Big Event DJs

I was so disappointed with the service Big Event DJs provided for our wedding day. When we booked them, we believed they were a husband and wife pair, and we'd be getting the same people and setup for our wedding. Unfortunately, they did not update their bio that they are now a professional team of DJs. We got a different setup and DJ than what we expected. If the service was good, I would not mind that oversight. First hiccup happened before the ceremony; the wireless mic wasn't working. The audio during the wedding frequently had feedback issues. The jazz music played during dinner/reception was entirely too loud and bothered many guests, to the point they couldn't hear other people at their table. It was primarily the floor speakers that were annoying the guests, which was different than the setup pictures I saw. During speeches, the DJ played an obnoxious thunder sound after each speaker, which caught everyone off guard and even scared some guests. He did not execute the requests I made. He didn't start the exit song from the part I requested (the beat drop), he didn't stop the first dance song at the requested time (before the bridge, first two minutes only), and the DJ and MC seemed like they had no idea about the game we wanted to play before the dance floor opened. Because of the confusion for the first dance, we ended our first dance while the song continued playing, and he did not get the cue to stop the song. Even the wedding directors were signaling him to stop playing the song. We were just standing there awkwardly while he was trying to figure things out. Then, he didn't even say anything to transition, like "Give it up for the bride and groom!" We awkwardly retreated to our dinner table while our guests sat there in silence because they already applauded. Finally, during the reception entrance, he had to replay the opening song because he messed up the cues from the wedding directors. The MC was so unenthusiastic and seemed bored to be there. To add insult to injury, immediately after the last song, I overheard him asking a venue director where he could smoke. I gave this information to the lead, DJ Super, and he was very apologetic and refunded me half the amount. While I appreciate the gesture, it was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and we didn't get the service we were hoping for. When booking with this vendor, please make sure you know who the DJ you're getting is and what their setup will look like. It would help to look at their gigs and reviews, and if you're not hopeful, maybe try asking for another DJ on their team.
