Sami Nakishbendi, the owner and designer of fine jewelry brand, Bendi Jewelers, has been designing and handcrafting his custom jewelry creations for over two decades, staying true to the brand's core philosophy - to design with simplicity, enduring quality and beauty in mind - with the introduction of each new collection.
Originally from Syria, Sami came to the U.S. in 1983 to attend college at Temple University. After pursuing architecture and dentistry majors, he gravitated towards the precious metals field and began wholesaling silver and gold during the day, while also working on his own designs at night.
In 1997, Sami opened Bendi Jeweler's on Main Street in Manayunk so that he could continue to pursue his passion for creating original, custom-made designs. It was a decision that

I had recently taken my engagement ring to the 'best of the best' in center city and resized it down to be a full size larger than I needed- I left thinking something was wrong as the ring looked damaged but brushed it off. THANK GOD I went to Sami for the final resizing. He ever-so-nicely pointed out the damage done to the ring; cautious of bad mouthing another which I greatly respected. For half the price of the original resizing, Sami flawlessly fixed and resized the ring down and gave us a beautiful appraisal along with some fun facts about the history of the ring and it's coal region origins. We both went to pick up the ring and were in tears over the beauty he brought out in it. I look forward to working with him on my husband-to-be's wedding ring and all future jeweler needs.
