hem!! I love pictures and this was one of the most important aspects of our wedding to me. My husband and I got married in April of 2017 in Northern Michigan. I had high hopes for pictures and even then I was blown away! Beth and John are very knowledgeable and highly skilled. They gave us great advice for pictures, put in the extra effort to make sure they captured the scenery of our destination venue (the first time they had been to Castle Farms), were so accommodating and receptive to our input, and took gorgeous photos. From just a few conversations I felt like they knew us so well and what was important to us in our pictures. We are a three person family and Beth Joy made sure to help us capture both pictures of us as a couple and family ones as well. We even had our puppy join the family for engagement pictures! Photographing a child and puppy is not the easiest of tasks but Beth and John pulled it off beautifully. The whole family had fun taking pictures with Beth Joy - both at our engagement shoot and on the big day! We did engagement and wedding photos with Beth Joy Photography and on both occasions we received beautiful pictures very quickly. We even had sneak peaks before the pictures were all ready! Our engagement pictures were taken in December too so we were shocked to have our pictures back so fast during that busy month with the holidays. For both our engagement and wedding photos, we were amazed at how many pictures Beth and John captured for us. They truly went above and beyond and made sure to get each moment. They were the perfect balance of being present but invisible. In the moments we needed them, they acted as extended bridal party offering a helping hand. I swear I didn't see them sit down for 12 hours straight, I don't think they missed a single moment at our wedding! Whether it was Bethany standing in the rain or John taking large family portraits of 30+ people while standing on a chair at the venue, they always went ABOVE AND BEYOND! aits/bridal party/bride and groom photos would go, but nobody ended up being in the spot they were supposed to when they were supposed to. Bethany and John totally rolled with it, and we just worked with whoever was available. They were direct, professional, and didn't waste any time. My ultimate goal was to be able to make happy hour (we took our photos after the ceremony but before reception), and in that tight hour-and-a-half, we managed to get all the photos we wanted and then some! Best part was we were able to even make cocktail hour. I just received my photos a few weeks ago and just can't stop looking through them. They're gorgeous! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. If you want your photos to look better than all your friend's wedding photos (wink wink), Beth Joy Photography is the way to go :)

as a DREAM. Bethany and her husband John are SO talented and friendly. Working with them was literally the easiest part of my wedding planning. They were so flexible when we met for our engagement photos; my husband is *not a fan* of being in front of a camera, and this often comes across as him looking uncomfortable and unhappy in a photo. Bethany and John made us laugh and feel pretty and comfortable, and our photos turned out natural and perfect! I cannot express what a miracle that is. When it came time for the wedding, Bethany and John came to our city early and shot our rehearsal so they could get a feel for the church and ceremony. This was really helpful because they could touch base with the planner and make sure to be in the right spots, as our church was particular about where the photographers could be. It was so awesome of them to come early so we could all be ready for the big day! FINALLY, on our wedding day, these two were amazing. They got all the details, photos of both my husband and myself getting ready, and everything we wanted before the ceremony, even though the time crunch seemed crazy. The photos they took of our ceremony and the bridal party sessions are nothing short of breathtaking. The couple knows how to manage a crowd of excited people, take funny and cute group photos, and glamorous, loving couple portraits. They also captured our reception and guests so wonderfully, and even the late-night dancing photos look lovely! This couple is such a wonderful team; they communicate with each other so well and the outcome is just perfect. They are sweet, friendly, dedicated, flexible, responsive, easy to work with (and once you link them with your other vendors you don't have to worry about coordinating anything!) which is PRICELESS when you are planning a wedding. Then of course you get amazing photos within the promised time frame. We still can't decide which to print because there are SO MANY that we love. Also, Bethany has the couple prepare an outline with details that help her and John (what combination of family photos you want, what special items you'll have, what time to arrive at different locations, etc), but ultimately helps YOU with planning. I used her outline as a basis for my master timeline, and it helped me be sure I wasn't forgetting anything. It's so helpful. I cannot say enough good things about this team, and would recommend them to ANYONE and EVERYONE!

This is so important for brides who aren't used to modeling like me and my fiance were!), and were just in general total sweethearts. They helped to make you feel so comfortable and their style is so soft and romantic! They filled in the gaps as needed and trust me when I tell you that I gave them quite a doozy of a timeline, but they still managed to capture all of the important details! We had so many traditions from merging two different cultures (Austrian and Taiwanese) so it was so much fun for them to capture all of our little details for us! They truly did a wonderful job and I can't stop recommending them to everyone! They are very reasonably priced and they certainly do travel to different locations! Check their website to see which locations they will give you a good deal for, and they are such sweet people, you can ask them anything! They were so easy to talk to and so easy to work with. They perfectly captured the rustic farm wedding that we were striving for! Protip, ask her for florist recommendations! She also knows some great florists!
