Big Day Productions is a boutique videography company operating out of Grass Valley in Northern California. Our focus is on capturing real moments from your wedding for future generations in a cinematic, documentary style of shooting and editing. The videography team is led by Bianca Smith, a seasoned filmmaker who's created hundreds of wedding films over the past seven years.
Our Approach:
- We work in a documentarian, fly-on-the-wall style of shooting. Like Nat Geo photographers, we like to capture our couples in their natural element. Really, we just want to let moments simply be what they are.
- Classically trained by film school and feature film work, we use the fundamentals of filmmaking to create short, story-driven films about love.
- Beauty is always a consideration. If it isn't your best shot, we aren't using it.
- We stand by the philosophy that over-staging moments will lead to a wedding film that won't feel authentic to who you are. We think of your wedding film as a polished, yet honest, behind-the-scenes look at the best day of your life.

Bianca Smith
Owner
Having grown up with a father who worked in the film industry, filmmaking was always a part of my life. But things really fell into place when I discovered wedding films. In 2012, I graduated from The Los Angeles Film School and soon after, I spent 4 years working on feature films sets. In 2015, I left the industry and started working professionally as Videographer. In 2018, I founded Big Day Production and since then, have shot about 70 weddings. This work is incredibly important to me and be to the documentarian of story is a true honor and responsibility.
