The memories we have of our engagement photo session and our wedding day are the best of our lives, and when we look at the pictures they become that much more vivid and real. We have La Vida to thank for that and so much more. All of the La Vida photographers are extremely personable people who care about you as a couple and know that the only way they're going to get amazing photos is if you feel comfortable around them. The best example of this is their requirement to do an engagement session with their couples prior to the wedding day. Not only do you get amazing photos out of the session, but the whole time they are taking note of how you interact with each other as a couple - your dynamic, unspoken gestures and quirks. Those are the things that make your photos yours, and not just generic couples photos. When they arrive to shoot on your wedding day, they have learned those things that make you unique as a couple and their photos reflect that uniqueness - from the first shot to the last. It is not hard to get comfortable around all of the La Vida photographers because they are so outgoing, friendly and fun! During the wedding, La Vida creations was extremely professional and prepared. They came to the wedding knowing all of the shots that we wanted (after we had done their homework e-mailed to us about a month prior) and all of the names of important family and friends. We had a crazy amount of pictures we wanted before the ceremony and I can't believe how efficiently we breezed through them all. Even the picture with three siblings, three in-laws, seven children under five years old, and parents went quickly. Best of all they made it fun! For the non-staged pictures, La Vida Creations mastered the art of being a fly on the wall and capturing true emotions. We honestly couldn't be happier with the quality (and quantity) of pictures delivered to us after the event. Additionally, La Vida works very efficiently to get your pictures post-processed and uploaded to a very professional (and password protected) website which allows you to download one, multiple or all of the pictures at once for your personal use. The accessibility of the pictures was very important to us, and La Vida Creations is great about letting you do whatever you wish with your photos - although they also have some amazing photo-book packages that are going to be great for a future anniversary! In short, going with La Vida Creations was the best decision we made for our wedding. Everything else - the food, the music, the venue - is temporary. The pictures La Vida took of our special day are timeless and we are going to cherish them forever. We are absolutely going to think of La Vida Creations when we need professional photographers for our future events, and we whole-heartedly recommend them for yours!

We didn't want those typical wedding shots that sometimes go more cheesy than cute; that is not Jeff & Betsy's style. They are great at getting candid shots, so much so that most of the people attending our wedding didn't even realize we had photographers there! We also did an engagement shoot with La Vida, something they highly recommended to get comfortable with taking professional, posed photos. It was during that shoot that we really got to know Jeff and Betsy, so that on our wedding day it was like having old friends around rather than vendors who you barely know. They consistently made us feel as if we were their only clients (which we weren’t) but it really gave us the sense that they were invested in us as a couple, and clients second. They captured the moments of our wedding beautifully. Their attention to detail is impeccable. They also interacted with our families and were nothing short of perfect. not us, and we also feared a photographer and a clicking camera would intrude on the intimate ceremony we wanted. But we could not have made a better choice than to ask Betsy and Jeff to memorialize our wedding day with their amazing work. Once they placed footprints in the sand for us and our officiant (the remarkable Bethel Nathan of Ceremonies by Bethel), they knew instinctively how to be inconspicuous during our very private ceremony and yet capture candid, natural images we'll always treasure. And then during our after-the-ceremony photos as the sun set, we quickly learned we would have loved to get to know them better. Betsy and Jeff have such a great bond and are so easy to connect with they just plain forced us to leave our camera-shy natures behind and have great fun with them on the beach. As a result, WOW, what beautiful and meaningful photos we received (not to mention a heart-stirring blog on the La Vida website that left us all teary-eyed back here in cold and snowy Indiana). Betsy and Jeff see themselves as storytellers, and with good reason. Because no words can ever adequately express the significance and emotions of our wedding, we are so fortunate to have our La Vida Creations images - images that truly do capture the moments and joy of that day more meaningfully than we could have ever anticipated. hotographs on their website make it clear that they are technically talented photographers and capable of creating serious glamour when that’s what a couple wants. But we didn’t want that. And they were actually happy when we told them we were a same sex couple well past the age of the average blushing brides and had curves and wrinkles and grit (that we had earned honestly and wanted in the photos!). We also knew we wanted an intimate beach wedding, and they coordinated with our wonderful wedding officiant (Ceremonies by Bethel) and videographer (Murasaki Media) to select the perfect La Jolla Shores“secret wedding place” as well as the ceremony start time to ensure perfect lighting.

Jeff and Betsy were more than we could have ever hoped for (and we knew they would be as soon as we met them!) In addition to being so talented, they are an absolutely delightful couple. You will want to hang out with them even after they put the cameras down. The entire process was incredibly smooth. They are organized, helpful, and have great suggestions to make everything as easy as possible. We didn't really want to do engagement photos but they are part of the package for a good reason. It really helped us be comfortable in front of the camera and get a good idea of how they work. When they showed up on the wedding day, we were all ready to go instead of taking the time to get to know each other and understand what we needed to do. Unlike most of our other wedding vendors, they were super nice and responsive even AFTER the event and AFTER they had been paid. They care about their clients and it shows. They drove up to our neighborhood to take engagement photos which allowed us to get to know them better, be comfortable in front of them and the camera, and they taught us flattering poses that we later used on the big day. They sent us a questionnaire to get to know us better and a form that helped us prepare for all the important family and group photos for the wedding. They were very open and receptive to our ideas and provided their expert opinions as well. After the wedding they prepared the wedding album and allowed us to review and edit it as many times as we wanted before finalizing. We absolutely love all of our photos and book. Communication was excellent. They always responded to our emails or calls timely. I definitely recommend this couple and we will always use them in the future to capture our special moments.
