Based out of Saco, Maine, Ben Lyons Music can be your one-stop shop for everything sound and music related at your wedding. Ben offers live music and DJ/MC options for each part of your wedding day including the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. From calming live acoustic instrumental music to bumping dance party classics, Ben is able to fit the mood and vibe you're aiming for.
For your ceremony or cocktail hour, Ben can provide live solo or duo acoustic guitar, guitar and violin duo or singing with guitar. Alternatively, if you love the original versions of your favorite songs, he can cue them from a device.
For those looking for a wedding band, the four-piece Ben Lyons Band is also available to perform, including an electric guitar, bass guitar, full drum set, and keyboard. They can play songs from most any genre, from R&B to country.
As a DJ/MC, Ben's approach is to play mostly full songs but ensure smooth and seamless transitions from one song to the next. Ben is flexible as to what songs are played, but is capable of choosing songs on the fly based on what is actively happening on the dance floor. If you have general guidelines, Ben can run with those and do the rest of the work himself. However, you can provide as much specific guidance to Ben as you want - It's your day, after all! Unless directed otherwise, Ben will aim to play a little something for everyone, ensuring people from all ages and demographics have something they love to dance to.
This versatile professional primarily offers full day wedding music packages, but creates customized quotes as needed to best suit your needs and wedding type. Ben is the primary point person for all of his weddings and takes pride in his responsiveness, flexibility and attention to detail. Knowing we could trust him allowed us to focus on other aspects of our wedding weekend without feeling the need to micromanage such an important vendor.
Second, his dedication to ensuring we had exactly what we wanted was outstanding. Ben invited us to attend one of his live performances so we could experience his talent firsthand. He even performed several songs we were considering for our wedding, giving us the opportunity to hear them before making our final selections. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the planning process even more special.
Finally, his talent is absolutely unbelievable. Every single guest at our wedding was amazed by his performance. Ben has a remarkable ability to cover a wide variety of songs while adding his own unique style and personality—and honestly, in my opinion, making them even better!

Now to the music - I am a music teacher and professional violinist myself. This guy is a top notch player with an amazing voice. He plays it all - the band even played an old Taking Back Sunday song for us that we requested to be played that night. Our guests raved about the music and still do to this day! He made sure that the music was never a worry on our big day.
