I am writing this review wayyyy too late (over 2 years after my engagement photos were taken) and it has been eating me away inside because I need to give Betsy all the love and praise she deserves. Betsy photographed our engagement photos and would have done our wedding as well if she wasn’t already booked. As a wedding planner myself, I had worked with Betsy previously and she was always so fun, easy to work with and matched my energy on every level! She gets so excited when she knows she is ‘getting the shot’ that you can’t help but get excited too. I had a very specific vision for our engagement photos and she was 100% on board to make it happen. I love the photos so much and will treasure them forever as they document a very exciting time in our lives. I absolutely love working with Betsy and will definitely be booking her again in the future!

Betsy is the ultimate professional, everything from communication, planning, photo quality, and we couldn't be happier with our photos! Our wedding photos look like they are out of a magazine, truly beautiful photos that we can enjoy for a lifetime. Betsy also makes you feel so incredibly comfortable during the session. I never even felt like I was posing- just having so much fun! She also gave us all of the finished photos within a week or two, incredible turnaround time for such high volume of photos and great quality.

My husband and I have both separately known Betsy for years, so as soon as we had our wedding date, we asked her immediately to be our photographer! Betsy was the only choice in our eyes! <3 Betsy is incredibly warm + genuine and makes you feel fabulous and comfortable. She has such a nice energy to her. Everyone in our wedding party told us how lovely Betsy and her team were. I haven't been able to stop staring at our wedding photos since we got them back. I highly recommend Betsy! <3

There are no words to describe Betsy’s photography skills! She captured my husband, and I’s engagement photos in Malibu and wedding day photos at the Jonathan Club of Los Angeles. Both collections of photos turned out to be a dream! We felt so at ease with Betsy, and she captured our love for each other. Having Betsy shoot my wedding day was an absolute dream. When it is all said and done, your photos (and memories of course!) are really all you have, and the way she captures your day is unlike anyone else. She takes all of the stress off of you, and you never have to worry about whether she is getting all of the special moments. All you have to do is enjoy your day! It is really hard to put into words how amazing she is. Betsy makes you feel like you are the most beautiful bride she has ever seen, and like your wedding is somehow the best wedding she has ever been to! We had a very small wedding with our immediate families, and she truly made it feel like an extravagant affair. I knew the photos would be the best I’ve ever seen (they are!). What I didn’t expect was the light and joy in Betsy. If Betsy is not available to shoot your wedding you need to change your wedding date...she is that good. The photos of our daughter's December wedding are stunning. Betsy did such an amazing job of capturing the magic of the season you can practically hear Christmas carols in the background. Not only did Betsy get beautiful intimate shots of the bride and groom but her group photos, candids and closeups of the design elements were all excellent. Aside from being a consumate professional Betsy brings her own brand of infectious positive energy to an event which leaves everyone relaxed and smiling. I would hire Betsy again and again.

Betsy is a beyond talented photographer, total professional, complete ray of sunshine, and most wonderful person. I have worked with various photographers throughout my career and nobody stands out to me like Betsy. I was immediately drawn to Betsy when we first met several years ago. I admired her work and secretly hoped whenever I got married, she would be my photographer. It felt like fate when I got engaged and planned my wedding on a very tight timeline (it was several months out) that the one date Betsy had available was miraculously my wedding date! I was so overjoyed because I could not imagine anyone else there to capture the day. We had reached out to a few other photographers that friends recommended just in case and they did not compare -- from the style of their work, their portfolios, their tone and ways of working etc. it did not come close. Betsy is so passionate in the way that she speaks and exudes so much joy and love. It might sound silly to say but if you have calls with her versus any other vendor you will immediately understand what I am referencing. It is in the kindness in her voice and genuine excitement she feels for you as a couple that is so unique and special. At our wedding, Betsy (and her fantastic assistant) captured every moment with beauty. Our photos are stunning. And not only are the photos stunning, but behind the scenes of capturing these moments, Betsy made us all feel so confident and comfortable. She has such an eye and way of directing and styling each shot, while also capturing candid moments that are priceless. As I mentioned, we planned our wedding on a tight timeline and so Betsy was unavailable for our pre-wedding festivities — we used another recommended duo and they simply did not compare. The day of the wedding (and still to this day) family & guests kept exclaiming OMG WE LOVE BETSY! What comes easily to Betsy is such a gift! And I could truly not recommend working with Betsy more whole-heartedly <3

Betsy was absolutely incredible with shooting our wedding! When I first called her in the beginning of my planning process I could tell right away how professional she was. She even educated me on so many things I had not thought about before speaking with her! Betsy had an organized excel sheet ready to go for me to input the long shot list we had hoped to capture on our lengthy wedding day. We had her booked for 11 hours and from start to finish she was so positive and energetic, and made sure the bride and groom were always taken care of. She kept up with our crazy schedule and constantly provided words of encouragement. Betsy was truly a delight to work with that I would be lucky to work with again in the future. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to feel supported and also to get the most vibrant photos! When we got our preview photos back we were in awe of her stunning work and cannot wait to see the rest of the album when she is done editing!

Betsy is amazing. I found Betsy through Instagram and was immediately captured by her work and love of light. She stood out from thousands of other pictures and photographers' work. As soon as we had our first phone session, we knew that we wanted Betsy to capture every moment of our engagement and wedding. When we met her in person for our engagement shoot, we were blown away by her sweet and energetic character. She is truly one of a kind and makes you feel so special and comfortable in front of the camera. When we received the pictures (so timely) they were everything we dreamed of and more. After the engagement shoot, we knew we couldn't wait for her to capture our wedding weekend. Betsy set the tone for the entire wedding weekend starting with our rehearsal dinner/party. She made sure to show up early to the restaurant and capture every detail of the venue (scenery, favors, decor, etc.). She also spent time with just my husband and I getting very special portraits of the two of us ahead of the wedding the next day and even took some videos for me on my iPhone so I had content for Instagram (so thoughtful!) My entire family loved her and couldn't stop talking about her talent and sweet personality. For the wedding day, not only is Betsy incredibly talented and highly professional, but she is so responsive and easy to communicate with. We were given many opportunities to share and discuss what we wanted with Betsy ahead of time and she was really clear with times & schedules which made our preparation simple. Betsy made the whole experience so easy to enjoy. We had no worries on our day and were able to trust her with what we wanted captured. Not only did she do that but she went above and beyond our expectations.  She was so positive, upbeat, vocal and directive.   After receiving our sneak peak shots a couple days after the wedding we were absolutely stunned at how amazing every single photo was. Speechless. We're still looking back at our photos and are incredibly impressed with how every shot captures just how happy we were and our family was. Both Jimmy and I along with our families are so thankful to have had Betsy there on our wedding day. If you’re looking for a photographer who will capture those real moments on your day and be such a pleasure to work with, then I highly recommend Betsy to anyone.

We hired Betsy to take maternity photos and all I can say is WOW. She made me feel like a supermodel and encouraged me to just go for it. Being 8 months pregnant, you don’t feel your best and in those 2 hours, I felt amazing! We just got the photos back as well and I just cannot believe it. She captured everything exactly as I wanted and supported my vision. My husband is also thrilled with them and he even enjoyed the process (he normally complains when we take more than 2 photos). Betsy is all around incredible, her energy and her talent make her the most perfect photographer and you shouldn’t even hesitate or think twice about hiring her for a special occasion.

Betsy is truly the best of the best. Betsy captured our wedding weekend better than we ever could've imagined. We were lucky enough to have Betsy capture both our rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Not only is everyone obsessed with the photos Betsy took, but her energy and positivity added so much joy to our wedding. Looking back, my husband and I can't imagine having our wedding without Betsy by our side. Her energy, support, guidance and creative brilliance is unbeatable. Every single guest who was captured by Betsy immediately fell in love with her. The one thing my husband and I were most nervous about on our wedding day was the photos we would have to take - posing, as well as taking "candids," are not our greatest strength! From our first call with Betsy, those nerves instantly melted away. Betsy's kindness, compassion and care was the greatest comfort throughout our entire wedding planning journey, rehearsal dinner and wedding itself. When Betsy is around, you can't help but shine - and our stunning wedding photos prove it!! There is no one in the world I would rather have capture the special moments in mine and my husbands life. Betsy is the only person that could have captured our most special day. From beginning to end she made the experience kind, loving, full of light, and so wonderful. Betsy is a ROCKSTAR. She captured our entire engagement flawlessly. From the proposal, to the engagement pics, to the surprise party afterwards, Betsy absolutely crushed it! Betsy is BEYOND amazing. We just got our previews from the wedding (which she got out the day after our wedding), and I am absolutely blown away. They are crisp, bright, beautifully lit, and expertly done. To be honest, I had no doubt that the photos would turn out perfectly because of how she acts while shooting: She’s energetic, supportive, and personally invested. Working with Betsy is indescribable. I truly have no words for how incredible this woman is! She has a natural eye for the framing, lighting and location of each shot, but she also knows how to make you feel comfortable and beautiful on camera. She gave us great direction and made us feel like a million bucks while she took pictures of us. She had a very quick turnaround for getting us our photos back, and I cried when I saw the FIRST one. Betsy is the most amazing photographer I have ever worked with! She spent three days with us for our daughter’s destination wedding celebration and by the end of the first day knew most of our family members (there are 50 of us) by name and relation to the bride. We flew Betsy from LA to New York to be our wedding photographer -- that fact alone should speak to her skills! It is simply a joy having Betsy around. She fills every room with positivity, and immediately puts the subjects of her photography at ease. She managed to somehow be simultaneously a huge part of our wedding day, but also completely unobtrusive. Many of our guests remarked how wonderful she was at capturing the moment without diverting attention. My fiance and I are not especially comfortable in front of the camera, but Betsy made us feel like a million bucks and truly captured the love we share. Our engagement shoot and photos were better anything I could have ever imagined! Betsy is an incredibly talented photographer and she has an infectiously positive and radiant energy! My fiancé and I were quite nervous at first and Betsy made us feel completely at ease. Prior to our shoot, I had sent Betsy a Pinterest board and she arrived with my ideas and poses top of mind. After a few hours of shooting, Betsy was game to chase the light and we drove up to the top of the Malibu mountains to catch the sunset. The final results are incredible and I'm so happy we chose to work with Betsy!

We absolutely LOVE our engagement photos we just took with Betsy! Not only was she the best to work with during the shoot, every picture she captured was stunning. She knew the best place to shoot, the best outfits for the backdrop, and the best angles with the best lighting. We cannot say enough as to how talented Betsy is and how much she captured our personalities in each picture. She has such a positive attitude and is so passionate about her photography which all comes through in the quality of her work. These are pictures we feel so incredibly happy to frame and have in our home for our children, our grand-children and generations to come. Betsy was the absolute BEST to work with! My wife and I were supposed to get married in March (Thanks Covid) but ultimately did a backyard virtual/microwedding a few weeks ago. Some people say "If you don't notice the photographers, they are doing a good job." FALSE. You need a good HYPE person to capture the best moments and Betsy is exactly that. I am not photogenic at all, I like to think I have a face for radio. Betsy was able to make me look tolerable and captured my wife looking STUNNING. She was an absolute professional through everything and I loved working with her! I highly recommend her! Betsy also did our engagement photos on the beach/in the town in Seal Beach and was able to capture some amazing moments.

Betsy is a dream photographer!! I cannot say enough good things about her incredible talent and sparkling demeanor. She is truly outstanding. Betsy captured our little intimate backyard wedding during COVID, and exceeded every possible dream we had for our photos. My husband and I are absolutely obsessed with every photo that she captured. Betsy is beyond the words of talented and professional! She photographed my daughter's wedding in the midst of the pandemic - 25 of us in the backyard and you wouldn't have a clue it wasn't a huge event. The photos are absolutely incredible. Each and every one of them! Betsy captured every emotion, every moment, every everything!!!! She got our best sides, angles, combinations and more. There obviously aren’t enough words. Betsy was our photographer for our engagement shoot and we could not recommend her more highly. We weren't able to work with her for our wedding because of Covid-19, but I am so glad and grateful for the time she spent capturing our relationship on film (she was also extremely gracious and easy to work with through the rescheduling/cancelation process). Anyway back to the engagement shoot. My fiancé and I are not the sort of people who take a lot of pics, let alone romantic pics. We were stunned by how amazingly comfortable Betsy made us feel, and how we actually had fun at our shoot. And then there were the photos... she managed to capture the fun and joy of our relationship, and, of course, the love. It's so hard to make this stuff not cheesy but she did. I have no doubt she would have brought the same eye and energy to shooting our wedding. If you want photos that are bursting with life, and a photographer who will make you feel excited and comfortable just being you, go with Betsy.

Betsy did my college graduation photos and I've always known I wanted her to do our engagement photos when the time came. I think I messaged her a few days after we got engaged! Not only are her photos absolutely incredible but she is so fun and easy to work with. As most guys are, my fiancé is not the biggest fan of photos but ended up having so much fun with Betsy. She made us feel so comfortable and actually have fun with it. Five minutes in we felt totally comfortable. I'm super picky about photos but figured we would get a decent amount we liked. Betsy sent the photos edited so quickly and we almost cried because we loved ALL of them. She truly captured our relationship and who we are and we couldn't be happier. Cannot recommend her enough!!!

When we contacted Betsy to do our engagement photos, I could never even imagine just how beautiful the finished product would be. We LOVE Betsy! She is professional, and incredibly passionate about her work. We did an engagement shoot with her before our wedding and she spent 2 hours on a Sunday to get incredible sunset pictures of us. Betsy is a DREAM! From my very first connect with her, she answered all of my questions in detail, calmed my nerves, and was very honest and upfront about how everything works (pricing, second shooter, outdoor lighting, etc). On top of all of that, she is a genuinely kind soul. She made me feel like a star on our big day, and knew I had an attention for detail, so she was very good about helping catch the "fly away" hairs, unflattering angles, etc that she knew we would not want. Her positive affirmations while shooting kept me pumped, even after my face started to spasm from smiling and taking so many pictures! She kept everyone laughing all while keeping a strict focus and timeline. We received our sneak peak while on our honeymoon just a few days after the wedding, and it is definitely going to tide us over because the shots she shared are amazing. The pictures are so bright and happy, and I can see no difference between any shots from her and the 2nd photographer (who we are so glad we had because she was great and definitely helped us to enjoy more of our wedding because we were able to get so many more photos done at once!) I could go on forever about Betsy, and just how lucky we were to have her capture our big day. We will be forever grateful!

I contacted Betsy after seeing some of her wedding photos. What I initially liked was that they were so light, bright & cheery. I met with Betsy to go over some details and everything that was needed. She could not have been nicer! I had no idea really what to ask and Betsy explained everything so confidently, I knew she was the one! Every correspondence up until the wedding was amazing. Absolutely no complaints! Betsy answered all of my emails and had great suggestions when I didn't know what to do. My husband and I are not models nor do we really feel comfortable in front of a camera, but Betsy made everything feel so easy and natural. She brought a second shooter with her and the second shooter went to my husband's side to photograph him, groomsmen, family, etc. and Betsy stayed with me as we decided not to do a first look. They both were amazing and honestly were the best fit for each side. My husband loved his shooter and I, of course, loved Betsy. She was genuinely so happy to be there shooting my wedding and that just made me feel so good. I was unsure about a lot of wedding details and as things do go wrong on the wedding day, I was feeling like my wedding was matching my vision. Well, even if that was true, you would have no idea by looking at the photos Betsy took. She showed me some little 'details' shots she took while we were getting ready and the photos looked exactly as I wanted them to. Betsy was so positive and up beat, she made me feel so comfortable right away, I completely trusted her and let her do her thing. One thing my husband was worried about was that we would be able to tell a difference between what Betsy shot and what her second shooter shot and looking at the photos, there's no way to tell! They matched their exposure perfectly and they all look so amazing!! Betsy and her shooter ended up taking over 1600 photos! I was shocked when she said that! About a month after our wedding, Betsy sent over a sneak peek of 20-30 photos and honestly, it was the best day! I had been waiting so long to see them and they were absolutely perfect. Even my husband was shocked at how good they were and said he knew they were going to be good, but not that good. He was truly blown away by how amazing our photos look. Betsy did a great job editing all 1600 photos and sent all for us to see! The platform she sent them on is really easy to use, view, share and get prints. I thought I was a good photographer until Betsy shot my proposal. WOW!!! One thing you need to know about Betsy: she's very humble and doesn't even humble brag. So I'll brag for her. Who does the Emmys trust to shoot backstage? Betsy? Who do world class musicians bring on their tours to capture the magic? Betsy. Who do celebrities get to draw out their personalities and personal branding through still images? Betsy. What's most striking about Betsy's work is that she's not just an amazing photographer who understands angles, camera settings and lighting, she's an amazing artist and post-production editor. She'll get the perfect shot even if the real-world conditions were far from pristine or perfect. If I had to summarize Betsy's magic it's this: sometimes the world, background, lighting, etc. isn't as picture-perfect as the magic and happiness you feel living in the actual moment. But, in Betsy's photographs, each image — even the ones I felt would be "blah" while she was shooting—came out looking just as incredible and magical as the ones I thought would be my best shots while she was snapping away. There were no bad pics. This is perhaps Betsy's artistic genius. She makes the backgrounds more vibrant and beautiful without raising any suspicion that they've been retouched. I've seen engagement photos before where the retouching is obvious and makes the pictures look unreal—artificial. But Betsy's take on a silver screen effect, similar to how multi-million dollar movies get colorized by professionals who make the film subtly vibrant. You can't tell the image has been retouched, but it depicts the background so much better than any other image of the location you've ever seen. For comparison: one of my friends was at my proposal taking photos on her DSLR, I got her pictures immediately and color adjusted them myself with professional software. It was a painstaking process that consumed hours of my weekend. Ultimately, my DIY pics came out solid and I was very pleased with myself—but my images still paled in comparison to Betsy's pics. Despite my raving about colorization, don't lose sight of Betsy's equally compelling talents. Betsy's photos look like they belong in the Library of Congress because she understands the intricacies and foundations that are necessary during the shoot, before post-editing starts. Her photographs of your special moment will look like they belong in a museum. They'll make you feel emotions that photos of yourself have never made you feel before. My entire family, my fiancé's family, my fiancé, and I literally cried tears of joy as we went through them, multiple times! We were hot messes, both figuratively and literally. You will be too. Lastly, Betsy has a background in theater and attended one of the best colleges for theater, the University of Southern California. I bring this up only to say that Betsy's artistry and creativity run deep. Her vision is multi-layered and she gets things about framing and presentation that the typical professional photographer isn't tuned into. Betsy, you're a true Renaissance woman of contemporary times. A goddess who literally manipulates time and space. I promise you're going to hang the photos she takes on walls and they'll upstage every other pic around them...making you want her to shoot every special moment you have for as long as you live. #life-long-besty-fan-following. Betsy was such a pleasure to work with for our wedding. She shot both our wedding and rehearsal dinner and the photos look amazing. She has a really great sense of colors and lighting. She is so friendly and warm so she makes you warm up to the camera quickly. She was prompt on communication. Although it took a bit longer for her to deliver photos than the proposed timeline, it was worth the wait as they look beautiful!

Wow!!! I cannot speak highly enough about how incredibly detailed, confident, and professional Betsy is as a photographer. In September 2017, my husband and I had 50 of our closest friends and family join us in MYKONOS GREECE, for our wedding. Shortly after our engagement, we had Betsy shoot our engagement photos, and the session was so lovely. My husband HATES having his picture taken, but Betsy made the session so comfortable for us both. She is such a bright light, with such amazing positive energy, that the 2 hour shoot went by in a flash. We had such a great experience working with Betsy for our engagement photos! Oh my goodness, where do I begin?! I am not the type of girl who loves to be in front of the camera, so I was actually dreading having a camera in my face on my wedding day, but luckily my friend/day of coordinator recommended Betsy! Betsy went above and beyond our expectations for our engagement photos! My fiancé and I were adamant about having our photos done in California due to an upcoming move we were making to Texas. We really wanted to use these photos as a testament to our time in LA by utilizing as much nature in our backdrops as possible. Betsy is phenomenal. We can't recommend her enough. She was fun to work with, and pretty much every one of her photos is frame-worthy. Do yourself a favor and hire Betsy. My husband and I have had her shoot both our engagement photos and our wedding. And all of our friends and family have told us that both sessions are the best they have ever seen. She is spectacular with light. If you want your photos to glow and and exude romance and whimsy..... then she is your GAL! Betsy also shoots for music festivals and it is very apparent when you go through your photo session because you can expect the greatest candid photos of all of your guests.
