From start to finish, our experience at Belligrath was nothing short of amazing. Melissa and her team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel so supported throughout the entire process. Every guest raved about how beautiful the venue was and how helpful and welcoming the staff were. It truly felt like a dream come true. We’re so grateful we chose Bellingrath Gardens for our special day — it was the perfect setting and made our celebration even more memorable. Highly recommend this incredible team and venue to anyone looking for a flawless event experience!
Bellingrath is an absolutely gorgeous venue, that I hoped my guests would be able to enjoy; unfortunately, it poured down rain before, during, and after our ceremony in the family chapel on the estate. Also conspiring against us was the AC in the chapel: it wasn't hot, but it was stuffy, and the fans added noise without stirring the air much. Still, none of those things were anyone's fault, and the the staff went above and beyond for us in the aspects that were within their power, including shuttling us back and forth in the rain, allowing us to take pictures in drier places that usually would have been off limits, and wrapping our ceremony items in plastic against the weather. My only recommendation would be that they do something about the bridal room; no one wants to get ready, let alone have pictures taken, in the basement/ office.

The Bellingrath Gardens, established by Walter and his wife, Bessie Mae Morse Bellingrath, opened to the public in 1932. As the beautiful gardens gained popularity and recognition, the husband-and-wife duo built a 15-room, 10,500-square-foot residency on the property, designed by local architect George B. Rogers, in 1935. The elegant building was constructed with salvaged red bricks from the home of renowned local suffragette Alva Smith Vanderbilt Belmont and ironwork from the demolished Southern Hotel. Overall, the residence reflects the heritage and style of the region, boasting a slate roof, copper downspouts, and flagstone terraces.
For your once-in-a-lifetime event, Bellingrath Gardens and Home invites you to avail of its magnificent outdoor event spaces to say “I do,” surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty under glorious Southern sunshine. The venue offers countless photoshoot opportunities thanks to the exquisite flowers, plants, and trees on-site.
