be in the Chicago area often, but I informed them in advance each date I would be available in Illinois to try and be proactive to get on their schedule. We spoke over the phone in 2023 on dates I was available in December. That didn't seem to work. I gave the known dates, as of January, that I would be in Illinois in 2024 to you and tried working around other wedding schedules. At that time, no resolution had been set. I then followed back up in March again with those same specific dates and times of day. It was at that point where I felt that I needed to walk through with you what had already been outlined in a prior text message to get to the end result of a trial. They also mentioned that they would follow up with me with a time closer to the now scheduled date. After not hearing anything for 2.5+ months, I followed up with them only 8 days before the trial to confirm a time. You said 1:00 PM. Great. I schedule my day around being in Oakbrook at 1:00 PM. Then, the day before the trial, they asked me to change the time. I felt quite uncomfortable even being asked that because, from my perspective, I had tried nailing this down 6 months earlier. I tried to be flexible and offered up to 30 minutes after our agreed upon time, but couldn't accommodate anything later than that. They then offered noon, to which I then moved my schedule around to make work. The trial started with hair, where I showed images from Pinterest, as well as a wedding I was in 2 weeks prior. After testing the half up / half down look, they discussed how an updo would look better. I requested to see what that would look like. Laura then took my hair and smushed it in their hands and held it to the lower part of my head and said something like, "it'll look like this." No pins, no ties, not a true trial of an updo. The overall look was completed quicker than what my prior experience was as a bridesmaid in someone else's wedding. During a point in the middle of the hair trial, Kelly came and started working on me. At which point, the hair trial did not stop. It was very uncomfortable to be having both hair and makeup done at once, even more so with no warning or asking if that was okay. It felt rushed, uncomfortable, and, sloppy. I showed her images from Pinterest of looks I was going for, as well as my face makeup from the wedding I was in, and said how I liked the 'soft glam' look, that my wedding theme was Elegance, and I'd like a simple yet classic look. About halfway through getting the makeup done, the work on my hair stopped, and my hair had nothing in it but a curl. No updo, no half up / half down, just curled hair and 1 image with the clip I brought in in place of a half up/half down look that they agreed would not be done the day of. Even with just the curl, and to my knowledge, no reason to not touch my hair, Kelly did not cover my whole face with makeup. Once she had completed the eyes, she did the airbrush, but she did not move anything around to ensure good or full coverage. At least 1/3 of my face felt missed because she didn't or wouldn't move the hair laying over and covering part of my forehead and face on either side. I also found it strange and not ideal that no concealer was used. Also, was any contour used? It did not appear so. Moreover, the coverage on my face was slim, and in some areas, none. After being in the chair for a little less than an hour, both my hair and makeup trial were 'complete'. I was then turned to face the mirror, and to my surprise looked to have dark brown eyeshadow covering my entire eyelid and lower brow area. I was then encouraged to look at it in natural light, so I went to the front with a mirror to see that it was in fact dark purple eyeshadow. Dark purple was never discussed, and was quite different from the 'soft glam' I expressed wanting, and looked nothing like the sample images shown. At the conclusion of the trial, it was clear that another bride was on her way and was running late when I left around 1:15. Therefore concluding, that my original time was being moved around to accommodate someone else, as well as the work of the trial felt rushed to accommodate someone else coming in. In addition, when told the amount owed, you said you looked at my contract and that the total was $200 for hair, $200 for makeup, and $30 for airbrush. That didn't seem correct to me, so I pulled up the contract. It reflected different numbers. $50 less per service in fact. Again making the situation uncomfortable, in poor taste, and a bad customer experience. I expressed the few concerns that I could see in the building at the time. Such as the eyeshadow being too dark and the blending of foundation under my chin needing to be done. It wasn't until the ride home directly after the trial until other issues were apparent. About half way through the 45-50 minute drive home, I noticed that my eyes were itching, burning, and were constantly watery. I did not touch, move, or do anything to the makeup at this time in an effort to preserve the work done. I asked which glue was used and if a different one could be used the day of. My request for change was not answered. I got home, went to my vanity mirror, to then also notice that one of the eyelashes had lifted over half way off. As someone who didn't own eye glue, or has never put on fake lashes myself before, I had no choice but to take off the lash. That is completely unacceptable for a bride to have to do on the day of her wedding. A fake eyelash should last longer than 1.5 hours, especially on a bride on her wedding day. Not only that, but I also noticed when I got home the lack of coverage used. It was clear that after an hour and a half, my acne was showing through the makeup, my dark circles and bags were clear under my eyes, and that the face makeup was well worn off many areas around the nose and mouth (note that I had not eaten or done anything on the way to effect this). Finally, as I stated verbally before booking you all, and that I also re-disclosed in the contract, the place the bridal party would be getting ready at is my parents house. At which there was no question or mention from you of a fear of dogs or needing any sort of accommodation if animals were in the home. My parents house is a place where there will be 3 dogs, all at or over 50 lbs, the day of the wedding and during our getting ready time. It was not mentioned at any point at all until being in the chair at my trial 6 weeks before the wedding date that there is an issue with animals, even when we had discussed that the place we would be getting ready at was a home all the way in October 2023, and that you could not be around dogs. To which, I am not able to accommodate. All in all, the quality of professionalism and work were not there. Thus concluding, I did not move forward with their services on my wedding day.
