) My mom and bridesmaids (3 received hair and/or makeup) really loved their makeup/hair as well. We were all beyond happy with how we looked and our experience overall. Thao was also very responsive and flexible. She's so sweet! I would HIGHLY recommend booking Thao and her stylists!

was accommodating when I needed to change the getting ready location. On the day of, she arrived on time and was very efficient, so she finished earlier than we expected. She did a great job working off of the inspiration pics I sent her. My mom and I loved how our hair and makeup turned out. I highly recommend booking Thao if you're located in the Bay Area :)
