Bialek's Music

We hired a DJ and a photobooth through Bialek’s Music for our wedding. Chris helped us set up everything. He was prompt and courteous. Our only hiccup came with the photobooth. Before the wedding, we designed printouts for our guestbook and organized the props, set up, and overall layout. The issue came up on the wedding day. We thought the photobooth was coming with our DJ, but it was actually a third party. Our DJ took the lead and addressed the problem quickly with Chris. The photobooth and operator arrived well before our reception, but there was a moment in which we were not sure due to a communication error. We chose DJ Mike for his style of blending genres and keeping the dancefloor full all night. Before the wedding, he found 30 minutes in a chaotic moment in his own life to meet with us and plan out the night briefly. He requested we develop a short playlist of must play songs, which he used as a basis for the entire night. The bride wanted to dance all night and DJ Mike made that happen. We highly recommend working with Bialek’s, particularly DJ Mike if you want a dance heavy party!

If you want to hear music you like during your wedding, run far away from Bialek's. The DJ we were given, DJ Justin Ross, didn't play any of the songs on our dance music playlist, including several "must play" songs that were important to us and our families. We spent hours putting together a dance playlist using the app the DJ required us to use and we had a few phone calls with DJ Justin where he confirmed he had our list and would play the requested songs. (Bialek's advertising also promises that their DJs will accommodate "100%" of the music requested.). Even though we only had about an hour and a half for dancing, DJ Justin only played songs that were not on our playlist. Towards the end of the night, he still hadn't played a couple songs that were most important to us, so we had to specially request them. For one of the songs, DJ Justin seemed to not even know the song and had to spend time searching for it, even though it was on our playlist that he had supposedly reviewed. After we finally got him to play the two requested songs, he went back to playing random music not on our playlist, and then never played the final song that we specifically requested to be the last song of the night. It was SUCH a bummer. Although DJ Justin did play the songs we requested from our dinner playlist, he also played a song from the *one* artist we had on our "do not play" list. Our playlist for dinner wasn't very long so of course he had to supplement it with his choices, but it was disappointing that he chose to play the single artist we asked him not to play. When we contacted Bialek's to explain that the service we paid for was not provided as promised, Robin (the general manager) refused to provide a partial refund or make things right. So now we have to consider other options for getting our money back. In hindsight, we would have had a better experience just playing our spotify playlist over the speakers instead of spending hundreds of dollars to hear music we didn't like.

We got to work with DJ Mark Dennis for our wedding and we really lucked out! He is a true professional and his experience showed. Everyone had a great time and even people I did not expect would dance, ended up on the dance floor! He listened to us when we outlined our favorite music and several people commented on the great playlist. A great DJ is a must for your wedding, and we really found that here!

We loved working with Bialek's and Austell (DJ A Sonic) for our wedding day. From our first conversation with him, we knew we would be in good hands. He kept our guests on the dance floor all night and was great about playing our many song requests. It was so fantastic to see our friends and family living it up and enjoying so many songs from across generations. Rest assured, you'll be in GREAT hands with DJ A Sonic and Bialek's! They're the best choice if you're in the DMV.

I recently worked with Bialek’s music studios for my wedding. I chose the company originally because it is female owned and operated, which I learned most DJ and music companies are not. Robin was easy to work with and discussed all of their plans with me offering a very wide variety of options that fit all budgets. I ended up going with an option that connected me with a DJ 3 months before the event and was very affordable. Closer to the wedding, I had some funds leftover and was able to add in Up-lighting which I think helped set the right mood and aid in getting the best photos. Our DJ, Jill, was wonderful. She sent me a list of questions ahead of time and did a great job with the timeline (announcing the bridal party, speeches, etc..), as well as creating a great vibe for the dance floor. I highly recommend this company!

DJ AAROCK / DJ A Sonic from Bialek's Music was Outstanding! Bialek's Music was the only DJ I found that actually provides you with audio/video of each of their DJs to actually select someone that matches your style and overall goal. Asked other DJs and literally was told nothing could be provided, just 'trust' them. Bialek's Music made the booking and payments easy. DJ AAROCK / DJ A Sonic was awesome. Quick call ahead of the wedding and he took in all my requests, beat matching/great transitions between songs, shortening songs (if the crowd isn't pleased), allowing requests, having a whole plan of the songs throughout the night, and more. Shared multiple Spotify playlists for each part of the evening, marked key songs requested by guests, sent edited songs, YouTube video songs, and everything was accommodated. Other DJs told me if it wasn't in their repository or purchasable, no-go...but DJ A Sonic accommodated for anything. THEN, he was so amazing that we literally had a non-stop dance party for hours. Guests never left the dance floor with the variety of songs old and new going. Can't tell you how many compliments he received and I have requests to share his info. People said 'best DJing at a wedding they had ever been to'. I can't thank DJ A Sonic enough for being so professional, talented, and really going with the flow of the wedding to make the night spectacular. Bialek's did both our ceremony music (a string duo) and our videography (ceremony livestream) and we could not have been happier. The individuals we worked with were both phenomenal, despite several last-minute changes to our day. Fred was the violinist who did a great job at selecting songs we wanted to hear and he was so incredibly communicative, approachable, and helpful. Chris Bruno was our videographer and he was amazing -- Chris knew exactly what he was doing and while the day itself is a bit of a blur, I knew I never had to worry about the livestream. About 48 hours before our wedding, we decided to add a Zoom to the start of our reception so my grandma could see our first dance and Chris SO willingly took on the additional work and killed it. I cannot imagine our day being as special as it was without Chris and Fred.

Working with Bialek’s was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Booking the N Street Quartet was as easy as could be, and our guests absolutely LOVED their beautiful music. Their song catalog is massive and you’re sure to find something to suit your tastes. Without a doubt, they added a timeless touch to our outdoor wedding. Cannot recommend them enough!

We contracted with Bialek's to hire a DJ for our wedding day. Robin and company were very professional in quoting prices and answering our questions. The DJ who was assigned to us, DJ AAROCK, was a blast to work with! He had a great sense of humor and understanding of the COVID situation that put us at ease. He visited our venue ahead of time to get a sense of the layout, and was very communicative even though we were pretty last minute in getting him our music preferences and specific song choices (e.g. first dance). My (at that time future) husband and I had created a DIY Zoom/virtual livestream setup and DJ AAROCK was very accommodating with running extension cords to our setup from his booth, and in helping set up the additional mics to ensure there would be no feedback between the two systems. We couldn't recommend DJ AAROCK and Bialek's enough! Thank you so much for making our wedding day go smoothly!

We contracted Bialek's music to provide a guitarist, Dominick, and a DJ, DJ AAROCK, for our wedding. Bialek's was extremely flexible and accommodating when we had to adjust our wedding because of the pandemic and worked with us to make sure we were still provided with a high quality experience. Dominick was receptive to learning and playing songs we requested for our ceremony and DJ AAROCK kept everyone on the dance floor all night long! We highly recommend Bialek's for all music-related needs!

We were extremely pleased with both our DJ, Jill Parsons, and our photobooth technician! Jill kept the crowd up and dancing all night long with a great mix of songs - even some fun ones for the kiddos who ate quickly and needed some dancing to keep them occupied! Adding the uplighting on to our package made SUCH a difference. The uplighting provided fun lighting throughout the ballroom to keep our party active all night long. Our photobooth was a huge hit! Looking through those photobooth pictures in our photo album/guest book is such fun! Thank you again for making our wedding day so special!

We hired Bialek after a very long search for a wedding DJ. All of our communication with Robin was very professional and she was quick to respond to our requests and needs. Unfortunately our experience with the DJ we selected through the company left room for improvement. We spoke with the DJ on the phone multiple times before our event and outlined what song selections and tone we desired and thought we were all on the same page. Unfortunately almost none of the songs we requested were played during our wedding reception. Additionally, the incorrect song played for our first dance and we had to wait to have our entrance until the correct song was played. If it was an issue of not having our selected music, we would have been more than happy to provide. Not sure where the communication breakdown happened in our lead up process. In the end, we still made the best of our event and all of our guests had a great time on the dance floor. We also contracted great uplighting and microphone equipment from Bialek for our ceremony which we had no issues with. Just knowing the level of detail we put into crafting our music and not having that followed is what was most disappointing. I would be inclined to use Bialek again, but would be more selective in reviewing which of their vendors we ultimately are matched with for our event.

The entire team at Bialek's Music was truly a pleasure to work with! They are very knowledgeable, professional and responsive. They made the music selection process for our wedding and reception a breeze. They offer comprehensive services and were also able to provide a photo booth at our reception. It was great to be able to handle all of these needs in one place. We were extremely pleased will all of the services that Bialek's Music provided for our wedding day including the photo booth, guitar/cello duo and DJ Alkimist!

Bialek's was very easy to coordinate and communicate with from the start, and was very responsive to our questions as we got to know the DJs. We ended up working with DJ Chris Walker who was beyond our expectations! He worked in our requested songs but did a great job of reading the room - everyone was on the dance floor! He also had a tasteful light set-up that provided a great mood for the dancing! We had a blast! Chris also did the sound for our ceremony nearby, which was really professionally executed.

We relied on Bialek's for all our wedding entertainment needs -- band, string quartet, and almost a DJ too -- and they were absolutely amazing to work with. Very open and direct about charges and fees and extremely responsive, which is so helpful when you're planning a wedding! They also facilitate hiring all of the best talent in the DC area - we loved Infusion and the String Along Quartet :)

Bialek's was exceptionally easy to work with for our big day. From the straightforward contract and pricing to excellent level of responsiveness, we felt we were in good hands from day one. We especially loved working with our immensely talented DJ, Grant Kuhnsman (aka DJ ARIA). He was very quick to respond to any questions/requests and took some basic parameters we provided to create an awesome dance floor experience for our guests; we've received numerous compliments on how good the music was! He also pays exceptional attention to detail, taking the time to ensure he has the right pronunciation for names and getting all the special songs for different parts of the night just right. Grant also worked well with our caterer and day-of coordinator to make various announcements to guests to facilitate transitions throughout the evening. We really could not have been happier with how everything went. It was great value for the exceptional service provided. We highly recommend Bialek's (and Grant!) to others looking for one less thing to worry about on their wedding day!

Bialeks Music and Aaron were amazing!! I have a fairly picky taste in music and my now husband and I wanted to see if we could play around with our first dance song by mashing up two covers with the original. Aaron was extremely patient with us and sent us multiple versions until we found the perfect one!!! Having a unique first dance song really made our day even more special than I could have imagined! Aaron played exactly what I wanted him to play and took requests that made our party the most fun it could be!! I am sure I was not the easiest person to deal with musically, but Aaron went above and beyond!! We are so glad we chose Bialeks Music and I would highly recommend them to anyone!!!

We booked with Bialek Music for both our wedding cocktail hour music and the reception and we couldn't have been happier with both groups! For the cocktail hour, we had a jazz trio that added a perfect touch to our venue and welcomed our guests to the night. For the reception, we had DJ Phil for our emcee and dj. Phil was AMAZING! From the moment he checked in with our wedding party to the music going all night long, he was a blast and made our evening so special. He also had a really happy and excited vibe that helped us relax our nerves a bit before we got started. A few weeks before the big day we sent Phil our music preferences and he totally nailed it! Phil from Bialeks Music was a fantastic DJ. He is extremely thorough and pays attention to all details. He played acoustic guitar for the ceremony and did a great job emceeing the reception. He read the room and played the songs that got people up dancing. A few of my guests said they tried to go sit but his music choices kept them dancing. Highly recommend!!

Brennan Sullivan was the DJ for our wedding and provided an exceptional service. After talking with several other DJs, Brennan hit all of the qualities we were looking for in a DJ. He is well organized, professional and very quick to respond to any of our questions. Brennan guided us through the planning process and explained how the timeline for the reception typically flows. Early on in our discussions we thought a friend would sing during the ceremony and Brennan was more than happy to accommodate the request. Brennan provided some sample play lists for us to choose from, which allowed him to get a feel as to what our musical tastes were rather than have us provide a specific playlist. We asked for additional playlists regarding the special dances and the ceremony when our friend wasn’t able to sing, which proved very helpful! We omitted some specific songs and added a few requests, which Brennan met spot on. He kept a low profile, while providing a key bits of information for the guests to ensure everything stayed on schedule. Brennan did a great job with keeping the energy high so almost everyone was on the dance floor. His equipment was good and the sound was never overpowering, especially since the venue had high ceilings. We would highly recommend Brennan any wedding reception or events where dancing is involved!

I am so incredibly happy I found Phil K. who recommended DJ Aaron Platt to DJ my wedding. As soon as I chatted with both of them I knew right away I made the best decision. He described exactly what I envisioned, and how the music should match the flow of the evening. At our second meeting he created the perfect timeline, and helped guide me through how the evening should unfold and progress. He delivered everything in the manner I desired, and his organization, professionalism, communication, and execution were outstanding. I felt confident in him and he played all the songs I wanted to hear down to the last two dances! He beat matched and kept the flow all night, and the sound quality was excellent. The speeches were very clear and so many of our guests remarked on how good the music was and how it was an unforgettable dance party! His high attention to detail, from making sure he pronounced everyone's names correctly to ensuring my happiness, will assure I recommend his service to others and hire him for any of my future events!!

We used Bialek's to find our ceremony music, band, uplighting, and DJ. The staff is very personable and you feel like you get the utmost attention. We highly recommend them as they have a wide variety of quality musicians. We had a few last minute details that needed ironing out due to weather the week of our wedding, and they were very helpful in accommodating our needs.

DJ Phil Kominsky from Bialek Music was just fabulous from start to finish! He worked with all of our vendors and wedding participants to execute on all of our ideas with no fuss and upbeat enthusiasm. Phil plays guitar and sings, as well as his skill as a DJ, so his ability to perform during our cocktail hour and for our procession was unique and so perfect for the moment. Guests have asked for the play list from our reception, and the dancing didn't stop once it kicked up after dinner. We highly recommend him!!

DJ Phil Kominski was amazing! He was able to play music at the ceremony and then move to the reception (at a separate location) and get everything set up on a tight timeline. He even coordinated with a musician family member to ensure they would be set to play a song at reception. All of his music choices were perfect throughout every part of the day and he is just a pleasure to work with in general. Highly recommend!

I'll be honest - we had a rough start with Bialek's. The DJ we were supposed to talk with missed our scheduled time. Twice. But we were able to have a good conversation with Robin and met with one other person - Andy. It was the best decision we made. Andy was extremely flexible and we used him and his band for the ceremony (acoustic guitar), cocktail hour (three piece band), and reception (DJ). He even played our first dance song live. I would recommend Andy for any wedding as either DJ or band. He will do a fantastic job.

We had an absolute blast with DJ Mike from Bialek's. He was super easy to work with, played all the music we requested and didn't play anything we didn't want to hear. Most importantly, he kept the dance floor full at all times (an empty dance floor being a fear of ours) and did a great job reading the crowd in order to do so. He brought separate set ups for our ceremony and reception and delivered on everything promised. We can't thank him enough for being a part of our special day!

We worked with Bialek's Music and DJ Phil for the sound during our ceremony as well as the DJ for the reception. We could not have been happier with both the final result and their work throughout the process. DJ Phil did an excellent job leading up to the wedding day in terms of communication, questions, and accommodating our own personal requests. He did an excellent job reading the crowd, playing a mix of music that everyone could dance to, and kept people dancing all night! As an added bonus to his exceptional A/V and DJ'ing skills, he is extremely nice and pleasant to work with. We highly recommend him for your wedding or any major event. We also rented a photobooth from Bialek’s. This was a hit with our guests and the attendant was a lot of fun. They even provided us with digital copies after the wedding for us to share in case our guests did not remember to grab their print outs that night.

I booked DJ Aria (Grant Kuhnsman) for the reception and Palm Strings Quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I also booked a photo booth with Bialek's. Let me start off by saying how wondering Palm Strings Quartet was. Every single guest was impressed with their playlist and song choices, especially when they played Disney and Game of Thrones songs. They were flawless! The photo booth was also a hit and the photo booth operators that helped out were fabulous! Now for the DJ. BEST DJ EVERRR! Seriously. DJ Aria made our wedding the party that we wanted it to be. People are still talking about how great he was! He played everything we wanted and more. He did live mixes which was amazing and kept people on the dance floor all night. He was easy to work with and let us pick and choose music to play and to not play, and helped us organize our reception outline. I cannot say enough good things about Bialek's music!

UNPROFESSIONAL! UNRELIABLE! Truly disappointed to hear how this company has lost hundreds of wedding photos that I personally was a part of with no regard for the couple, their memories, or the financial investment they made in a local small business. Unprofessional! I personally attended this wedding and took at least 6 or 7 different sets of photobooth pictures; which the guests as well as the bride and groom were repeatedly assured the bride and groom would receive copies of. They didn't even have the decency to call when they lost their photos. These memories CANNOT be recreated.

We hired the Palm Strings for our wedding and were so happy that we did! The group did a phenomenal job and we kept hearing great things from our guests who enjoyed their music at our cocktail hour! I only heard them play during our ceremony and it was so beautiful! They were so friendly and complimented our ceremony and wedding! Would highly recommend for your next event!

DJ Aria (Grant Kuhnsman) was phenomenal! He was professional and responsive, listening to our cares and concerns and answering our questions with honesty during the planning process. Grant put together a playlist that appealed to a range of guests and knew exactly what to play and when. The dancing music was a great mix of classics and throwbacks, keeping the dance floor packed, and the cocktail hour and dinner music was soft and romantic, setting the mood and allowing guest to actually hear each other. His focus is not on being a flashy entertainer, but on playing great music and setting the stage. We received countless positive comments about him and cannot thank him enough! Highly recommend!

Our wedding was this past weekend and we were lucky enough to book Bialek's Music company. Phil Kominski was our DJ. He is AWESOME! He was so attentive to our requests and is just a great guy. I highly recommend using this company, and if you need a DJ - ask for Phil!!

We worked with DJ Ricky Bulles through Bialek’s, and we’re thrilled with his work through the day. We had him play music for us for our ceremony, mic our officiant, dj the cocktail hour (although we’d selected an instrumental album to play straight through) , then dinner and the reception: requiring three set-ups in different rooms of our venue. He handled it all seamlessly and with great professionalism and fun. He had all of our guests out on the dance floor the entire night. So many of our friends have kept talking about how great the music was (and with only three or four requests from our end- we can’t take the credit!). He clearly read the room and settled into the preferences very well. As a bonus, he video’d a good amount of the dancing, and cut together a video for us, at no added cost. We didn’t want a videographer, and I didn’t expect to feel strongly about it either way: but he managed to catch some real gems, and I can’t stop watching it! We’re so glad to have this extra touch to remember the night.

We hired Bialek's for stringed instruments for our ceremony and cocktail hour music. We chose String Along and we couldn't have been happier. I wanted traditional wedding songs during the ceremony and anything they could adapt from classic rock (which they have a pretty large collection) during the cocktail hour. That was important to me and they nailed it. My guests loved them and they were worth every affordable penny. We would hire them again in a heartbeat and I would recommend them to anyone looking for strings for an event/wedding!

Aaron at Bialek's was the DJ for our wedding and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. He was professional, organized, and prepared; before the wedding, he scheduled a call with me to make sure we knew everything we needed to do, and he even visited the venue on his own to get familiar with it. During the event, he did a great job of feeling out the room and knew exactly what to play -- even with our multicultural audience. Thank you for making our wedding so special!

I hired Dj Rich from Bialek's Music and it was the best decision I've ever made. He has the best DJ voice, he called me prior to the meeting to go over everything. On the day of he made it a point to meet myself and my husband before the reception began. When there were a few changes to the timeline he just went along with it. He also added some fun activities for us to do after the cake cutting that I didn't even think of. People to this day are still telling me how amazing of a DJ he was.

We hired DJ Dan for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made! Dan provided us with cocktail hour and reception music as well as up-lighting. What was clear throughout the night is that Dan is an experienced pro. He made sure the reception flowed flawlessly and kept everyone (really!) dancing all night. My dad, who was initially disappointed that we weren't hiring a band, was extremely impressed and I think DJ Dan convinced him that DJs can be just as great as a band. Both Dan and Bialek's were extremely communicative and responsive throughout the process. If you're looking for an excellent DJ who keeps everyone dancing, I highly recommend DJ Dan!

We had a great experience working with DJ Dan Goldman from Bialek’s! He provided fantastic music for our wedding reception and so many of our guests commented on what a great DJ he was. He also provided uplightling which made the venue that much more beautiful. Dan was easy to work with and had a neat software that made the planning process for building the requested do/do not play lists easy.

We hired String Along duo through Bialek's for our ceremony and cocktail hour and they were great! The music was beautiful.

We hired DJ Quentin Fletcher from Bialek's for our wedding ceremony and reception, and he was absolutely perfect. We had spoken on the phone a couple of times but hadn't met until the wedding day on Sept. 2, 2017, in Washington, DC. Quentin was so fun and easy to work with. He helped coordinate the ceremony so everyone knew when to make their entrance. And when we started dancing after dinner, he was able to accommodate a few last-minute requests from me (the bride) without hesitation. I come from a big Indian family and Quentin accepted a pretty sizable list of Hindi songs to play during the cocktail hour and reception. He easily incorporated those songs on our list of Top 40 hits and kept people on the dance floor all night! Quentin is amazing and you can't go wrong in hiring him and Bialek's for your event.

We used Bialek's Music for our DJ booking for our July 2017 wedding on the recommendation of our caterer (Corcoran Caterers). WOW -- DJ Michael Cruz outdid himself for us. The dance floor was packed all night long. Michael read the crowd beautifully and adjusted the music to keep our guests entertained all night long. We had supplied a master list of music that we liked and he integrated that list with his expertise to keep guests of all ages dancing throughout the night. We also appreciated Michael for providing the music during our ceremony. He was wonderful, attentive and on cue. Michael was great to work with. We'd give him 6 stars if we could. His participation in our wedding is something we'll never forget and our guests are still buzzing with how good he was. Bravo, Michael!

The best decision we made was to have DJ Brennan Sullivan for our wedding at the Omni Shoreham! We had such an eclectic group for our wedding and were concerned about everyone joining in but Brennan truly made the party! He ensured the entire crowd was dancing all night and was a true professional to work with! Definitely the BEST call we made for our wedding!
