Big Cypress Weddings and Events

his past weekend here at Big Cypress, and please, do not ever book with this place for any event, if you value the memories you wish to create; because the owner of Big Cypress does not care whatsoever about you, your event, or your memories attached to your event. The wedding party was at Big Cypress for a few days before the wedding- setting up, organizing, etc. The day of the wedding, the party was even there and there were no issues. By the time the wedding was over, wedding guests and both parties are informed that the temperature in the hall is 86 degrees. 86 degrees. on a day that felt 100/100+ degrees. those days leading up to the big day, the AC was set at 73- beautiful and cool, so once again, no issues. Once the bride and groom started asking for updates, what the next steps should be, etc. They were unpleasantly and unprofessionally shown that their day did not matter, and the owner turned to verbal abuse and decided to blame the bride and groom for her negligence. Her employees were busting their butts trying to make the guests happy, but who is happy in an 86 degree room that was supposed to have cold AC? For 150 guests, a majority of the guests couldn't even eat due to being so miserable, and they left. Loved ones of the bride and groom tried their best to stick it out but ultimately couldn't. Picture spending your hard-earned money for the best day of your life, and your loved ones can't even enjoy the time promised to them and yourself. Ultimately because of this, the owner had the audacity to kick the bride and groom from their own reception despite having the building reserved until late that night. Imagine getting verbally accosted, shown complete lack of care, AND kicked out of your own reception. I hope that Big Cypress Weddings and Events never has a single event ever again. The owner had told the couple that she would be there to help make sure things ran smoothly, but instead, she is in Key West, most likely, having the time of her life while destroying the happiest time of someone else's life. The owner should not be a business owner, and should be wholeheartedly ashamed. I say again, if you value your special day, do yourself a massive favor and avoid Big Cypress. There are other locations that will treat you better than this place. its truly a shame.

s a wedding. The indoor space was nearly 90 degrees, and the owner refused to do anything about it, even after multiple guests voiced concerns. Everyone was sweating and visibly uncomfortable — including the bride and groom. Family had traveled from all over to be there, only to sit in miserable heat for hours. The DJ had no internet, which completely disrupted the reception. You would expect a venue to either have basic Wi-Fi access or at least help troubleshoot, but again, the owner offered no support or solutions. What made everything worse was how the situation was handled. Instead of showing care or accountability, the owner became combative and ultimately had the bride and groom trespassed from their own wedding. I was in shock. That is something I never thought I’d see — and it’s beyond unacceptable. This couple didn’t get the beautiful reception they deserved after all the planning, money, and love that went into this day. It was truly heartbreaking to witness. Please think twice before booking this venue. Big Cypress Weddings & Events completely failed them.

ding coordinator (Brittany) on numerous occasions and she was amazing. If I had questions about anything she was prompt with answers. She constantly kept in touch with me -making sure I was stress free. We arrived two days before the wedding and stayed in the beautiful and spacious bridal suite. It is located next to the venue. We had several members of the bridal party stay on the premise as well, and it added even more special memories for the wedding. There was a storm approaching on the day of the wedding and the venue team was ready for any changes we needed to make. . This meant a lot because literally 15 minutes before the wedding the rain stopped and the venue crew was outside in action “making sure the bride’s dream of an outside wedding came true.” Honestly, we were never stressed because the venue truly made the whole bridal party feel at ease. The outside views are stunning for pictures. Water fountains flowing in the ponds, bridges, and beautiful trees were a plus. After the wedding outside, the party continued inside with a beautiful relaxed feeling. The food, drinks and DJ were an added bonus. If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding in a cozy location ….this is your venue. Thank you Big Cypress Weddings for making my daughter’s wedding vision a memory that will definitely last forever.
