Big R Orchards - Wedding and Event Venue is a beautiful unique venue located on top of Brushy Mountain in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Wilkesboro, NC between Boone and Winston Salem. Enjoy the beauty and romance of a family owned farm - working apple & peach orchard with a 6 acre lake and a golf green peninsula with amazing mountain views. The pavilion was designed and hand-crafted by friends and neighbors and is sided and trimmed with exotic wood from New Zealand. The bridal suite is spacious and elegant with over 1000 square feet of space. The bride's suite has a private bathroom and hair and makeup stations. There is a full commercial caterer's kitchen with separate entrance, public bathrooms, and grooms suite. All of the rooms have heating and air conditioning (2400 square feet total). The open but covered grand hall is almost 6000 square feet with 2 huge chandeliers, Edison string lights, post lights, and a huge rock fireplace. There are also motorized curtains on the west side that can be closed or opened with a touch of a button. The dance floor is spacious and magical, covered with Edison string fairy lights and open to the sky. The venue/orchard is available for bridal pictures on the grounds by appointment. There are 200 pewter chiavari chairs with ivory cushions, 200 white folding resin chairs, 30 60" round tables (seats 8 ), 6 8' rectangular tables, 1 6' rectangular table, and 10 30" round cocktail tables. The daily rental cost of the tables & chairs provided is in excess of $3000 per day if rented separately through a rental company. And, at most rental companies, pewter chiavari chairs aren't even an option and they are gorgeous! We also have a few other decorations such as a wooden arch, vintage wooden bushel apple crates, vintage apple grading tables, 12 wine barrels (6 are used as trash cans), antique white ceremony doors, and tiki torches - no extra charge if you'd like to use any of that on your special day. Also included, shuttle services for elderly & special needs guests during the event to and from the pavilion to the green. Please message us to set-up a day and time to tour this truly special place! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this venue! We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception here. Scott, the owner was absolutely amazing at communicating and helping us through our entire wedding planning process. He was there the entire ceremony and reception to help guide us, answer questions, and make sure bathrooms stayed stocked. He was so kind to our parents, guests, and vendors. The venue is so beautiful! The bridal suite is HUGE which helped a lot with all our wedding party. Scott has extra decor and kitchen items that we were welcome to use (which helped a lot!) Big R is an amazing venue, with an even more amazing owner! You will not be disappointed choosing this venue!

Beautiful venue & exceptional experience with the owner, Scott. 10/10 would recommend! Scott even recommended a great catering service & coordinator to make our day perfect! He provided rides for our guests to the ceremony & for us (to complete our wedding photography at sunset). Our wedding was every thing we dreamed of and more at this venue!

My daughter's wedding was at Big R Orchards this month. The property is beautiful and an amazing venue for an outdoor wedding. Scott is an amazing host and owner of the property. He was always available when we needed him prior to and during the wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better place for the ceremony. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend his place for your special day.

We had our daughter's fall wedding here and this is absolutely the perfect venue. The owners are excellent to work with and they are very compassionate about making your day run smoothly, as well as addressing every detail. The venue is in a gorgeous location and the mountain views and surroundings are breathtaking. The barn is simply magical at sunset with its beautiful lights, fireplace and high ceiling beams. Our daughter and now son-in-law fell in love with the place the first time they saw it, and we did too! If you are looking for a venue for an outdoor wedding, this is it!

My son's wedding was at Big R Orchards this past weekend. The best venue and beautiful location. Scott the owner is the best host you could ever ask for, they think of everything to help make sure the special occasion goes on without any problems. I highly recommend this event from the beautiful location, and the view of the countryside from the winding roads to get there.

What can we say about Scott and Big R Orchards? This man is absolutely passionate about his venue, and he stewards it so well. My wife and I had our 110 person wedding here in July and could not have been happier with the venue and the service we received. The property itself is beautiful both down by the lake/pond and up in the pavilion (calling it a barn doesn’t quite fit). There was sufficient parking, Wi-Fi for our DJ, plenty of tables and chairs, and Scott had other decor available for our use—Scott didn’t charge for the use of any of it (unlike some other venues we toured). If he had it available, it was ours to use. It ended up raining for our wedding, but it was still beautiful under the pavilion. Most of our guests stayed in Winston-Salem, which was just short enough of a drive, or found AirBnBs in the surrounding mountains. The real star of the show is Scott—the owner—himself. He was super communicative and made himself available in the months leading up (we visited the property probably 4 times during our planning) and on the day of to make sure nothing went wrong. I cannot recommend Scott and Big R Orchards enough.

We fell in love with this venue when we went to tour it, but what really sold us was the owner, Scott. He is so responsive and involved, making sure your day runs as smoothly as possible! The venue holds a lot of people and it’s so open, so it’s ideal for small and large weddings. The scenery is beautiful, the bridal suite is massive, and the kitchen is big (good for caterers)! Highly highly recommend to anyone! We had many many guests compliment the venue.

Big R Orchards is absolutely beautiful! Scott, the owner has done a fabulous job building ,preparing, and creating this special place for your special day! The leaves in the fall time is breathtaking. Scott took time to help the bride and groom navigate through all the details to make sure everything comes together to make a beautiful day! Big R Orchards is the perfect venue. Every photo you take there is perfect because it is just a gorgeous property. You can tell Scott poured his heart and soul into every detail of this place. From the structure itself with the fairy lights around all the poles to the bridal suite with plenty of seating and mirrors, Scott thought of everything! Scott's whole goal was to make sure I had a perfect day. He answered all my silly questions without hesitation and was just a genuinely good soul. He knows all the best spots on the property and will bring you to all of them for your incredible photos. Scott is Big R Orchards so know you've got the best venue with a guy like him calling the shots. You won't regret choosing Big R Orchards for any event! Highly recommend!!

All I can say is BOOK this venue...send them your money don’t even think twice about it, you won’t regret it!!!! I can’t praise Scott, Angie and their family enough!!!! They made my wedding day truly magical....so magical I still feel like I’m living in a fairytale!! Scott went out of his way to make everything perfect and run seamlessly. Everyone should book this venue...and make sure to invite us, we can’t wait to go back!!!!! You truly will not find a better venue! Just a few examples of how Scott goes above and beyond: I have wedding day pictures that range from the lake and floating dock to the orchard with apple and peach trees, he even took us to a corn field (where else could you get all of that in one venue) He met with me on multiple occasions to let me walk around and look even though it wasn’t included in our contract He let me take a second round of bridal portraits literally a week before my wedding and was happy to be there to help (even taught us how to fluff the dress he’s an expert) I could go on forever but I’ll end exactly how I started......just give him your money you won’t regret it!!!

I cannot express enough that pictures just do not do this venue justice, it is absolutely STUNNING! The owner, Scott is absolutely phenomenal to work with and makes sure things are set up exactly the way you want them for your big day. He was there for me no questions asked, ready to help from the day I toured the venue until we were packing up after the wedding. He truly is one of the most caring, helpful people I’ve ever met! He made suggestions I never would have thought of but they worked out perfectly. The bridal and groom suites are very spacious, the large kitchen is perfect for food prep and storage, the fireplace is absolutely gorgeous and the views are breathtaking! Scott and his family really put a lot of time, thought and detail into making this venue unique and beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend getting married or having your next event here!

We chose Big R Orchards for our wedding and definitely didn’t regret it. Great location, beautiful property, welcoming environment, and great ownership. With this venue we were able to have everything in one place and yet have multiple backdrops/settings that still went together well. Great for photography, and DJ services as well, not to mention great kitchen for catering, and an amazing all around event building. Big R Orchards not only made our experience convenient with how flexible they’re willing to be, but show how truly willing they are to go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. We highly recommend Big R Orchards!

Big R is perfect for not only weddings, but other gatherings as well. I recently had my baby shower there and it could not have been a more perfect location. Scott and Angie are a dream to work with and the location is stunning! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a wedding or event venue!

I could not praise this venue enough!! Scott Robinson was absolutely incredible and went above and beyond to help us have the wedding of our dreams! He and his team were so kind and attentive to our vision and did whatever they could to make our wedding day exactly what we wanted. Everything about the venue is just absolutely breathtaking. SO many of our guests commented on how beautiful and dreamy the venue was throughout the entire night and even 4 months later. From the waterfront ceremony site to the beautiful rustic barn, there are not enough words to describe just how perfect everything is. Both the bride and groom suites were so beautifully detailed and decorated and made for a perfect spot for our wedding party and family to get ready and store everything we needed. If you are thinking of getting married here - DO IT!! You will definitely not regret it!
