Big City Horns

My wife and I hired the Big City Horns for our wedding in September 2022 at The Atrium at Rich's in Buffalo, NY. Ben was our point of contact. He was very easy to work with and he was very helpful with setting up our overall music selection. We gave Ben an idea of some of the songs we liked and they did the rest. On the wedding day Ben did a good job DJing with all the various announcements and keeping people engaged. We chose to have the live keyboard and saxophone option during cocktail hour. This duet sounded great with an appropriate selection and volume to allow people to mingle. After dinner the whole band sounded awesome and they played all of our favorite songs from their song list. Ben and the band did a good job of keeping people on the dance floor. I was highly satisfied the the band overall and would recommend them to anyone.

From start to finish, Big City Horns amazingly exceeded our expectations! Ben's attention to detail and experience gave us the upmost confidence when deciding to book them for our wedding. He really takes the time to get to know you and understands the run-of-show perfectly. From the amazing jazz set during cocktail hour, to the introductions (Ben MC'd) and then the dance party at the end with the entire band - our guests still can't stop raving about it! Ben and Maria were absolutely outstanding on vocals and the brass/guitar/bass/drums absolutely rocked the house! If you want a party, go with these guys...you will NOT be disappointed! We can't thank them enough for their incredible performance and especially Ben for coordinating it all. He's the real deal!

Ben and the Big City Horns kept everyone on the dance floor at our wedding! Ben, the leader, was extremely professional. He coordinated meetings with me and my husband prior to the big day and came to our final walk through so he could get an idea of how to set up his band outdoors! The band provided lighting and Ben also acted as our MC for the night. He directed the guests between cocktail hr and dinner (separate rooms) and keeping the night flowing so we didn't lose any precious dancing time! The band made a beautiful set list based on our preferences and the ages of the guests. They learned a few songs for us and played them better than the recorded version!!! Everyone was asking me who they were at our wedding, and commented on how amazing they were. Ben also arranged for cocktail hr music with an amazing jazz quartet. Ben and his band is absolutely top notch. My lovely Wife convinced me to hire them to play at our wedding and it was the best decision we made. The dance floor was ON FIRE for hours and hours and not once was there ever a lull. My aunt actually made a comment about how versatile they are in terms of music and then realized she was listening to the DJ portion of the night. THAT is how good these guys are. If you have the chance to hire them for your event, just do it. I promise, you will not regret it.

AMAZING! I have never seen so many people on the dance floor for the ENTIRE night! It's all thanks to the band. Booking them was so easy and the consultation was quick and personalized. If you're wondering if a big band is worth it- I swear to you it is. the reception would not have been the same without them and I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you!!!

Big City Horns was the greatest wedding band I've ever seen and the dance floor was PACKED the entire time they played. They made our special day so magical and I wouldn't change a thing. Tip: have them play any song live that they can! They did our first dance and our parents dances live and they were as good or better than the originals! Ben is super responsive and knows the wedding timing down to the minute. Excellent DJ and singer! Do yourself a favor and hire them for your next event!!

If you’re looking for the most lively and talented band for your wedding - You’ve GOT to go with Big City Horns! I can’t even begin to explain how special they made our day. From the first dance to when they kicked us out of the venue at the end of the night - the dance floor was packed! There wasn’t a single lull the whole night. The amount of people that came up to me after the wedding and told me it was the most fun they’ve ever had at a reception and how AWESOME the band was… was too many to count! And performance and party aside, they made everything so easy and streamlined in the planning leading up to the wedding. Ben Baia honored all of our requests, and even made an original arrangement for our first dance! Hiring Big City Horns was the best decision I made for our reception, and I would do it over and over and over again if I had to go back in time! Just amazing.

Want a great dance band? Look no further. Huge song list and great sound! Ben really spent the time to get to know the couple, nail down the timeline and get a great song list together. The horns were terrific! Highly recommend! 10 out of 10!

What a PERFORMANCE by Big City Horns at our wedding! They were spectacular! I wish we could do it all over again. The band manager, Ben, was so accommodating and offered recommendations that were spot on to what we were looking for! Every member of the band was super engaging with the crowd - they even came off stage to sing and play the trumpets in the middle of the dance floor! I HIGHLY recommend Big City Horns for your wedding! One month later and people are still talking about the music! I can’t thank the band enough for helping to make our wedding day everything we wanted it to be!

BigCity Horns was a massive reason why we had an incredible wedding. It is more then music at our wedding, it is a performance that everyone loved and was involved in! I would highly suggest this band to anyone!

Big City Horns! What can I say ... they know how to throw a party! Lead singer and MC Ben Baia was extremely professional throughout the whole wedding planning process, especially when we had to change dates due to COVID. He was the perfect MC for the wedding and the band was absolutely fantastic the entire night! From start to finish, everyone was on the dance floor, thanks to Big City Horns! For the Father/Daughter dance, my dad wanted to surprise me with our song. So he coordinated with Ben, and the way it turned out was so cool. It was a mash-up of Isn't She Lovely by Steve Wonder and Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses. It was awesome!! We got our slow dance, which is every girl dreams of, but then we came out swinging with air guitars!! ... Another favorite part of the night was when the horns came out on the dance floor and played in the middle of our guests ! It was so much fun! Again, if you want your wedding guests on the dance floor from start to finish, Big City Horns is your band! Thank you Ben and Big City Horns!!!

The Big City Horns played at our daughter’s wedding at Pearl Street Grille in Buffalo. They were very entertaining and as they said “our job is to keep people on the dance floor” - and they did that from the first song. Their big sound and skilled male and female lead singers blended well. They have a formula of tunes from Sinatra, The Four Tops, Journey, Neil Diamond, Chicago, Meatloaf, and others that have natural dance appeal. I would recommend Big City Horns for your wedding. I was more than impressed with Big City Horns. Not only did they play fantastic music, but they were very professional and flexible. From the moment I first talked to Ben on the phone, I knew we were going to hire the group for my grandparents 50th anniversary celebration. We were too far away to meet in person, so Ben and I were in contact through phone calls and emails. He was on top of everything and we made a set plan for the celebration weeks in advanced. During the celebration, I had some last minute changes and the group was more than happy to rearrange. Not only was their professionalism on point, but the music they played was fantastic. They had songs for every age group there and each song was played perfectly. The whole group was so into the music and they helped keep everyone dancing all night. After the celebration, my family couldn't stop talking about how amazing the band was. I highly recommend this group for any occasion and we will be hiring them for every event in the future!

Big City Horns is an amazing band and a must have for any party or wedding! I cannot say enough positive things about the band and working with Ben. From start to finish Ben and the band worked to give us an experience at our wedding that we will remember forever! For context, we had Big City Horns at our wedding at the end of September 2020, during the pandemic. It was after dancing was banned at weddings in NY state and we wondered if we should even have a band without dancing. I am so happy we chose to move forward with Big City Horns! Even without dancing they kept our guests entertained the whole evening, the set list was amazing, and their energy level was through the roof! I can't tell you how many guests we had that told us this was the "best wedding band they had seen", and that "the band made a no dancing reception a lot of fun". Not only do they sound amazing, but they will bring a great energy whether there is dancing allowed or not. I cannot recommend Big City Horns enough, and would highly recommend anyone book them for your big day!

When my husband and I discussed which aspects of our wedding mattered most to us, it came down to photography and a band. We thought back on the best weddings we’ve attended and realized that each one had one thing in common: live music. After reading reviews and reaching out to Big City Horns, the decision to choose them to play at our wedding was a no-brainer. Ben contacted me the same day I sent my inquiry, and within a week, he had spoken to both my husband and I at length about what we wanted the music at our wedding to feel like. Over the following months, we came up with a comprehensive set list that would be suitable for every guest at our wedding. Ben checked in with us each month leading up to the wedding and offered excellent advice and suggestions when we needed them. Prior to the event, Ben coordinated with everyone involved in the reception, and the evening progressed flawlessly at his direction. The full band was fantastic, and the singing was superb. Unbeknownst to me, Ben even worked with my husband to surprise me with a song he wrote for the wedding. Big City Horns astounded me with their attention to detail and the care they took in making our wedding uniquely ours. Everyone danced throughout the reception, and I received so many compliments during and after the wedding that the band was many attendees’ favorite part of the experience. Although live music is an investment, we thought it was worth it, and we’re still very pleased that was the decision we made.

Big City Horns are a must hire if you want amazing live music at your Wedding! We couldn’t be happier with our experience hiring Big City Horns for our special day. Ben and Maria customized their set to incorporate music that fit our taste and catered to our guests. They knew all of the right questions to ask us to make sure they had a solid game plan from start to finish. We loved that the short break included a live DJ set. We believe we got amazing value for the price. Guests kept telling us that they enjoyed the show the band put on just as much as the music they played. Our dance floor was packed every single song. Big City Horns knows how to put on a show! We were so thrilled that we were able to work with them for our wedding. Their process was very tuned to what we (the bride and groom) wanted for our wedding. A few months prior to our wedding date, they asked us to put together a list of songs/music that we liked. They have a list of songs that they have played before on their website, so we used that and pulled in a few of our own that we would like to hear. We were able to establish what our tastes in music were which guided them to put together a set list that they would play. There was a few songs that we really liked that they hadn't played before - they were able to find arrangements of the songs and get familiar with them before our wedding! All of our guests could not stop raving about Big City Horns after the wedding (in fact they are still raving about how awesome they are!). They are absolutely one of the best if not the best band to book for weddings in upstate NY.

Big City Horns exceeded our expectations at our wedding on July 20th. From the very beginning Ben was very helpful. I was worried about the space because they had never had a big band in that room. Ben met me at the room to make sure it would work. Ben and I have phone conferences and he made sure that everything was exactly how I wanted it. The day of the wedding my MOH and Ben surprised me with a song that they worked on together, it is something I will never forget. The whole band is so talented and we received so many compliments. They kept the party going until midnight and we could’ve danced into the morning if possible! Thank you to Ben and the Big City Horns for making our night so special!

Big City Horns was amazing! I would highly recommend this band for anyone who is looking for a band to play at their wedding or event! I was in constant communication with Ben throughout the planning process and I honestly don’t have enough good things to say! He was always beyond friendly, quick to respond, knowledgeable and flexible. We told him our vision and timeline from the beginning and he did everything in his power to ensure it was portrayed how we wanted it. Without my knowledge, my groom even reached out to him to coordinate a special dance between him and his mother and Ben delivered an amazing mix up that made their mother/son dance one to remember! We had the piano/sax duo during cocktail hour and the full 9 piece band for the reception. They were amazingly organized and covered everything between lighting for the dance floor, announcements, dinner music and special dances. AMAZING! When it came to dancing time, the dance floor was immediately crowded and it stayed that way the whole night! Big City Horns definitely knows how to keep the party going all night long. Their playlist is a perfect combination of everything we wanted and they did a great job at interacting with the crowd! We received MANY compliments on Big City Horns… our wedding would not have been complete without them! Nothing but good things to say!

I first heard Ben and Big City Horns at a charity event, I was so impressed with the bands performance that when it was time for my son and daughter-in-laws wedding I immediately thought of Big City Horns. Ben was terrific all the way around, he is extremely professional and in constant communication. His suggestions for the timing of various parts of the reception and room layout were super helpful, the bands playlist is huge and they even made an extra effort to learn the special song that we wanted for our mother/son dance that was outside of their normal set list. The reception was in Pittsburgh, so it required a lot of coordination between Ben and the event planner, plus travel considerations for the band. Ben pulled it all off without a hitch, there was nothing that we had to worry about. Beyond all of the pre-performance plans that Ben handled so well, the bands performance made the whole reception unforgettable! Our guests had a phenomenal time and are still talking about the band months later - they are a terrific group of accomplished, professional, high energy people who engaged with everyone at the reception and delivered an allstar performance! I highly recommend Ben and Big City Horns for any event, they have the "it" factor!

Big City Horns are Unbelievable! We booked Big City Horns for our wedding, which was this past November at Hotel Lafayette. We had never seen them perform, and only booked based on their reviews, and our initial call with Ben. I can't express how happy I am that we took that chance, and how truly awesome Ben, Maria and The Big City Horns really are. They went above and beyond to make sure the entire evening was perfect for us and they played the perfect mix of music to keep our guests dancing all night. We received compliments for day's following the wedding, and one guest even left to book them for their daughters upcoming wedding! We had an unforgettable night celebrating and dancing with our friends and families and are grateful to Ben and Maria for making it such a memorable night- and for sharing such fun photos and videos that they took following our wedding!

AMAZING! Just can't put into words how great they were. Worth every penny, not only did they have a large repertoire, but they were willing to go above and beyond to learn a new song just for us. Ben and the rest of the band are amazing! 10/5 stars

The dancing NEVER stopped! If you want a live band, full of energy, and a lively and full dance floor.. Big City Horns is the way to go! They were great to work with, accommodated all of our requests and they even let my husband play a song with them, twice! They have such a diverse song/set list and will learn songs for you if you ask! They played oldies but goodies, and also popular music from today! They even sprinkled in a little bit of country! I am going to be honest, I was a little nervous when we hired a band for our wedding because I wanted everyone to dance and wasn’t sure if people would with a live band. But let me tell you, at one point I looked around our venue and not a single person was sitting at their table. EVERYONE, and when I say everyone, I mean even our grandparents and elderly adults, as well as the little 6 years olds, were out on the dance floor! It was FULL from the very first song to the very last! Or guests even tried to get them to keep playing after our reception officially ended! That’s how GREAT they were! I would highly recommend Big City Horns for your wedding if you want a fun, upbeat, happy, dancing all night long wedding reception! I thank Ben and the rest of the band for making our wedding the BEST DAY EVER!!

My husband I had Big City Horns play at our wedding this past October 20, 2018 at Salvatore’s Gardens!!! They were UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Ben, Maria, and the whole band were absolutely great! They had all of our guests up and dancing from the beginning to the end! Our guests still are raving about how great they were and how much fun our wedding was! They played so many great songs! They are true entertainers! We would HIGHLY recommend Big City Horns for any occasion especially a wedding! We loved them and hope to use them again soon for another occasion!!

Big City Horns was the PERFECT choice. Long story short, stop your search now and book these guys. This band and their coordinator, Ben, are flexible, coordinated, professional and friendly. Ben was always available and communicated amazingly well all the way up to the wedding day. Our venue was an hour away but they had no trouble getting there. Their repertoire is enormous and filled with great hits, both modern and classic. I was able to give them a list of our favorites and Maria and Ben made a fantastic set list built around it. Even our most special requests for special dances they were able to accommodate. They were so flexible that they were happy to let me play my saxophone with them, and I was even able to take a turn at the mic to serenade my new wife to our song! The space we had was a bit awkward and small but they were able to make it work without issue. Last minute we decided to move the announcements for the bridal party entrance outside and they did that no problem! This band went above and beyond for us and really made the day unforgettably amazing. Ben and Maria are amazing singers and the instrumentalists sound great. The horn section really gives your band a fun vibe and I loved having them. Ben and Maria were right in the crowd, singing along with our guests and having a great time with all of us. They were dressed professionally and hip and had all the equipment for a great performance, including great lights, powerful sound, and all the equipment for a big band. Everything went perfect that night, from the first dances, to the boquet toss, and conga lines and sing alongs, there was never a dull moment. They hardly even took more than a 20 minute break! I'm sure there is so much more that goes into putting on the amazing performance that they did, but it just serves as testament to the fact that I didn't have to worry about a thing and they took care of everything! From the song list, professional performance quality, flexibility with special requests, and attitude of the band, I can't recommend this band highly enough. They are worth every penny. Whenever the topic of our wedding comes up, people talk about how great our band was. Book early because this band is the one you want and I'd be surprised if their schedule wasn't already fully booked a year in advance.

Big City Horns played at our wedding on November 4th at the Statler and they were fabulous! Absolutely wonderful to work with...even learned our first dance song. I highly recommend to all brides looking for live entertainment. We were getting compliments all night and the next days after our wedding about the music.

Big City Horns performed at my daughters wedding on June 17th of this year. Ben, Maria and every band member were fantastic. They played everything from Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson. Everyone was dancing all night. The energy in the room was amazing. People from 20 to 90 were dancing together. Ben was so easy to work with on the coordination of the evening down to the cocktail hour music to the bridal party announcements and of course the party! My daughter and I have a special song "Peg" by Steely Dan. The band doesn't normally do Steely Dan tunes but learned and practiced that song to surprise me and my daughter. The crowd went crazy. I truly can not say enough about Big City Horns. They were definitely the highlight of the evening. If you can you should check them out. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Thanks guys!

Ben and Maria were an amazing team to work with! We had a few phone calls and an in person meeting to ensure that we were all on the same page. They are well organized and so sweet, I felt comfortable letting them know what I wanted, and more importantly what I didn't want played. Big City Horns was well worth the money, they did our introductions and assisted with the mic hand off's for the speeches. They kept the guests on the dance floor with great music that EVERYONE enjoyed. The entire band was so talented, people were blown away. Everyone's favorite part was that we started the live music with the Tarantella, which is a traditional Italian Wedding Dance. This got everyone onto the dance floor without an ounce of shyness. I couldn't have had more fun! I'd recommend them to any couple looking to book a band for their wedding. We had a large wedding of over 250 people, in the Golden Ballroom of the Statler and BCH really took our wedding to another level!

Looking back at our amazing wedding, I can honestly say Big City Horns was the highlight for me. They were AWESOME. They took our wedding from good to great - our guests couldn't stop talking about them and what a great party they created. I can't stress enough how talented and fun they were. Ben and Maria kill it on vocals, and the brass and band were on point. The mix of music was perfect and they kept the energy going all night. That night and the next day, we heard over and over again how much people LOVED them. "So fun!", "Where did you find them!?", "You could just feel the music!", "Way better than a DJ!". Our guests will certainly remember them for a long time. Beyond all that, one serious differentiator was their professionalism and communication. I think the first time I reached out, I heard back within 30 minutes and had a call that same night. In the months before the wedding, we connected regularly and Ben and Maria made sure that everything would be perfect on our big day. I can't recommend Big City Horns enough - they were a pleasure to work with, and brought down the house. Thank you Ben, Maria and the rest of the band. You rock!
