True absolutely KILLED my make up for both the rehearsal and my wedding day. Without both True and Taylor's magical hands, I wouldn't have looked as great as I did! eptember 23rd wedding and I am so unimpressed with them. I’m sure they have good artists but I can’t say that was my experience with them. Everyone was so kind but for the amount of money spent with them, I am so unimpressed. I did my hair and makeup trial in March 2023. The makeup artist could not match my skin tone or do anything that was close to my inspo pictures. For context, I can do my own makeup and wear makeup regularly enough. I then did a second and third trial with different artists. Paid for each trial (they comp’d $25 on the 2nd trial and fully comp’d the 3rd trial). For the third artist, I was told I was getting a master artist. I ended up giving up on BTV for makeup artists and booked an entirely different artist for myself but keeping the third makeup artist for my bridesmaids who were not women of color thinking that it’d be easier for her. Not a single person who got their makeup done with her was happy and each spent time redoing her makeup before the ceremony started. As for the hair, I was extremely disappointed. I did a different style for my trial and decided for the wedding I wanted to do hollywood curls. Very clean and sleek curls and I even showed inspiration pictures. The hair stylist spent no more than ten minutes teasing my hair and curling it. I could have done a much better job curling my hair. Overall, a very disappointing experience and I just can’t believe I spent $2,500 on this. Inspiration pics posted versus what my hair looked like. Update: I'm not sure what photos the vendor is referencing in the comment of "You looked so gorgeous in your photos" which leads me to believe they posted a generic response. I did three different trials with three different make up artists and none of them did work that was worth a $200 session despite that I provided very specific feedback after each session with what I was looking for and provided photos of what I was looking for. Communication of what I wanted was not the issue. In addition, during my hair trial I trialed an updo because the stylist said should I want to do it half up or fully down it would be much easier to do. In addition, I paid $200 for a curl job that I could have done much better. Please reference the BTV job (pic of me in a wedding dress) vs how I did my own hair (pic of me in the pink dress). Had I known what I waste of money this would be, I would have searched harder or gone elsewhere. Also, the fact that they do not show any portfolios of stylists until you sign the contract is a red flag. The comment "We receive many inquiries each year along with hundreds of positive reviews because of our team's ability to work with such a wide range of clients" is why I booked with them originally, however, they were unable to place me with the correct artists. I would not recommend this company to anyone unless you have very simple asks.

with Jenn and she was extremely attentive to exactly what I wanted for my bridal makeup, down to the exact shade and contour. During the trial she was so thorough, then during the day of I was pretty stressed about the weather, and she did a fabulous job despite me being very distracted. I had several guests come up to me commenting on how good my makeup looked. I am extremely grateful and would highly recommend Behind the Veil for your wedding!

The team arrived early and finished early, which meant that we had more than enough time to ensure that the photographer was able to capture the shots we needed and everyone had the necessary touch ups. The hair held up through all of the events and late into the night dancing. I would definitely recommend BTV Beauty to anyone needing hair and make up services for their wedding!

I am someone that does not often do much with my hair and I rarely wear make-up, so I was unsure about specific things that I wanted, but Maria and Jenn were both able to expertly determine the perfect look for me based on my comfort level and the specific characteristics of my hair/skin. only interaction with the onsite team is day of your wedding, beyond that you communicating with others via email. Unfortunately, the email correspondence is highly lacking. There was an abundance of miscommunication, lack of responsiveness etc. I would have preferred to hire the artists directly, rather than book through BTV.

Renee styled my hair and gave me the romantic, loose up-do I wanted and Kelsey gave me the natural make-up look I was going for. ochelle were able to squeeze me in for my hair trial. I met Rochelle for the trial and showed her a picture for inspiration. I wanted a braid and the rest of my hair curly but I was nervous because my hair does not hold curls and with my wedding being in September I was super nervous about the humidity. Rochelle was able to do my hair exactly how I wanted it and the curls actually stayed! Then comes the wedding day, Rochelle was super prompt and professional! I even decided that day I wanted to add an additional braid and a hairpiece. Rochelle was so sweet and accommodating and made my wedding hair so much better than I ever could have envisioned! And as an added bonus my hair stayed curled all night, even through dancing! Rochelle also perfectly styled my bridesmaids hair! Which ranged from half up half down to all down with braids. All in all, Rochelle was truly amazing and I would highly recommend Behind the Veil.

my friends wedding, I couldn’t wait to sign up! I wasn’t the easiest bride because of my work shift schedule, uncertainty on what I wanted and also had a black eye on the day of the wedding. But this company did EVERYTHING they could to help me! The team was always on time, energized, and excited to work with us. Holly was accommodating and worked with my mom and I to get our hair just right. We loved her calm, cool and friendly personality! The make up artist, Angela, did SUCH a terrific job on my eye and make up, no one even noticed my black eye the day of the wedding! The make up was striking but so natural! She was perfect! I absolutely loved it! I got many compliments on how well she did! I dont know what i would have done without her! Laurie was so patient, kind, understanding and such a delight to work with as well! It is great that they have a physical location for trials and that you get to work with the girls you trial with (even if you’re like me and book it a year before your wedding). My head artists Heather and Joseline were open to criticism and really worked to make sure I had the look I wanted for the day! They were both so fun to work with and talk to, which really helps when the nerves start setting in. Everything turned out so well and I was so happy with the service.

Everyone was thrilled with how their hair and makeup came out, and I could not have been happier with the level of professionalism not only from the stylists but also from the administrative team. Most importantly, the hair and makeup team was very flexible. I had done my hair and makeup trial back in April (which in retrospect was too far in advance) and ended up changing my mind for both hair and makeup on the day of the wedding. Kelsey and Thea were extremely accommodating and with a combination of pictures and descriptions of what I wanted, were able to create the exact look I was going for. It was such an amazing day which was made even better by the fact that I felt beautiful and because working with Behind the Veil was so stress-free.
