When I was torn between two styles, she went out of her way to work with Lea-Ann Belter designers to create a custom gown combining the pieces of each that I loved and at no extra cost! The alteration process was easy and fun - I always felt that I was in great hands with Monica and her team. the bride’s vision and wedding plans. Her selection is deep, and she encouraged my daughter to try on a range of possibilities, listening carefully to her feedback. Our appointment was private and relaxed in Belissima’s light-filled space, and Monica called the designer during our appointment to check the possibilities of combining a skirt from one dress with the bodice from another as well as widening straps and ordering a dress in a different fabric. We felt zero pressure to make a purchase that day, but after visits to two other salons, it was clear that Belissima is head and shoulders above the rest. We are thrilled our daughter will become the third Belissima bride in the family!

during a pandemic, and we felt very safe with Belissima's COVID-19 protocol. Monica and her team had pulled dresses based on our email conversations, but I also felt free to explore the selection. Monica has a huge selection of gowns but it's not overwhelming, and I love the designers she carries. She has such a command for the industry and the possibilities in terms of customization, etc. I had done a bit of perusing online before my appointment, and I had two gowns in mind by a Belissima designer that I knew I wanted to try. Monica was able to bring in the gowns in time for my appointment, which was very special. It was a wonderful experience and I can't recommend them enough. I wasn't sure what style I wanted and Monica, the owner, was so patient and helpful. After each dress I tried on she asked what I liked and didn't like. id I know, I'd find my dress then and there. I'd been in touch with Monica setting up my Saturday appointment and sent her some pictures of dress styles I'd fallen in love with online. After unsuccessfully trying on 5 beautiful gowns in the boho/minimalist styles I requested (unsuccessfully because I personally didn't feel I was rocking them) , Monica suggested a gown that was *completely* different from the styles I'd sent her. It was THE ONE. That's just to say, Monica meets her clients, talks to them and immediately realizes their personalities and body types and finds the one that'll fit like a glove. Cue the waterworks from my mom, sisters and MOH when they placed one of their veils on my hair to complete the look. I couldn't have been more pleased. Thanks also to Brittany for her care and attention to detail while helping me try my gorgeously intricate gown. I married the love of my life in an extremely romantic lace sleeved and chiffon ballroom gown that I felt sexy and beautiful in thanks to Monica and Brittany. My perfect dress was actually one Monica had pulled right from the beginning however she tried other things on me to help confirm that I had found "the one". There are probably 100 dresses in the shop but it felt so easy to find the right gown. Everything felt so right. After visiting two other boutiques I realized that lighting is very important. Bellissima had the best combination of natural and overhead lighting. The mirrors are gorgeous and the space just feels comfortable. This was honestly the worst experience I've had dress shopping. I sent pictures of what I was looking for before my appointment and was clear about my budget. The saleswoman pulled about 6 dresses, all of which came from their sample sale and...
would have to be purchased as is. But none of the dresses she pulled were really what I was looking for, and I explained why to the saleswoman. So after about 45 minutes, she asked if I would like to try any of the 6 dresses on again. When I said no, she took the dresses out of the changing room and never came back. Apparently that was the end of my appointment! It was extremely awkward. My mom then asked if we could see a different style I was interested in. The saleswoman went back to the same 6 dresses and proceeded to tell us how they could be significantly altered to be a different style. Again, very awkward.
According to their website, they carry dresses within my budget. So I'm not sure why they only wanted me to try on dresses from their sample sale? Perhaps they just didn't have the kind of dress im looking for. If so, it would've been nice for them to explain that to me rather than push me out of the door.
I was also under the impression that my appointment would last an hour and a half, not 45 minutes. So I literally spent more time driving to this appointment than I did actually looking at dresses. Very disappointing.

We go above and beyond to let brides know the price range of the gowns in the salon. Our gowns begin at $1,500 and go up to $5,000. We have that information posted on our website and when you schedule your online appointment....
We also make very frequent posts on social media about wedding gowns budgets and the price range of our gowns in the shop. We do that so that no bride is disappointed and knows what to expect in our boutique. With that said, we strive to work in every bride’s budget. We pride ourselves in helping brides find a beautiful off the rack sample for $1,000 just as much as we love helping our brides with a $5,000 budget.
When you filled out the online submission you selected $1,500-$2,000 range and you sent photos of a variety of gowns. We did have similar gowns in your budget. However, when you arrived you showed your consultant a photo of a fully beaded bodice gown from a lower priced salon that you liked. You also said that your actual budget was $1,500 or less. We have beautiful options at $1,500 with light beading and lace but we don’t have a fully beaded bodice gown under $1,500. Your consultant was doing everything she could to keep you in budget and show you how we could achieve your look. I am sorry that Bellissima wasn’t a good fit for your aesthetic or your budget but I know your bridal consultant was friendly and respectful. We wish you all the best on your future wedding.
All bridal shops have different price points, designers and design aesthetic. You can find all information about our designers and price points on our website and social media. We want to make sure all brides feel well informed. We invite bride to visit our website, Instagram and to call or email me any questions. Some other pros - the lighting is great. There is a good amount of natural light and overhead light. My bridal consultant, Brittney, really took time to get to know me and what I was looking for. heard wonderful things about this place, and Monica. I did not actually work with Monica though and maybe my experience would have been a bit different if I had. I'm only here to give honest feedback about my experience. I did not feel that there was a large selection or that I was overwhelmed by beautiful choices, and I tried on about 5/6 dresses in my time there. I found one that COULD be drastically altered to be what I needed, but it would be the dress there in the store which was 5 sizes too large, so we're looking at a lot of alterations. I don't hold any of this against them. its like shopping for anything. Sometimes you just don't find what you're looking for and that is okay!
Here is the part of my experience that is worth mentioning
Like I said I did find a dress that could be altered to be what I liked, but when I mentioned I had another appointment that afternoon I was told I could have 20% off that dress if I bought that same day. I said okay, well after I go to my next appointment I will call back here and let you know if I want this dress so I don't lose out on the 20% (that is hundreds of dollars and basically if I don't choose this dress within hours I will lose out on hundreds of dollars!) this is the first place I've ever gone to try dresses by the way! Please don't try to light a fire under my butt. If this dress truly is the right one, I will get it. Spending thousands of dollars on anything should be a carefully
Thought out decision.
I was then told: "if you found the dress you like here, why would you go to your other appointment?"
That made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Please don't make me feel bad for having an appointment elsewhere. Maybe I go there and hate the dresses... but to feel that amount of pressure is not right for something like a wedding dress. It put stress on me. I walked out of there at 1 pm with a weight on me because of this new "deadline" of 5 pm.
This is the same reason people hate shopping for cars. You feel pressure from the sales person who wants to make that sale.
If I were the consultant working with a bride I think I would have had enough confidence in my dresses to say... enjoy your other appointment! Our beautiful dress is here should you have no luck there. Don't you want the bride to find the right dress for her? I went to my other appointment and felt no pressure at all. It was a different experience entirely where I felt the owner had a real genuine interest in ME and what I was looking for.
I'm not angry about how things happened at all and I'm not going to give one star because of any bitterness. My experience certainly wasn't BAD. I Just wish that element of pressure had never existed. The consultant I worked with was nice. I'm sure they do a wonderful job with many brides. I personally just wanted to share my experience and let anyone know what to be prepared for should you go there. Maybe save this place for last? So you have other things to compare it to and will feel more comfortable making a decision quickly should they offer a same day discount on a dress you love.

e we don’t feel that the review reflects your bridal appointment. You seemed very happy throughout the entire appointment, so this has blindsided us. We completely dispute the review but please allow me address every concern.
You scheduled your appointment directly with me. In your appointment submission you stated “interested in trying on some dresses.” I emailed you to find out more information about styles you might be interested in and you sent me one photo and the following description “As far as a dress goes, I like an A-line, floor length... and I want it to be very flowy. I'm thinking silk chiffon. My main thing is I want it to be very breezy and move-able. Nothing stiff or too form fitting.” We have many dresses that fit that description so we were excited for your appointment. Working within your budget we tried on 6 chiffon gowns and other materials like tulle and organza because those have a similar flow. I am sorry that you weren’t happy with our selection or impressed by our gowns. That is first time I’ve heard that criticism. We strive to keep brides in budget so we couldn’t try everything, but we had a great selection in your budget.
During your appointment you said you found a gown you loved. It needed to be taken in a little on each side and you had requested to lower the neckline. The alterations would have been normal easy alterations performed by our seamstress. The gown was not 5 sizes too big. That’s just not true.
This past weekend we had an Amsale Trunk Show and were offering 10% off Trunk Show orders (a standard Trunk Show discount offered by bridal salons during Trunk Shows). We also had 20% off discontinued Samples. We cannot and do not offer discounts on gowns except at Trunk Shows or at Sample Sales. The gown you liked was an off the rack sample and you were offered that discount. It’s not a sales tactic, it’s a sale and like all sales they have an end date. The Sample price kept you in budget even with the cost of alterations. That Sample Sale price was offered to everyone shopping during the Sale.
Standing on the podium you said you loved the dress and began crying. Crying is a big emotion that we don’t always see so we all assumed this was your bridal moment. In our experience when a bride has such a strong reaction and says she loves the gown – she’s normally found the gown. Our goal is to help you find the perfect wedding gown in a beautiful fun atmosphere. Your bridal consultant happily helped you out of the gown and wished you and your guests a great weekend. I was standing there when you told your bridal consultant that you would be calling her later. You said it a couple of times because you genuinely seem excited about the dress. She offered to schedule you another appointment and even stay later so that you could try the gown on again. She was more than accommodating and there was no pressure.
The consultants at Bellissima have worked with brides since we opened in Winston Salem. They work very hard for each and every bride that enters the boutique. I have a small staff so I can be assured that each bride and their guests are treated with kindness and respect. We completely dispute this review and kindly ask to be reviewed based on facts.

Monica is SO knowledgeable about the designers, the timeframe for ordering, and the different customizable aspect of each gown. I tried on several gowns from Truvelle and really liked the skirt on one but the bodice on another. Monica was so patient and took the time to explain how we could mix and match different skirts and bodices and even switch the corset ties in the back for a zipper. They were super easy to communicate with via email and phone and kept me informed on every step of the process so that I was never concerned about the gown arriving. I also got my dress tailored through them and the price was very reasonable and the tailor that they use was super talented and easy to communicate with, as well. I also got my veil from Bellisima. The veil was an elbow length veil that I loved but I really wanted a cathedral length veil. Monica calmly said we could of course turn that one into a cathedral length! Everything was perfect at Bellisima and I would highly highly recommend them to all brides. They are smart, trustworthy and patient which is exactly what a bride needs when picking out the dress of all dresses. :)

From my first appointment, I brought my mother along, while I started to get a better feel of what I wanted. Monica hand selected gowns to help me get a better understand of the different shapes! I would recommend EVERY bride doing this! Let her pull these for you!! This helped me tremendously, but confused me (in a good way) because every gown was so beautiful!
Her selections of gowns might not seem large to the eye but I know from experience Bellissima, will deliver! The way she has her store set up is so neat because you can actually see the gowns! This is very pleasant! When comparing pricing I felt like Bellissima was very reasonable considering the quality of her selections. In the Bridal industry, you do get what you pay for. It might seem a little pricey to some, but overall the selection of gowns at Bellissima are VERY reasonable and all these gowns are worth EVERY penny!
Another thing that I loved about my first appointment was Monica's assistance in the dressing room. It really helps when the professional is there even before you can look in the mirror to adjust and place things where they need to be! She did a wonderful job at clipping the dress so I could get a better feel of how it would look when it would be when the proper size and tailoring. If I had been thrown into a room by myself I would have probably skipped so many gorgeous dresses that I fell in love all because I didn't know how the dresses fit!
For my second appointment after, a good ole southern "think and sleep on it" Monica, had recently picked up a new designer, Kelly Faetanini. If you are looking for that perfect, elegant, timeless, classic with a taste of southern look no further! I had my eye set on "Emmy" after Monica, suggested I research some of the designs until the dresses arrived and I saved the best for last! The moment I put on "Emmy" I knew she was my girl!

ience. I think bridal salons can be intimidating but as soon as we met the owner we felt comfortable. She's a lot of fun, definitely knows what she is doing and is easy to talk to. The salon is gorgeous and the selection is fantastic (I would say about 100 gowns to choose from). The gowns probably start at $1500 and go up to $5000. We had a $2500 budget and she kept us in budget with fantastic ideas. I loved the designers that were offered and the samples were in perfect condition. I brought my mom and sister to the appointment and we had an incredible time. I found the most gorgeous gown and the decision was easy. By the end of the appointment we all hugged the owner (Monica). It was truly the experience that every bride deserves! Thank you Monica!

Although I knew from the beginning the experience would not be great I stayed and gave the gowns a shot. I tried on 3 or 4 gowns and quickly realized that gowns were not the same quality. Bellissima is a "by appointment only" shop, so when you are trying on dresses, you have Monica's full attention and have the mirror all to yourself. I never once felt pressured or rushed when trying on dresses, and Monica even let us know when the dress I loved was going to be in a trunk show so that I could get a better price. She has ordered bridesmaid dresses for me, just to have my girls try on, whether or not I was going to purchase them.
Just when I thought Bellissima could not be any more perfect, Monica came into work after hours to allow me to get ready for my bridal portraits in her shop! She steamed my veil for me, while I used her space to doll myself up for Salisbury portraits. I cannot say enough about Bellissima! The dresses are gorgeous and the experience is PERFECT!
