Do NOT book Beyond the Veil Wedding & Event Services (BTVWE). We got scammed and bamboozled by this company. In 2023, I started planning our destination wedding reception in Ashevi...
lle, NC. The planning process took around 18 months. I started my search for wedding coordinators in summer 2023 and expanded my search to Charlotte, NC. I found three possible vendors, with BTVWE being one. We had a virtual consulation with the owner of BTVWE, Latoia Ormond, and we ended up booking her and signing the contract.
The contract had a Force Majeure for acts of God, natural disasters, epidemic, or pandemic. In the event of an act of God, she would require payment only for the time actually spent planning the wedding. I had planning meetings with her and we met her in Asheville for a venue meeting as well. Unfortunately, due to hurricane Helene, there was damage to Asheville and surrounding communities, and we decided to cancel our event. We kept Latoia informed the entire time and updated her about our event cancellation. In the same email about the cancellation, I requested a refund of some amount. We had paid her out in full weeks before our event, and now I regret that. In her response to our email, she charged us for mileage when I had email documentation stating she would not charge for mileage but would request accommodations for her team the day of the event. Additionally she sent us the cancellation addendum that stated the amount we would be refunded. I signed it and sent it over to her in October 2024, and we have never seen that reimbursement from her. We have sent over 30 emails, texts, left voicemails to her following up on our refund. It’s been silence and now her company is listed as Temporarily Closed on Google. I could write a much longer review, but it infuriates me and frustrates me the way we have been treated. I write this review to state the facts and I hope to save others from having the same experience as us.
Working with Toia was AMAZING. I can't recommend her enough. We had some big mishaps with our wedding and she still handled everything flawlessly.
Toia was THE BOMB to work with! Cool under pressure, able to absorb and/or divert my anxiety into productive places, all with humor and fun. There were times where I think we were ...
hoping some more responsiveness from her at times, but I will say this with the caveat that 2022 had complications, this was primarily when we were pretty far out from our date, and I was fully given the opportunity to book unlimited remote/video consultations and I did not do it at times where I probably needed to, because I struggle with being a great self-advocate so that’s on me. Even with that, she picked it up as we got closer. Her best feature is being a terrific problem solver. Day of wedding, she sacrificed her own water bottle after I learned that distilled water is the preferred water for steaming dresses (something I meant to prepare for but forgot). She helped us figure out how to get our arch to actually stay upright. She ran out to FiveBelow to grab yoga mats for our wedding weekend when our vendor was slow on getting back to us on how many they had for our guests. She drove the 3 hour drive to meet us at the venue about 9 months before the wedding, and again a second time without us closer to wedding.
She truly captures the “beyond” of her company name. She absolutely was worth it, and my guests loved her too! I would not hesitate to work with her again.

e also provided guidance in selecting the photographer, DJ, bakers - wedding cake and dessert table, and florist. They were all GREAT selections. Because I live outside of the area, Latoia’s assistance was invaluable. She spent endless hours on zoom calls to include me in all decisions. The actual wedding day was perfect due to Latoia’s attention to detail. Everything went smoothly according to the timeline. LaToia is very detailed and she had every moment planned down to the minute. We started on time and the day was perfect!

just needed someone to make my dreams a reality and Beyond the Veil (LaToia and Kendall) exceeded my expectation. A bride can only dream to walk into her wedding day without a care in the world and thank to them, I DID! LaToia was my everything. She answered my questions at all hours of the night. She was there to keep me on schedule and most importantly she was there to listen. Without her I don't think our day would have been as beautiful and as stress free. I know most people say there is no such thing as perfection but our wedding day was the true embodiment of perfection thanks to LaToia and her team. I am so lucky to have meet her and so thankful to now call her a friend.
Beyond the veil will ensure your day is everything you had hoped for. They will put your day first. They will remain professional and most importantly they will show up for you! I know wedding planning can be tough and so many companies fall short of perfection but this one will not. Love you beyond the Veil and Thank you so much for all that you did for us.
Look no further! Toia and the beyond the veil team are the BEST! We recently got married and we were searching for a reception coordinator, and after interviewing several companies...
, we ultimately decided on Beyond the Veil! Toia and her team continuously go above and beyond before, during and after the ceremony and reception. So many guests and wedding party members commented on how wonderful she was. During the reception she made sure we always had a drink, food, and kept us on time so that we could get to partying! The team even repurposed all of the flowers from the church, and we didn't even think of it! The pew flowers, alter flowers and all! We had light up sticks for during the dancing timing, and instead of just handing them out with an arm full, her and her team repurposed the wicker baskets we used for koozies and handed them out that way! The presentation was such a nice touch and didn't go unnoticed. I feel like I could keep going on and on about how great Toia and her team are, but hopefully you get the idea! She will make your dreams come true.
Thanks Beyond the Veil team!!

yond the Veil took care of EVERYTHING. LaToia was super down to earth, kind, organized, and on top of all the small details. I seriously don't know what we would've done without her help. We highly recommend Beyond the Veil Wedding & Event Services. They're the BEST!
I would give more STARS if I could!!! When I started my planning process, I knew I wanted the assistance of a professional planner. (My father thought he could be my planner, but ...
I told my dad, he had ONE role and that was to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day! lol). I was referred to Beyond the Veil Wedding & Events, and they took my vision and made EVERYTHING a true reality!!! When I started planning, Covid-19 didn't exist, during the planning process however, well.....it hit us HARD...and then even HARDER as the months went on!! Planning a wedding outside Covid, I'm sure can be stressful, planning one during Covid...well, that was a beast and EXTREMELY stressful for me as a bride! LaToia and her team assisted with alleviating my stresses and EFFORTLESSLY helped to make sure my wedding day, (my original wedding day--with modifications due to Covid, of course) happen as we had planned! Beyond the Veil Wedding & Event Services is EXTREMELY organized and they will make sure to provide you professional service and recommendations to ensure your event will happen according to your desired plan and vision. One of my themes for my dating, engagement and wedding season was "in HIS timing"; not only was it in HIS timing that I met the man of my dreams, but also that I met the team of my dreams! That team is of course, the team behind Beyond the Veil Wedding & Event Services! I am continually extremely THANKFUL for HIS provision, guidance and timing because it is ALWAYS PERFECT and ON TIME! Do yourself a favor, choose the Beyond the Veil Wedding & Event Services team for your wedding or event, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

e weren't sure. She also handled our parents when there were disagreements about how something ought to be done. Monta is also a fantastic pianist! We hadn't picked out a musician for our ceremony, so when La Toia mentioned he was available, it gave us one less decision! Of course there was no pressure one way or the other, it just worked out well.
As far as the day of, everything went smoothly. When we had questions or concerns, La Toia was right there with us helping us through them. Our special day went perfectly with the help we got from Beyond the Veil!
Just an aside regarding planners, since I was sort of on the fence about whether or not I wanted to spend the money to have one. I have helped out at a wedding where a wedding planner wasn't used and it was CHAOS. People were calling the bride about every little detail while she was getting her hair and makeup done, and at one point somebody handed the groomsmen 7 boxes of flower and then just left with a "put these somewhere nice!" That was the point where I was extra sure we had made the right call in hiring a planner!
Working with Beyond the Veil Wedding & Event Services (BTVWE) was the best decision I could have made to ensure that my wedding planning process and wedding day all ran smoothly an...
d was everything I dreamed it would be. From the day I booked with BTVWE almost one year before my wedding, La'Toia was always available to answer any questions I had, to keep me on track with my planning timeline, and to offer suggestions for reputable vendors which helped me to narrow down a lot of my selections and save time in the planning process. Furthermore, La'Toia made herself available to attend vendor meetings on my behalf and video conference me into those meetings as I was living out of the country and planning the vast majority of the wedding from abroad. I was truly comforted in the fact that La'Toia was reliable and she understood my vision for my wedding day and as a result she did a phenomenal job completing a lot of the groundwork for me when I was not physically present in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lastly, I cannot express how grateful I am for the entire BTVWE team who worked efficiently on my wedding day to ensure that my wedding was executed just as planned and everything exceeded my expectations. I can honestly say that the BTVWE team made my wedding day and planning process as stress free as possible and working with them was truly a positive experience. Thank-you again to La'Toia and her team for making my wedding dreams come true!

On the day of our wedding they coordinated and worked with all our vendors to make our wedding stress free and fun for us, our bridal party, and our guests. lps guide you toward a super special wedding day while taking into account all the things that you want. She reminds you of things you never even thought of, but never pressures you to come up with a response on the spot. Every single one of the people in our wedding party, family, and even our Pastor made sure to tell us how great she is. She is efficient and great at what she does. I have a couple friends who hope to contact her when they get married, if possible! Her husband, Monta, is classically trained and was a great pianist for our ceremony. They are such a sweet family! Working with Beyond the Veil was a joy and took a lot of stress and chaos away from my husband and myself so that we could focus on our day. Our wedding was absolutely perfect thanks to La Toia and her team!

vember 2017. As an out of state bride living in Michigan and planning a wedding in North Carolina Toia was a life saver. She listened to my wants, ensured my needs were met and ALWAYS did it with professionalism and speed. I loved the fact that we communicated as often as I needed via various means that were convenient for me, i.e Skye, phone, text, email, etc. There were moments I literally texted Toia at 1am and she responded immediately! Toia and Monta are great people that sincerely enjoy making your special day amazing. They were fun to work with and made us feel like family. Our family and friends were very impressed with Toia and her team as well. We got a lot of great feedback on how seamless our day went. Being that Toia and Monta have great people skills our family and friends felt extremely comfortable and welcomed by both of them. At the end of our wedding planning journey we were sad to say goodbye. Beyond the Veil thanks so much for all your great work!!!
