Best DJ & Karaoke Service

I was at the wedding noted below. Everything stated was correct. The dj was ridiculous and would not recommend him.

So where do I start? He did very poorly at my wedding reception. It started off with him annoucing the groomsmen names wrong, he said one of our groomsmen's name twice. Then he kepy coming up to my wife to ask when certain things should happen, he was being very bothersome. Then while we were dancing, one of his songs was skipping because he was using CD's. What DJ in 2017 uses CD's. And to top it off when we threw the bouquet and garter, he egged on my 18 year old nephew to put the garter farther up my 11 year old nieces thigh, everyone was yelling at him from the crowd and he continued to egg it on. So we left a bad review on gigmasters and then moved on. The completely unprofessional straw that really broke the camel's back was that he called up my wife about the reviw we left and tell her that it was false. He left a reply to our review to say it was false as well. So he calls up to my wife telling her to remove the review and convince her that he did a good job. That made me upset so i called him up and he is clearly only worried about the bad review for his reputation, he didn't try to give me even a cent back of my money, he apologized but only to try to get us to change the review. He doesn't care. He is an old man stuck in his ways and is somehow convinced he did a good job but it was such an embarrassment to have him as a DJ. He gets to keep his money and his business and our only wedding day had a terrible DJ and can never be changed? Gee thanks for your terrible service DJ Richard. Never hiring a DJ for an event again.

ABSOLUTELY stay away from this dj! He did my wedding reception and it was a disaster! He went over the names of our wedding party to know who was who JUST before we were heading out onto the dance floor and he completely messed up and repeated the same name twice completely embarrassing our groomsman In front of our guests and mixed up the order of everyone. He used CDs that were scratched & everyone was out on the dance floor just standing around looking at my husband and I asking where we had found him. The dance floor was empty most of the night. He also kept coming up to us about twice an hr asking when we wanted to do things such as mother/son dance, father/daughter dance, cutting the cake, throwing the bouquet, line dances, ECT. That should have been all prepared beforehand so we could enjoy our reception but it wasn't. Not to mention, my 11 yr old flower girl caught the bouquet and my 18 yr old nephew caught the garter, and Richard kept prompting him to put it higher and higher on her theigh. The little girls mother and father were shouting at him "no, on her wrist" and Richard responded with "no its for fun"...I had to answer to her mother who was furious. On top of everything, I left a bad review on gigsmaster for Richard and he called me on the phone not to apologize, or offer a partial refund but to dispute the review. He insisted he had done a good job but I have 40-50 guests that witnessed otherwise! The only thing some guests liked was the music which i, and my husband had chosen. DO NOT hire Richard Phillips! He will ruin your event!!!

We found Richard through Gigmasters. We submitted a request for quotes from several djs and his was the lowest. He was also our first choice because we liked the idea of an oldies dj and Richard has a long-running oldies show on a New Haven radio station. We are not ourselves baby-boomers :), but our parents are and, especially considering how many of my parents' friends would be at our wedding, we felt this would be a good choice. Our instincts were right--when Richard played oldies, our guests, from kids to 30-somethings to baby-boomers got on the dance floor. Richard is very versatile and easy going. He lets you submit a 50 song list (of any type of music, not just oldies!) before the event and takes requests during the event. Many people commented to us that they liked his personable, easygoing personality.
