I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Bella’s Beauty Salon & Spa. I booked Bella’s for my November 20, 2026 wedding because they were affordable and signed a Service ...Agreement with them on October 17, 2025. The signed agreement specifically listed $325 total for special occasion hair and makeup and special occasion hair for myself as bride and my maid of honor, including my $85 deposit and a $240 remaining balance due before the wedding. The agreement also states that amendments require written consent from both parties.
Before booking, I was given pricing information stating that bridal hair was $95 and bridal makeup was $100, and I was also told that all hair textures were welcome. I provided information and reference photos regarding the looks I wanted from the beginning.
I recently had my hair and makeup trial and was actually very happy with the results. Unfortunately, the experience became disappointing afterward.
I was originally quoted $75 per trial service, but after the services were completed, I was informed that the trial price was being increased by $20 because my hair was long/thick and because additional adjustments were needed for the makeup to achieve the look I originally requested (which the girl wasn’t happy to do during and also pushed back). When I questioned the additional charge and provided the original pricing communication, there was pushback.
Then, after the trial, I received an email stating that my already-booked wedding services would no longer remain at the contracted price of $195 for bridal hair and makeup. They wanted to increase that amount to $250, and they also wanted to increase the $45 travel fee to $55 when the location remained the same. Their explanation was that my hair required additional time because of its length, thickness, and density, and that I had requested an “extra full-glam” makeup look. Again, nothing about my makeup or hair look changed from the original one.
My concern was that these additional charges were not disclosed to me as conditions that could change the price after I had already signed a contract. The signed agreement established the wedding-day services, total price, deposit, and remaining balance. I respectfully told them that I did not consent to changing the existing agreement and that I was still willing to keep my appointment and pay the contracted balance.
Instead of honoring the agreement, Bella’s ultimately responded unprofessionally and canceled my appointment themselves, stating that they were exercising their right to cancel.
They also claimed that the stylist felt uncomfortable because there were “three different opinions” during my trial. There was no threatening or inappropriate behavior; there were simply feedback during a trial while trying to achieve the desired, original look. Very disappointing that this was characterized as a reason to terminate the relationship.
For a bride planning a wedding, reliability, transparency, and honoring agreed-upon pricing are incredibly important. I am now having to find a new hair and makeup team for my wedding. I am leaving one star because, while I was pleased with the trial results, the overall business experience and handling of the contract and pricing were extremely disappointing. I hope the salon is more transparent about pricing and potential additional charges with future brides so that no one else has to go through this during an already stressful wedding-planning process.
