They are completely transparent with pricing and expectations, and then went above and beyond to make our day unbelievable. Even the little things you don’t think of from parade permits to a microphone for the officiant, Abby was on it! All we had to do was explain that we were millennials, and the eight piece band took that and ran with a perfect set list! It was nothing short of magic! t. The response I got from Abby was prompt, detailed, and honest and made my wife and me want to hire her immediately. She said that she is the one that does the DJing but had been focusing on promoting the second line bands so hadn't had time to get anything up yet. If that's still the case, let me be the first to give Big Fun's DJ services a "10 out of 10 would absolutely recommend hiring" review! Communication during the hiring process was quick and once that was out of the way all we had to do was wait for our date to get closer. Then Abby sent us a questionnaire about the music we would like and other details she should know about and that was that! She provided a mic and amplification for our service, acted as our MC, and when it was time to start dancing she kept the floor packed the entire night. Once she finished the Big Fun second line band took over and our guests still haven't stopped talking about them! It was the highlight for so many people and the perfect way to end our perfect wedding. My wife has a lot of family in New Orleans but we don't live there so having Big Fun be such a big part of our day really made our wedding feel authentic and like a New Orleans wedding should. I don't have a single negative thing to say about working with them. If you're looking for a DJ, second line band, or both, you've got to go with them. They'll give you a reception you and your guests will never forget!

From the beautiful ceremony piano set, the non-stop energy they brought to our reception, and the funkiest second line I think New Orleans has ever had, we could not have asked for a better experience. nd Big Fun gave the experience of a lifetime. We worked with Abby from start to finish and she was great to work with. She handled all the permits, police escorts, and route for our 200 person second line!! They even showed up early before the second line began and played music for the guests as everyone prepared for the parade. All of my Texas guests LOVED the second line and said it is something they wish Texas did. Even all of the New Orleans people said the band was the best they've heard! Big Fun Brass Band was 10/10! I would book them for everything!

We went to our wedding ceremony, did the thing, then hopped on the bus to the reception venue. (Windsor Court Hotel in our case.) The band announced us and then went into our first dances. Then we went into the party, and it was incredible. They were LOUD and FUN and just everything we could possibly have wanted. They were incredible it reading the room and playing hit after hit after hit. They handled our on-the-fly requests with no issues whatsoever, and sight read a couple of oddball requests that we threw at them as if they had played them 100 times. I was absolutely cracking up when I asked them to play LSU fight song 'Neck,' and they (quite appropriately) told me 'yeah, we can do that but we have to hear this from your wife before we do.' When she ran up and said go for it, the room went absolutely electric. Everyone was out on the dance floor tearing it up, hands in the air, yelling along. They were fantastic. Probably my favorite thing was how they weren't just standing up there playing. They were dancing along and clearly just having a blast with it. They brought in all kinds of cool lighting and loud speakers for announcements and when they took their (well deserved) break. They weren't just a wedding band, they were part of the party in all aspects. Everyone was expecting three or four people playing music in the corner of the room, and when they walked in to ten musicians with brass instruments, keyboards, and a drumset, everyone was floored. They filled the entire venue with fantastic music, handled announcements very well, and were just so pleasant and professional to interact with the entire time. As we hit the end of the reception, everyone just wanted more. The band announced that it was time to go downstairs to the ground floor, and our coordinators and event staff helped usher everyone out. They played our last dance over the speakers for us as they quickly cleaned up and headed downstairs, and we met them down there to kick off the second line parade that they also hosted for us. The second line was phenomenal. They handled everything from route planning, to permitting, dealing with NOPD, taking care of payments, coordinating with hotel staff. All we had to do was walk downstairs and lead the band to Lucy's. Standing in the middle of the intersection of Tchoup and Poydras with red and blue lights flashing all around us, listening to something like eight brass instruments play was magical. When we arrived outside of Lucys, the band hung out for a bit and played in the street as we got everyone into the bar. All the people on the balcony were dancing and singing along as our wedding group made their way in. It was an incredible experience. BFBB’s familiarity with local culture and understanding of how to handle everything and work with our reception venue, coordinator, NOPD, were invaluable and definitely noticeable. They exceeded our expectations in every possible way and most certainly proved their name over and over throughout the night. I had them play 30 minutes before the parade, which helped guests get into a festive mood to dance down the streets of the French Quarter. The band's high energy and dynamic performance was sensational. Everyone loved the experience and it was a a dream come true to do a second line in New Orleans. ho were super responsive, and hired their Signature Package for our wedding of 140 people which included an 8-piece band with the 2nd trumpet and 2nd trombone and a Grand Marshall. They worked with NOLA police to get all of the permits/paperwork/escorts approved in time. Even with delays in permit approvals due to COVID we always felt taken care of. Our guests have not stopped raving about the Second Line (we are from Chicago so most hadn't even heard of a Second Line before) and the Grand Marshall and musicians made it the best part of our wedding day!
