Bent Mountain Lodge was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding! We wanted to be in the mountains, we wanted a space we could share with family and friends, and we wanted a venu...e that had some quiet spaces where people could chat or decompress if they wanted to move away from the dance floor for a bit. Bent Mountain Lodge delivered all of that and more.
I want to be clear that this is not Pristinely Arranged Wedding Venue #12. The Lodge is family-owned and run by David and Ginger, who were both absolutely wonderful to work with. The Lodge on wedding day was not the same as the Lodge we toured, but in a good way. David and Ginger are always looking for ways to improve the Lodge for all its purposes. They made numerous upgrades between our initial visit and the wedding day. This led to an incredibly homey and authentic feel that we adored. Everything felt personal, rather than artificially sanitized for the perfect photo op.
Bent Mountain Lodge offered two wedding options: we could get the property on just Saturday, or for an understandably more expensive but still incredibly reasonable price point, we could get the entire property from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon. We went with the latter. It provided nice housing for our wedding party and families on-site, reducing the need to transit, and giving us the opportunity to spend more time with the people we valued the very most. We had our rehearsal dinner on-site, using the spacious kitchen and a small grill they maintain to do a relaxed cookout, which was perfect for us.
We had perfect weather and were able to set everything up outside, but the venue is flexible and has options for indoor ceremonies and seating if needed. The space allowed for a beautiful ceremony set against the mountains, and they provided multiple options for decorations and backdrops for the ceremony. Our ceremony was ~100 people, so we held it on the grass next to the deck, but a smaller ceremony could be held on the deck as well without losing the views at all.
Both the bride and groom have their own designated getting ready areas. The bridal area was outfitted with mirrors with lights built in and plenty of counter space. The groom’s area had couches, a theater space, a bar area, darts, and a pool table. It served as a great hangout space while hiding away when the guests started to arrive as well.
We used the deck for the seating for the reception, and the large gazebo-esque central area for the first dances and the general dance floor. Spillover dancing happened on the grass, the deck, and all around, but we could comfortably fit most of our dancing guests in there at once. The venue provided tables, which we outfitted with linens and decorations. Our DJ handled the sound system, which worked great for the outdoor space. The venue also has yard games like cornhole, which was a big hit with our guests. There was also a fire pit which provided a great cozy space to sit and chat or cook s’mores.
All in all, Bent Mountain Lodge was the perfect venue for our wedding. It was a great value for all the time we got to spend in it and the amenities that were included. We hope to go back, even just as a little escape to the mountains to reminisce. While it’s a little trickier than some venues to get to, being in the mountains and all, just tell your most motion-sickness-prone guests to build a little extra time into their travel plans. We promise that it’s worth it.
