Joan is wonderful to work with. She did our backyard COVID ceremony and worked with us to make it special and intimate even though it was not the wedding we originally planned. We enjoyed working with her so much she is also doing our friends and family ceremony next year when we hopefully do our ‘big’ celebration.

Joan was so great! She is very detailed and helps guide you through getting married with ease. She gives you so many options to choose from when it comes to picking the flow of your ceremony. Joan was so great to work with from beginning to end. Not only was she flexible in meeting with us over the phone to start the process since we lived out of state, but she has so many options for you to choose from to really customize your ceremony to what you're looking for, and is open to any unique ideas you might have as well. She was also great at leading our rehearsal to make sure the day of went off without a hitch. We received so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the ceremony was, and that was really all thanks to Joan! Even in the middle of a pandemic, she rose to the occasion by always staying in close communication with us and still actually doing our ceremony, and for that we can't thank or recommend her enough!

Joan was so wonderful to work with! I loved the ability to puzzle piece our ceremony together to make it unique and meaningful to us. She was very helpful with answering and questions I had. She did a terrific job and would recommend her as an officiant!

When we first met Joan, we clicked instantly. We met her for lunch as she suggested we meet before we book her (she was the only officiant we talked with who suggested that). We spent over two hours talking with her and felt so comfortable with her. She didn’t pressure us into hiring her, but walking out of the restaurant, we knew she was the one to perform our marriage ceremony. Joan has so many ideas for ceremonies and how to personalize them. She helped us craft a beautiful ceremony that was fit for us. As we approached our wedding date, we had so many uncertainties regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, and Joan was so flexible and understanding. We ended up significantly downsizing our wedding this year, and are doing a large vow renewal and reception next year. Joan married us this year and has agreed to do a vow renewal for us next year with all of our guests in attendance. We are SO grateful we chose Joan, and we recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant. She will help your wedding turn out exactly how you want it to be. 2021 Update: We ended up not having our vow renewal as we had originally planned, but still are so grateful we chose Joan to officiate our ceremony. Talking to friends and family that were in attendance for our small ceremony, they thought Joan was a family friend because of how personal our ceremony was. Again, we HIGHLY recommend! :)

Joan created a beautiful ceremony for our wedding! After having to cancel our initial wedding due to COVID-19, we reached out to Joan and she happily agreed to be our officiant for our wedding. We had just about 2 weeks to re-plan our wedding and ceremony, Joan quickly met with us and created a wonderful, personal ceremony for our wedding. She listened to our story, what we wanted in a ceremony, and just ran with it! She also was super flexible the day of and didn't let some rain and thunderstorms impact what we wanted for our day. Joan was very helpful and approachable from our first meeting. She helped my husband and I craft our ceremony to fit us and had the flow so mapped out that we were able to run the rehearsal without her! (Our wedding was a Sunday and she was officiating another at the same time as our rehearsal). I never felt as though anything was unclear or an odd request. She came to see me before the ceremony to confirm I was comfortable with everything and really kept the flow going during the ceremony. She also offered lots of tips and tricks and ideas for us that were very helpful. I would recommend Joan to anyone. We loved working with her!

Joan was incredibly wonderful to work with! My husband and I had no clue where to even start when it came to planning our ceremony. Joan made that worry disappear. She sends an outline as well as readings and options for different things to do during your ceremony and helps you create your own custom ceremony. When it came to our rehearsal Joan went above and beyond what I had imagined she would do. She took lead and guided everyone through the whole ceremony and made sure every aspect of the ceremony was figured out and was perfect. I was expecting to have to lead the rehearsal myself. It was nice to have her there to make it worry free. Overall, I would 100% recommend Joan as an officiant.

Joan is so good!! Honestly I didn't even know where to find an officiant at first but all of our family was so impressed by her. She was so organized and prepared, and she looked beautiful and professional on our wedding day! We could not have asked for a better officiant… from meeting with us months before the wedding, to running the rehearsal, and finally performing the ceremony, she was so helpful every step of the way. We loved working with Joan! We had actually seen her officiate my best friend’s wedding in Madison and thought she did a great job so a few years later when we were looking for an officiant and found out she also does weddings in Green Bay, we were ecstatic! Our wedding ceremony was truly a dream come true and that is all thanks to Joan! She made our day feel so special and truly and unforgettable experience. Joan was a great help to us for our wedding. She spent the time in our first meeting to really get to know us and help us write our own Wedding from scratch. Any time we got stuck she was quick to respond and help guide us through our wedding. She went above and beyond what we were expecting. Joan helped make sure we went through everything in the rehearsal and was patient with any questions, especially from family members. She checked in with everyone from us, to all of the parents and vendors and contractors we had for the ceremony. She truly made our dream wedding come true!

Joan at Better Together Ceremonies was a lifesaver! Because most of our friends and family were married by a religious officiant, I was nervous about finding someone who could help us create and perform a secular ceremony since I didn't have any personal referrals. But after we found Joan and met with her at Planet Perk in Oshkosh one Saturday morning, we knew that she was the one! She is so passionate about what she does. Joan was so organized and helpful right from the get-go; we trusted her completely! Over the course of our planning process she kept in touch, offering dozens of ceremony outlines and readings to go from, making sure we were on track, and guiding us through the marriage license tasks. Once the day of the wedding was here she was so prepared! She had multiple copies of the ceremony and the readings, she checked-in to make sure our point-person had the marriage license and the rings. We could not have asked for a better officiant. Plus, he is really just a great guy too. Honestly, he should charge way more than he does. He is worth every penny and then some.

Neither my husband or I are religious, so we didn't immediately know who we would have officiate our wedding. Our planners introduced us to Joan, and we knew that we wanted her to officiate from our first conversation with her. She took the time to get to know us, and she sent us so many different ideas for ceremonies, vows, etc so we could customize a ceremony that was totally unique to us. She also makes a point to step out of the way during the kiss at the end of the ceremony, so your photographer can get a clear shot of the two of you. It's those little things that show how thoughtful she is and how she really knows what she's doing!

We couldn't have picked a better officiant. Joan really got to know us and helped us to personalize our ceremony to be very meaningful for us as a couple. Joan came to Riviera Maya to marry us in a sea-side wedding. It was absolutely perfect, and several of our guests said it was the most beautiful ceremony they'd ever heard. Joan gave us a litany of options to add on to our ceremony that made it personal for us, and different from any other wedding we'd been to. I'd say we'd use her again, but this is my last stop! :) May be a vow renewal! Would recommend Better Together Ceremonies to anyone planning a wedding!

Joan is an absolute pleasure to work with - the materials she provides you to help build your wedding ceremony are wonderful and she is more than willing to switch things up to make your ceremony unique to your relationship. Knowing Joan was there to keep both the rehearsal and wedding day running smoothly gave me so much peace of mind as a bride. It was in the mid 90s on our wedding day (who would have thought that in May!) but she was there to make sure we felt okay about the heat and had a game plan. I could not recommend working with her more, because of her and a few other important vendors - I actually got to enjoy the day and not stress!

Joan was the first and only officiant we met with. There was no need to look further! When we met the first time, she really got to know us and what we wanted from our ceremony. She brought with her a bible of great ideas from ceremonies she has done in the past. It was really nice to see her work beforehand! She had so many great ideas to create a unique ceremony. We really wanted to speak our own vows to each other, but hated the idea of "public speaking," so she offered an idea for us to just speak them to each other with no microphone. My fiance and I met with Joan about one year before our October 2016 wedding. We instantly hit it off with Joan and she was a delight to meet with. Joan discussed some of the ceremonies she had performed and she got more information from us on what type of ceremony we were looking for. Joan was quick at sending and responding to emails of any questions we had. She sent us all the information for us to create our perfect non-religious ceremony. Throughout the time leading up to the wedding, Joan would check-in with us to see how the wedding planning was going and if we had any questions leading up to our wedding day. The day of the wedding, Joan arrived at the venue 1 hour prior to the ceremony and checked in with us to go over the details of the ceremony and asked if we had any final questions before the ceremony started. The ceremony went very well and very smoothly. We couldn't have been more happier with our choice in having Joan as our officiant. Would highly recommend her.

We had a wonderful experience with Better Together Ceremonies. We were provided just enough guidance yet felt as though together, my husband and I had crafted the perfect ceremony to match our personalities and our lives together. We received so many compliments on how personalized the ceremony was... we got a lot of other compliments but I was surprised at how many people complimented specifically on the ceremony. Nicole did a great job of executing the ceremony just as it was designed.

Joan was great to work with from the first day we got in touch with her. My now husband and I live in the Milwaukee area and Joan lives about an hour and a half north. We sent her an email to set up a meeting and she coordinated a time for the following weekend where she was going to be in the area and would swing through our suburb to meet us for coffee- how convenient! After we met with her we decided that we both loved her and wanted her to be our officiant- she clearly loved her job, others were extremely complimentary of her and seemed to go above and beyond for her clients. Throughout the entire process she responded to emails timely and was constantly checking in with us to see if we needed anything and how wedding planning was going. Fast forward to wedding weekend. Joan had great recommendations for the ceremony and was great at keeping the wedding party on track and prepared for the big day. On the day of she checked in with me asking if I needed assistance with anything and took care of everything else- i.e. making sure everyone was in the correct spots, readers and godparents/grandparents had corsages and boutineers, etc. It was such a relief to be able to enjoy the weekend and have Joan there to make sure things were on track and executed correctly. Joan did a wonderful job- we thought our ceremony was absolutely beautiful and so did many of our guests who have since complimented us. Joan was such a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding officiant! Thanks again Joan!

Joan was absolutely amazing - 5 stars doesn't seem like enough! After our initial meeting in person with Joan, we knew right away she was going to be perfect for us.
