I discovered Bernie’s after a trip to Smorgasburg in DTLA with a friend, and after a taste I knew I had to bring my husband to give it a go. We ended up hiring Bernie’s Italian Ice... for our wedding and it was truly one of the biggest hits of the night! Our guests absolutely loved it and many went back for seconds (and even thirds). For most of our guests, it was their first time trying it, and they couldn’t stop raving about how delicious it was. My mom has been begging me to take her to Smorgasburg to have some more!
My husband and our guests raved about how the staff was so fun and nice and they really enjoyed how interactive it felt with the blow torch for the meringue. The blow torch finish on the meringue added such a wow factor.
From a planning perspective, they were also fantastic to work with. Jon was super receptive via email and he made everything easy (which is a godsend with all the stressful planning). Jon helped us set up a visit at one of their stands so we could sample flavors ahead of time — which made us even more confident in our choice because every single flavor was delicious.
If you’re looking for a unique dessert experience that your guests will remember, Bernie’s is it. We’re so happy we booked them and would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat!
