Beginning Ballroom

My wife and I did not know much about ballroom dancing before our wedding and we were worried about our first dance, but Lee was excellent in meeting us at our level and building from there. By the time our wedding came around, we were dancing the Cha Cha with ease and we felt completely confident on our big day.

Lee was great! He worked with our crazy schedule and us not being in the same place or in Baltimore often ahead of the wedding. We loved our dance and have become better dancers at other events too!

Lee was such a wonderful instructor! My husband and I used our dance lessons as our pre-wedding “date nights” and had so much fun! Lee is a great teacher and was so flexible with my crazy schedule as a physician. We can’t wait to go back and continue to learn with him :)

Lee is an excellent instructor! The prospect of our first dance was intimidating at the beginning but Lee really put us at ease with his teaching style. We greatly appreciate his knowledge, flexibility, and adaptability. He is very perceptive to the needs of his students, tailoring his lessons to comfortably match our pace and ability level. Lee is amazing. We started taking classes prior to our wedding and learned not only rumba (our first dance), but merengue and bachata too. It really reduced our anxiety towards dancing and we had so much fun. Do yourself a favor and call beginning ballroom, you won’t regret it.

Great guy! We learned some basic steps and built from there. He made sure that we got enough practice and we were confident going into our first dance. Really friendly atmosphere so you feel comfortable right away :). I would definitely use them again!

We took 10 lessons with Lee in the run-up to our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made! Going from absolute beginners to learning the basics and some simple turns gave us a lot of confidence and made our first dance look a lot more elegant than it would otherwise have We also earned a lot of compliments from our guests! Lee is a patient and personable teacher who makes learning simple and fun. We appreciated his reminders that the most important thing about any first dance wasn't that two beginners look technically expert, but that we have fun doing it.

Working with Beginning Ballroom with Lee as our instructor to prepare for our first dance was an amazing experience!! We had 10 lessons with him over a 2 month period. We came to him with zero dance skills and he was able to teach us how to ballroom dance and feel very comfortable doing so! During the process, Lee was patient, reassuring, and kind, and made sure to explain things to us in terms that made sense. My husband has a background in music but I do not, but Lee was able to make dancing make sense for both of us. He was very thoughtful and a few times he had coffee ready for us for morning sessions! During the times that I was frustrated with myself, Lee was incredibly supportive. I came to Lee nervous and self-conscious about how our first dance would go, but he taught us skills to confidently perform our first dance. Our first dance went really well and everyone said we looked comfortable and beautiful! And now we have dance moves that we can use for the rest of our lives together, all thanks to Lee. We are very thankful for the opportunity to work together!

This was one of the best decisions my fiance and I did for our wedding! Lee and his expertise were just the ticket for what we were looking for in last minute preparation for our wedding recpetion. Along with being flexible and understanding of our schedules, Lee was nothing short of wonderful in helping us get to where we wanted to be for our First Dance- teaching to our already selected song and getting us to look like we knew a thing or two (even though both of us had never ever had any training in dance of any kind). It is an absolute pleasure working with Lee and Christine! Admittedly, my fiancé and I have some lofty ideas for our first dance at our upcoming wedding and Lee has been so helpful in putting us on the path to achieve our goals. They were great! We impressed our guests with the first dance, and instead of being completely choreographed, we had the flexibility to use moves we learned in whatever order we wanted. That way, we had much less stress and pressure to remove the order of every move and could focus on the moment. He asked questions as we prepared to ensure we were ready to walk onto and exit the dance floor and made us feel confident leading up to the day.

Lee is great to work with! My fiancee and I got a lesson with him and immediately decided to upgrade to a 10-lesson package before our wedding. While we are still 2 weeks away from our wedding (so we have not done our first dance yet), so far we have had a lot of fun and have learned a lot. Lee's strengths are that he clearly explains what aspects really matter in a first dance and what doesn't (what the guests will not notice) and that he teaches the "why" behind certain moves, which frees us to focus on the few important aspects and enjoy the process. We love that he adapts to our level and learning pace and prefers to have us do a simpler dance where we focus on the love connection between us as a couple as opposed to a fancy dance full of technicalities that is not as fluid or seems forced. Lee is also very responsive and easy to work with, and super friendly. Highly recommend!

Lee is a miracle worker. On the 1st day of class, I wasn't sure my husband and I would ever be able to pull off a reasonable foxtrot. After only 10 classes, we were wedding ready. Prior to booking, I called 2 other companies. Beginning Ballroom's 10 class package was the most comprehensive and reasonably priced. Lee is very personable, funny, and detail oriented. His attention to detail even included helpful suggestions for securely bustling my dress so that I wouldn't trip during our first dance. Pro Tip: Don't tell anyone that you are taking dance lessons. The surprise factor really impressed our guests and set the mood for our reception. Everyone loved our first dance!

We took classes for our wedding and we were more than pleased with the instructors. From the beginning to the end was such a great experience. We weren’t sure which kind of dance we’d like to do so we shared our song with Mr. Gedansky and he selected a style that would fit best. He’s such a blast to learn from and very flexible. We will be taking more classes after the wedding!

My wife is an excellent dancer while I have two left feet and have always avoided dancing like the plague. When it came time to decide on and start our wedding dance preparations I knew I would need help. After attending group lessons for some time, we knew that more individualized attention was needed to make progress in time for the wedding day. We are very happy and relieved to have found Lee! Lee is kind, patient, funny, and a great dance instructor. He took us from stepping on feet and much frustration to an elegant first dance that impressed our guests and family. Lee is amazing. Me and my fiance started dance lessons early (1 year ahead of the wedding date) and it made our Thursdays every week going. Fiance was hesitant at first, but he fell in love with the lessons (like i did) and Lee became quite a good friend to us through this experience. This was one of our favorite things we did for our wedding! Lee and Christine couldn’t have been better teachers! We learned what was the right dance for us and our song. Something that fit our skill set was very important and we felt so comfortable when our big day came. We had fun, all the while learning something new we would share with all our guests.

My fiance and I had found this dance studio after we had unsuccessfully tried our hand at dancing at a local dance chain. As soon as we spoke on the phone with Lee, we had a good feeling, and we were right! Lee was a wonderful teacher and so much fun. We enjoyed our lessons and also Lee’s stories. I had been trying to talk my husband into dance lessons for years and finally our son was getting married so I had a good reason to convince him. After our lessons were complete and our son was married my husband asked if I wanted to continue lessons. Absolutely!! We will be back to soon to see Lee and continue.

Lee is fantastic! He is very chill, and immediately makes you feel comfortable. Definitely prefer the one- on- one lessons to the idea of a big class. My partner came in knowing *nothing* about dancing, and we're well on our way to being confident dancers! We are also having Beginning Ballroom teach a dance lesson at our reception.

We started with Lee and Beginning Ballroom when my boyfriend, Josh, surprised me for our 1 year anniversary with a Date Night dance lesson. We had a blast learning the Rumba and ended up taking additional classes just for fun. When we got engaged last January, we again returned to Beginning Ballroom to conquer our first dance! They have reasonably priced Wedding Dance packages and have been VERY accommodating and flexible with our hectic schedules. Lee is always a pleasure to work with and we look forward to continuing our lessons long after we're married!

I cannot begin to tell you how much help Lee was! Before signing up for dance lessons, my husband and I attempted to learn how to slow dance on YouTube, which resulted in frantically searching for a dance instructor. With Lee’s help, not only did he teach us how to dance to our first dance song, but also how to overcome obstacles because sometimes things don’t go smoothly…. Unfortunately, our DJ played the wrong first dance song but thankfully we were able to dance and none of our guests seem to notice that we were dancing to the wrong song. Lee not only prepared us for the right song but also for the wrong song. I highly recommend dance lessons especially before your wedding, and honestly, they aren’t awkward at all. Dance lessons took so much unnecessary weight off of our shoulders and the first dance went from our first concern, to our last. Thank you Lee!!

Lee has been great to work with! Unfortunately, we had to postpone our reception due to COVID-19, but we have no doubt that we will still look great on our big day. It's been a lot of fun learning to tango and we feel a lot more comfortable on the dance floor than we thought we might be!

Lee and Christine are the Best! I'm not sure if this should be a dance instruction review or a people review. After blindly calling several places, the chemistry was instant with Lee. At the initial instruction we quickly learned why. This couple both have infectious personalities with huge warming hearts...and get this, they are amazing dance instructors as well! I'm sure there are other studios that can teach you how to dance at your wedding, but these are the ones that you invite to your wedding and party with all night long! With Beginning Ballroom, we didn't just leave with a dance, we left with friends. Well, actually we never left as we have continued to learn new genres long after the Wedding. If you are on here reading reviews and looking for someone to help prepare you for that special day, look no further! Honestly, on top of being great people, the dance instruction is phenomenal. Lee and Christine are fluent in virtually every style, and that personal knowledge helps them to provide the perfect instruction to make sure that you develop the right techniques as well. You will receive an honest approach with hands-on help if needed...and trust me, there were plenty of times when Lee had to grab my 250 lb frame and lead me around the room. All in all, they are 10 out of 10 in every category and I'm so fortunate to have gained such great friends!

We decided to take dance classes for our wedding about 6 weeks before the big day. Prior to this experience, we were a little nervous given that we have no dance experience and not a lot of time. Lee made us feel comfortable from the beginning and chose the perfect dance for us that we felt confident doing by the end. He was friendly, warm, and positive throughout it all. It was such a great bonding experience for me and my now husband and it will be one of the highlights that we will remember from our wedding for years to come. Highly recommend!

My wife and I loved our experience taking dance lessons with Lee. We had 6 private lessons leading up to our wedding and they were some of the best moments that we shared during the very stressful last few weeks that led up to our big day. The sessions were fun and informative! Best of all our first dance looked great and people really loved it! I would recommend the experience to any couple as a way of scheduling some mini dates with each other as you approach your wedding with the added bonus of looking awesome during your wedding instead of rocking and swaying back and forth with each other in front of all of your family and friends! Lee and Christine were beyond supportive and knowledgeable and best of all they were down to earth and fun!

Our lessons with Lee were wonderful! We learned things I didn't think were possible; we really looked like we knew what we were doing, and it was comfortable and not scary. They worked with our ideas, our song choice, everything. They even managed to do Zoom lessons and make them worthwhile. While we ended up postponing our wedding, I am really looking forward to resuming our lessons when the world opens up again.

I have been taking dance lessons with Lee in preparation for my brother's May 29th, 2021 wedding. Through group and private lessons, I have been exposed to a variety of different dance styles that will easily translate to whatever music is on the playlist. I am really impressed by Lee's expertise in so many dances and his patient and encouraging teaching style. I feel confident that I can get out on the dancefloor and look like I belong there.

My fiancé and I decided that dance lessons were a MUST after attending several weddings with very choreographed dances - while some of the spins were cool, the overall effect was awkward since it was obvious that both dancers were concentrating on performing the exact steps at the exact set time. We both wanted our first dance to look natural... or as natural as possible for two non-dancers to perform start Latin style dancing at their wedding :) We are currently about 1/3 of the way through our dance lessons before our wedding, and we are both thrilled with how we are progressing under Lee's wonderful instruction! We have learned many different moves that are versatile with several different dance styles (which is important since we have yet to finalize our dance and/or song!). I am so thankful for Lee's patience with teaching us the very basics and progressing at a pace that we are able to follow without feeling rushed or stuck. I truly look forward to our weekly Friday classes, and my fiancé and I plan to continue with our dance lessons as a wonderful date activity after our wedding!

Before starting with Beginning Ballroom neither of us had ever taken dance lessons so to say it nicely we had no clue what we were doing on the dance floor. With with Lee and Christine we were able to pick out the style dance we wanted for our first dance and then pick an appropriate song. Lee and Christine taught us a bunch of dance moves so we were comfortable on the dance floor. The dance lessons were fun and the evening hours were convenience with our schedules. I totally recommend lessons with Lee. My partner and I did 5 in the 5 weeks before our wedding and had a ton of fun. Each one was a date for us! We plan to return for group lessons. Lee's approach makes so much sense. His goal is for you to look confident, enjoying yourself, and skilled JUST enough to impress your guests without going technically overboard. He is a great instructor with a logical approach who tailors that experience for you. We loved our first dance! I had some trouble initially getting in touch and scheduled - don't let that deter you if you do too! once you are there, it's great.

Lee and Christine are consummate professionals who not only know how to dance beautifully themselves but also know exactly how to coach others into learning to dance. Lee taught most of our sessions to prepare for our wedding bridal dance and the two things we most appreciated were 1.) his ability to explain concepts of motion for particular steps by using very apt, relatable, and often amusing analogies (rather than just saying "imitate what I do.") and 2.) the way the Gedanskys make people of any experience level feel comfortable with dance sessions that are genuinely enjoyable.

Our experience with Beginning Ballroom has been nothing but amazing! We ended up taking 13 private lessons to prepare for the first dance at our wedding. We loved our experience working with Lee. He is very knowledgeable yet funny and light-hearted, which is exactly what we needed as ballroom dancing newbies. We were gifted a series of 6 private lessons leading up to our wedding. Our first dance was the part of the big day I was least looking forward to, as I've never been particularly gifted with coordination; dancing was always something that made me nervous (and in front of all those people!?). Hubby-to-be and I decided on a slow song we thought we could pull off, even though it wasn't "our song." At our first lesson with Lee, he asked us what song we'd been thinking of...we shared our pick and the secret that our actual special song was one we thought we couldn't dance to. Without missing a beat, Lee filled us with confidence that "our song" would be the one we worked on, because you only get one first dance! Over the next 6 weeks, Lee taught us the basics of Jitterbug Swing, and the lessons turned out to be the most fun part of planning for our big day, and even more importantly, an awesome way to bring us together once a week to learn something new. It was a blast, to say the very least. We ended up adding on a month of (super affordable) group classes, just because we were having so much fun, and definitely plan to dance again! Our first dance ended up being one of the most special (and fun) parts of our wedding day. Lee and Christine are wonderful instructors. They meet you where you are with unparalleled humor, and build new moves/steps into your repertoire each week so you gradually build up to being able to not just pull off choreography to one song, but actually being able to dance the style you've learned. Dancing and learning with Lee and Christine feels like spending time with old friends.

We had a lot of choices to make when planning our wedding, and working with Lee from Beginning Ballroom was one of the best ones we made. I don’t even know how to explain how great Lee and Christine are! They have truly become our friends in the year of lessons we took! We have received so many compliments on our first dance. So many people have said that it was the best part of the whole wedding! In addition some of our friends have decided to take lessons thanks to how great our first dance was! Beginning Ballroom was incredible and Lee and Christine were AMAZING dance instructors! We would HIGHLY recommend this place for wedding dance lessons. Awesome instructors who really care about you as individuals and couples. They take time to get to know you. I have significant medical issues and they were able to adapt the first dance to prevent hurting me and taught my husband to support me to ease the strain on my back and knee and to turn a touch slower and no one noticed that we were doing the dance slightly modified. We could not dance at all but with practice sessions (you should get the full package) we were able to Rumba our first dance to a live band (harder than you could imagine as his microphone did not work-but we had planned for all contingencies and it we just smiled through it). Everyone noticed that we were really dancing not just swaying. They are very supportive. We did not know that you can hire them to come to your wedding--we were broke but we would have done this as they apparently (by the stories) said that they pinned up dresses and modified the dance to match the dress at the last minute outside the ballroom. We cannot say enough about how patient and even humorous they could be. The studio is up a set of stairs in the back of their home, but they are the real deal!

We hired two dance instructors to come and dance with our guests at the wedding reception. They were fun, friendly, and wonderful to dance with. Our guests raved about how fun it was to dance with them. I highly recommend them.

We ran into a "Honey! We forgot to take dance lessons!" panic two months before our wedding - Lee and Christine quickly whipped our butts into shape and our first dance went perfectly! As the lead, my husband felt prepared for our band's rendition of our song knowing it would be different than our 6 practice lessons. I was twirled and dipped and cheered for as I shared an intimate moment with my new husband in front of a crowd. Thank you Lee and Christine for teaching us how to dance like no one is watching!

Classes at Beginning Ballroom are a MUST! Lee and Christine helped to make our first dance fun and memorable. My husband and I took both group and private lessons in the month leading up to our wedding. Not only did we have a ton of fun, but by our big day we felt confident, relaxed and our guests were impressed. Throughout our lessons, Lee and Christine gave us the confidence to learn the basic dances moves we needed, with a few more complex and special tricks worked in to help our first dance feel natural and fluid verses over choreographed. I cannot recommend them enough, and we will be continuing dance lessons with them post-wedding. They tailor lessons to each student's skill level, are extremely flexible with scheduling lessons, are crazy affordable and most importantly they are great at teaching the technical aspects of dance without pulling the fun out of a lesson. Lee and Christine truly helped to make our wedding planning / preparations process so much easier. Just a bit of advice to future brides in closing - give yourself more time for dance lessons then we did (aka more than just a month or so). Our lessons at Beginning Ballroom ended up being a ton of fun and provided us with a great mental break that helped us connect and relax throughout the hectic planning process. Also, tell your seamstress to properly hem your dress so you won't trip during your first dance! This is great advance from Lee that should definitely be followed!

I’ve always looked for a place to learn ballroom, and beginning ballroom was the most amazing find. My fiancée, my dad and I have been taking lessons to prepare for our wedding for the last couple months, and to see how much improvement all of us have made over time is amazing. My experience with beggining ballroom has been phenomenal! My fiancé and I decided to take 10 sessions but started off with group sessions. Both were important to build confidence in our dancing. Lee was amazing! We started months before our wedding and took a total of 20 lessons... We were SUPER prepared and confident, and Lee totally taught to our skill and interest level, making the lessons super fun and productive! Would recommend to anyone! If you want a 'dancing with the stars' result, try out for the show... But if you want to learn to dance with confidence and competence, take AT LEAST 8-10 lessons with these guys and have the skills for real!

I am so glad we found Lee and Christine at Beginning Ballroom! He helped both my dad and I for the father-daughter dance, and my husband and I for our first dance. By spending time learning these dances, the dances at our wedding became a very memorable, meaningful, and fun moment in our wedding -- and we come away with a skill we will always have! As a groom who is self-diagnosed as beat deaf, I am so happy that we had Lee at Beginning Ballroom as our dance teacher. Hi instructions were clear and engaging and I felt confident during our first dance. Bonus was getting compliments from our wedding guest on our dance. Lastly, we looked forward to our dance lessons because it felt more like a fun date night than going to "class."

Lee and Christine know what they're doing! They spent a great deal of time up front to determine what we were looking to accomplish, then set realistic expectations! They helped us make an educated song choice (L.O.V.E. by Nat King Cole) to ensure the best chance of success at formulating a dance with our minimal skill level! We started dance lessons with little to no experience on my end, and a year or two of experience on my husband's end, about 1 month before the wedding date! Our schedule was always very hectic and Lee did a lot of bending over backwards to accomodate us to make it work! Our first dance went great, and managed to surprise and impress our guests! We hope to be able to go back for more lessons just for fun!

Lee and Christine were absolutely amazing!! I called them after my husband and i (unsuccessfully) tried to choreograph our own first dance and did not have much time left. Lee was very flexible with scheduling which was great for us since we both work in hospitality with very irregular schedules. Also, having them both available was super helpful since we had perspective and advice from both roles of a dance partnership. Our first dance went GREAT and we could not be happier.

My fiancé and I decided to take lessons for our upcoming wedding. We wanted to do something more than just "sway" back & forth (which was all we knew how to do before lessons) because boring... Right? Seriously, I am BLOWN away at the progress we have made in such a short time, all thanks to Lee and Christine! And by progress I mean we went from not knowing a single step in any organized dance to being able to swing dance! Every lesson we have with them is like a mini date night and always lots of fun. Lee and Christine have been so wonderful and I cannot thank them enough for their time and their genuine interest in teaching us how to dance. They really do care about each and every one of their students and it shows. We already plan on taking more lessons from them after our wedding!

Lee & Christine have been wonderful instructors! My fiancé and I have come much farther then we could have even imagined - the first lesson was rough but we kept going and now by lesson 9, we look and feel smooth & relaxed. I would 100% recommend other brides/grooms to take lessons with Lee & Christine for their wedding!

Lee is a great dance teacher! I am probably the most uncoordinated person in any room, so I was sceptical that anyone could teach me. My fiancé and I have made good progress and look forward to our group and private lessons!

Lee and Christine are amazing to work with! We are very grateful that they got us "first dance ready" in a short time while also making the process fun. My husband and I both have pretty hectic schedules, thankfully Lee and Christine were very accommodating in regards to scheduling and rescheduling appointments. It's clear that they both love dancing and love teaching others and inspiring them to also enjoy ballroom dance. They are very patient and break down steps in ways that are easy to understand. I loved their style of teaching; teaching the basics rather than a scripted dance. Our wedding was back in March and we've used our ballroom dance skills at every wedding we've attended since our own...and even a handful of times in our own kitchen. I would highly recommend their services to anyone getting ready for their first dance or anyone interested in learning ballroom dance.

We went into dance class a little apprehensive, but ended up loving it! In fact, our 10 class package quickly turned into 20 as Beginner Ballroom became our favorite night of the week- date night!

Beginning Ballroom did a fantastic job teaching us the basics and everything that we needed to know for our wedding. My husband and I are not dancers so were a bit apprehensive at first to take dancing lessons for our upcoming wedding. Christine and Lee however made us feel super comfortable and made it very fun. Let me start by saying that I hate dancing. From the very beginning, Lee and Christine created a better experience for my wife and I. They made the experience fun. My fiancé and I have taken both group and individual classes as a way to prepare for our Wedding. Lee is a knowledgable instructor, teaching a variety of dances. Neither of us are particularly "good" dancers, but Lee was very patient and encouraging throughout the entire process. He invests a lot of time and energy into his students success and makes it a fun experience for all. I would highly recommend Beginning Ballroom to any couple or individual!

I HIGHLY recommend Beginning Ballroom. My (now) husband and I started casually attending classes as a Valentines gift. Learning to dance was always on my list of ‘to dos’. Lee’s dance style is fun, fresh and informative. We turned these nights into our weekly date night. We would follow up a class by going to dinner and trying to find somewhere else to go out dancing. This gave us something interesting to talk about throughout the whole week, and I would find we often would stop even for just a few minutes during the day to “play around” and practice some of our moves even at home. Lee incorporates classic moves and basic steps not only with the traditional types of music that you would hear at a wedding, but also modern music you could hear at any music festival, bar or cruise. I have found my husband and I always enjoy weddings and events more now as we both have the confidence to get out on the dance floor and practice our moves again. In addition to the weekly classes, Lee and his wife helped my husband and I have an unforgettable first dance. We picked the song, and then we practiced using our basic steps from class, with only a few “special” moves that Lee taught us to spice up the dance. This left our first dance as being very personal, and not pre-choreographed but still something to be proud of. I could enjoy the moment, as opposed to being nervous about people watching me do something I had never practiced before.

My husband and I wanted to take lessons for our 1st dance at our wedding on 5/21/2016. I found Lee and Christine after a quick search for dance lessons. We couldn't be any happier! We attended some group but found the private lessons suited us best. They are so welcoming and work with you through everything. Lee was upfront about what we could achieve with the lessons we had which I really appreciated. We wanted to avoid the "prom sway". They did a great job of making us feel comfortable and we enjoyed our lessons each week! I highly recommend them. We loved it so much, we want to keep up with the lessons.

My husband and I were on the fence about whether or not we needed dance lessons and as we were debating, I saw a posting on our neighborhood website for Beginning Ballroom. We decided to give dancing (and dance lessons) a whirl. We signed up for their Wedding Wednesday package and took 4-5 group lessons leading up to our big day. I found the lessons incredibly helpful and my husband and I both really enjoyed learning and dancing together (which he was surprised by). I know guests at our wedding were impressed with our seamless looking dancing and "moves" and it is one of the most memorable parts of our wedding. I'd highly recommend Beginning Ballroom for dance lessons, especially if they're offering a Wedding Wednesday package

My husband and I took lessons with Lee and Christine to prepare for our first dance at our wedding. We didn’t have a particular song in mind, so Lee made some great suggestions for us to choose from. Lee was upfront with us about what was achievable given the time and number of lessons we had, and we were very pleased with the result. During lessons, Lee made sure we both really understood our roles in each step that we learned, and we were able to call him for help when we got confused practicing at home. Lee is pretty chatty, so he would be talking throughout the lesson, which really helped us learn to dance with distractions going on around us.

Beginning Ballroom is by far the absolute best place to take dance lessons for your wedding. They truly care about you as people and helping you achieve the best first dance you could ask for. You learn the steps to be able to ballroom dance and the rest you go with the flow. Honestly take the time and take many dance lessons you will feel so much better come that special day and you will NOT regret it. My husband and I are so glad we chose to take dance lessons from people who truly took the time to teach us the steps work through our frustrations and help make our first dance one that we will never forget. We certainly won't forget our friends and families reactions to our dance. Truly an incredible experience with incredible people! You will not be disappointed with the results they give you.

My husband and I worked with Lee over the course of 5 lessons! Lee worked with us and after every lesson we felt like we had moved mountains with our dancing. Lee is a wonderful instructor, who makes dancing fun! He has great follow up and will check in on you in between your classes via phone! He exceeded our expectations with our dancing level for our big day! Your first dance is a big deal, you have a lot of eyes on you. Lee made us look like professional dancers!

Beginning Ballroom (Lee and Christine) are wonderful. My husband and I have been taking lessons with them for over three years and when we decided to get married, they helped us with our first dance. They are professional, patient, and flexible. The lessons are always fun and productive, but not intimidating- they are great instructors!

Lee and Christine work dancing miracles. My only goal going into lessons was to get my then fiancé to be comfortable enough to endure the entire first dance without bolting off the floor with a panic attack. I didn’t care how we looked, didn’t care what type of dance, just wanted her on the dance floor for one whole song. That was as high as I could hope for before we started lessons. On our wedding night, she not only enjoyed the full length of our west coast swing dance, but got excited and would ask me to dance again later when she heard songs that would work with it! I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and I would definitely recommend the 10 week session, it’s worth every penny. During the sessions Lee liked to hold lengthy conversations with us while we were practicing, which drove me nuts at first. I learned he did it because my fiancé would absentmindedly relax and do really well when she felt like no one was really paying attention to the dancing. Best.Trick.Ever. It also helped me deal with the distraction of guests talking all around us. Whatever he says just go with it, he is dance yoda and there is always a reason. They run the lessons out of their house, which comes with a few small quirks like the occasional interruption by a small child. When this happened Lee always made sure to let the lesson run over so we got the full hour we paid for. In my opinion, the relaxed atmosphere, super flexible schedule, on-call second teacher, and one on one attention is well worth overlooking anything out of the ordinary. Also, they are super same-sex friendly so if you are worried about that I promise it's a non issue. I would definitely recommend doing the 10 week wedding package with Christine and Lee. My wife and I are hoping to continue our lessons some time later this year, hope you see you there!

My husband and I took dance lessons from Beginning Ballroom prior to our wedding. We had a great time learning not only a great selection of moves for our first dance, a foxtrot, but also the steps to several other dances including swing, the waltz, rhumba, and even salsa. Beginning ballroom's private lessons were a great break from wedding planning where we could just focus on spending time together and having fun. In fact, we enjoyed the lessons so much that we continued even after our wedding! We had a wonderful time dancing throughout our wedding and had many guests come up to complement us on how great our first dance was. In addition, now that we know how to dance, we have much more fun at weddings and other events where there is dancing. Beginning Ballroom has a great atmosphere for learning to dance. They are really willing to tailor your lessons to what you want, be that to learn a number of different steps, or learn and polish a dance for your wedding.

My husband and I were married 12/31/12, and I wanted to have a first dance that was more than just swaying in a circle. My husband is not so coordinated when it comes to dancing and was reluctant about a fancy dance. After several lessons with a patient, enthusiastic and encouraging Lee, we had an amazing fist dance. Lee was able to break down the steps in various ways until it clicked. He was also very flexible with lesson times, as we are both physicians and have crazy schedules. Lessons were also a great way to connect and spend time with my husband without directly talking about the wedding. We did take a short four week group class, which was great as well. We are thinking about continuing the group lessons just for fun
