Bijou Bridal & Special Occasion

First off, I LOVED my dress! It was absolutely stunning and I received compliments on it from everyone! However, the experience at this particular store was not good to say the least. My first time there was enjoyable - they were very helpful, took their time, made me feel special, everything was good. I picked the dress 8 months out and they said it normally takes 6 months to get it in. So I wait. And wait. And wait. I call 3 times and they kept telling me it still hadn't arrived and they would be sure to call me. But we're about 5 weeks before the wedding so I'm starting to worry. Finally it comes in, and I do my first fitting. They tell me the alterations will get started and then I'll have another fitting in a week or 2. I didn't hear from them for 2 weeks, so I call. They ask me if I can pick up my dress that day because they lost their leasing space and all the dresses were going to be shipped to Miami THAT NIGHT. I'm 2 hours away from the store and at work, so no, I couldn't just swing by and pick it up. I sent my mom and she said she walked in and the whole store was cleaned out and the dresses were being put into a Penske truck in the back. Luckily she was able to get my dress, but the alterations hadn't even been started. And if I hadn't called, my dress would have been shipped to Miami without me even knowing 2 weeks before my wedding with no alterations. I was FLOORED! They also told me all alterations were included in the $300 alteration fee, and we found out that it only covered the basics - basically a bustle and minor alterations. The dress was beautiful, but the service was poor - especially the communication. I've heard other stores are better with services, but just give yourself PLENTY of time so you don't feel rushed at the end if things don't go smoothly.

I was the MOH for my best friend Jess, and we had set up a couple appointments in Orlando to find a dress for her May 2015 wedding. We walked into Bijou Bridal and noticed how beautiful it was right away, however the woman who greeted us looked like she just rolled out of bed, she was even wearing yoga pants! She said her name was Evonne, and she proceeded to show us around the store. She never once asked what Jess's budget was, which was okay because the entire store was under her budget to begin with, however it is a very important piece of info to have when looking for a dress. Evonne was hard to understand and she didn't speak English very well. She also had the nerve to ask Jess if she was a size 18 normally, and proceeded to explain they did not carry plus size gowns. (Jess is a naturally curvy size 12 woman, no where near plus size dresses.) Jess tried on a few gowns, I could tell she was so frustrated with her sales person, but being the sweet person she is she allowed this woman to put her in dresses that didn't even match the description of the ideas she had in her head. After about 4 dresses we left, we went to Solutions and The Collection (Where we found the PERFECT gown, laughed and smiled with our consultant, and celebrated with champagne!!!!) and had a significantly better time with great customer service at both places, and sales women who actually knew what they were talking about. I wouldn't send anyone here! Such a waste of time.
