Hiring Joy as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made throughout the wedding process. Not only did we end up with the most incredible wedding and engagement photos, but it was also all of the little things Joy did along the way that really made it so special. Communication was excellent and Joy was always quick to answer our many questions. Before this experience, neither my husband nor I really enjoyed being photographed, but Joy made us feel so comfortable throughout and we received such magical photos as the end result. On the wedding day, she and her team were so organized and kept us right on track with our wedding day schedule. From connecting with her love for Disney and the appreciation of all the creative photo locations Joy made us try, we really loved working with her on a personal and professional level. Joy was a recommended to me by a friend who had used her previously and once I researched more about her, I couldn't wait to meet with her! From a mutual love of all things Disney and running (especially running AT Disney parks!), I had such a great feeling about Joy before we even met with her! Once we did meet with Joy, picking her as our photographer was a no-brainer. My fiance and I just just felt an immediate comfort and trust with Joy. When it came time for our engagement pictures, we hit a bit of a snag with our location, and so less that 48 hours before the shoot, we were having to start conversations about relocating. She was so willing to work with us and our specific requests, like including our daughter into the pictures and finding a location that would make that feasible for that. As we were driving to the location we started getting thunderstorm warnings. We got to the forest preserve and Joy worked quickly and efficiently to make sure that we got all the gorgeous pictures that we could want. She guided us easily through poses, and encouraging us when we felt awkward (which helped to continue to put us at ease and feel more comfortable. Leading up to the day of the wedding, I had zero concerns about our timeline because Joy very explicitly timed things out for me. I knew exactly where everyone needed to be and when which eased so much of my anxiety. On the day of the wedding, Joy was a friendly and calming face. She was a stage manager organizing the entire bridal party as the boys and girls were getting ready in rooms that were literally right next door, but managed to keep us separated. She was a visionary, finding the perfect spots that made for the most beautiful photographs. She was able to also keep up the spirits and keep the attentions of an 8-year-old and two 1-year-olds throughout all of the family portraits! Joy was magic. I don't have enough amazing things to say about Joy; and I think the biggest compliment I could give would be to say that I absolutely cannot wait to work with her again in the future and we most definitely will be!

A wedding day comes and goes in the blink of an eye, once it is over, all we have left are memories and pictures. Choosing Joy to be our photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Looking through our pictures has helped us relive the day over and over. We had quite the complicated photo request list with my children, my two sets of parents, and my husband's family, but she was able to get it all done with ease. She also took our engagement pictures and my husband, who doesn't like having pictures taken, felt she made the experience enjoyable. If I could give Joy 10 stars I would! We booked Joy 2 years in advance because she was the easiest decision we made when it came to our wedding and we didn't want to risk the chance of not having her. She has an amazing personality that makes you so comfortable in front of the camera and the results are phenomenal! We had to race the sun due to the time change and she handled that a champ and made us a timeline/schedule to go back that made the day run even smoother even though we had restraints. Joy is amazing! We booked Joy for our July 2020 wedding and just did engagement photos with her. We are thrilled with the outcome; they are gorgeous! Joy is by far the best photographer to have for your wedding day! She did my twin sister's wedding in 2017 and I knew right then that I wanted her for my big day. I chose Joy to be my wedding photographer, and it was the BEST decision I could have ever made. As a photographer myself, choosing someone to capture your wedding day is a bit scary in some ways. As a photographer who doesn't like having her photos taken, it brings a whole additional set of complications to the table. I honestly went into the wedding day, hoping to have maybe a dozen or so photos that I loved, and you know what? I loved EVERY. SINGLE. ONE! Even all of the images of myself. Joy is a creative and talented photographer with an eye for details. She spent time getting to know us before the wedding so that she could take the photos that were important to us. She posted many of our wedding photos on her blog less than a week after our wedding! We are very pleased with all the photos she took.
