DJ Bill Calhoun was super amazing! Not only that he has a great voice, he would accommodate all of our requests. He’s super easy to talk to and very generous! He went out of his way to find songs for me and did a great job playing the music throughout the night. He has many years of experience working at wedding so that he was able to help me planning the timeline as well !!! I was so lucky to have him to work for us on our special day !!!

Bill isTHE MAN! He was was so amazing to work with and was a huge part in making our day as fun as it was. He was so great prior to the day, getting every detail just right and even helping us by putting our vision together into the most amazing grand entrance! He really played to the crowd and was an incredible and fun MC for the evening! We are a bit biased, but truly our wedding was the most fun either of us has ever had at a wedding, thanks to Bill!

We asked Bill to DJ our Feb 2020 wedding and so glad we did! From start to finish, Bill was incredibly professional. His years of experience in the wedding industry was obvious from our first interactions with him. He went above and beyond and even helped us figure out our ceremony space set up (relevant to where he'd be). He creates clear guidelines for when and how to communicate ceremony, cocktail, and reception music in a user friendly and organized manner. He played everything from our "required" list and navigated the evening well. We are grateful to Bill for being an awesome vendor!

Bill was AMAZING. We were so lucky to find him. He was super helpful in explaining the process and what we needed to do. I had made a pretty extensive list of requests and he did such a great job playing them where appropriate! Also, he worked with a friend that we had play some live music for our ceremony to figure out how he could plug into Bill's system, how they would hand off the music, etc. - everything went seamlessly and it was so special for us. I really felt like he cared about us and our event. Plus, so affordable! Thank you Bill for everything! Also - for what it's worth we found out that many other friends have used Bill for multiple events and loved him too!

Bill did such a great job at our wedding. He really paid attention the the guests, and chose songs based off of how they were feeling! He kept the party going for sure. Highly recommend!

Bill is AWESOme!! He was so sweet in setting everything up for our big day, had a great online website tool to help us organize everything and was affordable and great the night of! Its hard to book a DJ without truly knowing how the night will flow but he was great with getting people out on the dance floor, had an amazing sound system for the ceremony so every part of the vows and readings were heard by all. DJ Dave Smith was AMAZING!! With our special songs and his taste in using music to get people to dance it was perfect! The dance floor was never empty and guests raved about him all night. Both Dave and Bill were friendly and very helpful. Dave even met us in person prior to signing our contract so that we felt comfortable with him and his setup at the venue. I would highly recommend them for your wedding!

Bill kept the wedding day on track and could go with the flow. He knows how to read a crowd and get guests dancing. He knows how to organize the final day of timeline and cut music at the right moments.

We had Dave as our DJ for our big day. The planning tool leading up to the wedding was easy to use, and helped keep us organized. They were even able to accommodate a special request. Dave did an amazing job the day of and everything was so smooth. We had multiple people comment on the music and how great it was. Would use them again for sure!

Bill was THE BEST! The wedding was flawless and Bill was beyond easy to work with. He was cooperative, tentative and extremely easy to work with. He took all our song suggestions and also guided me in the planning process! He was kind but honest when I was bouncing my ideas off him, and the day could not have gone any more perfectly. The dance floor was always full and when we had to change things quickly, he was flexible and kind! Bill did a fantastic job for our 100-person April 28th Leo Carrillo Ranch wedding. Initially we had thought we wouldn't need a DJ, and would just run a pre-made playlist through some speakers. A few months before the wedding, however, we reconsidered and decided it would be good to have a professional to be able to read the crowd and keep things moving along. I am so glad we ended up going with Bill. Booking was a snap, we met for a conversation at a local restaurant and discussed what we were looking for and what sort of setup Bill thought would work best. He is an approved vendor for Leo Carrillo, and from the moment he sat down it was clear that he knew the ins and outs of the space. It took a lot of stress off of us knowing that there would be no snafus of not knowing where power outlets are or not having the correct setup for the venue. My favorite part of working with Bill was how eager he was to take our musical tastes/song picks into consideration. Since we had started building a playlist before we decided to have a DJ, we were able to give him a list of songs that fit our tastes. Bill did a great job of turning the list we gave him into a playlist that flowed perfectly into the background of the event, while still keeping our unique tastes in song choice. Especially during the ceremony, he was very much on his game as far as fading smoothly from one song to the next for entrances and set moments. The only glitch of the night came when a circuit breaker that the sound system was on tripped while our coordinators were on their break. Bill was the first one on-scene, and he quickly fiddled with the breaker and got the music rolling again before any guests even noticed. Overall I am extremely happy with Bill's work, and my only regret of the night was that the venue shutdown time meant the dancing wasn't able to go all through the night. Would gladly book him again for any large event!

Choosing a DJ for your wedding can be difficult, but once we met Bill, the decision was easy. What a great DJ. For our initial meeting he offered to meet us at a location halfway between us instead of having to drive all the way to him. He was extremely nice and enthusiastic, and his prices were very reasonable. While preparing for the wedding, he was very responsive through email. Our wedding was Lord of the Rings themed, so we wanted to play a bunch of LOTR music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. It was really easy to get that all coordinated with Bill. Since Bill had never DJ'd at our venue before, he happily drove the *3 hour* round trip journey to visit it before the wedding to make sure he knew where to set up and that everything would go smoothly. While there, he made a great recommendation to not put any tables in front of the DJ booth to prevent music being blasted through the guests sitting there. The day of the wedding went perfectly. He played through all of our chosen songs, no problem. For the ceremony he set up a special microphone stand that picks up sound better than clip-ons and had no noise from wind. He also gave us some quick and helpful tips on cutting the cake. During our first dance we surprised our guests with a choreographed sword fight. We had given Bill instructions to play particular music tracks for certain parts of the fight, and he did them all right on cue. We aren't big dancers, but found ourselves on the dance floor most of the night thanks to Bill's excellent song choices. He was also really great at taking requests and keeping everyone smiling and having fun. I can't recommend Bill enough. If you are looking for a DJ, he is the one.

Bill was awesome for our wedding!! He was super professional and amazing to work with. He provides a really easy to use tool to organize song requests and was always quick to answer questions. He also provided a mic for the ceremony which allowed everyone to hear the whole thing clearly. Super addordable compared to lots of other DJ's in the area too! Amazing DJ!

Music was AMAZING! Hands down a very talented organization! Dave was our DJ for the night and he ROCKED IT! He knew exactly what to play to keep everyone on the dance floor and went above and beyond to cater to our specific music choices and live performances! Bill and Dave made a fantastic team in coordinating the music for our wedding and played a very important role in making our wedding EXTRA special!! Both Dave and Bill were kind, creative and easy to work with!

DJ Bill is PHENOMENAL! Not only is he the nicest guy, but he really is amazing at his job. Our day of coordinator had to step out to restock the bar, and he filled in without a second blink. He kept us on schedule without making us feel like he was herding cattle, and rightly advised me not to skip the garter/bouquet toss (I was having so much fun dancing I didn't want to stop!). Guests raved that our dance floor was more packed for the last song than entire weddings they had seen before. We welcomed requests, and DJ Bill did a great job balancing the requests and our choice songs. To top it off, someone requested a new song he didn't have yet, so he popped online and bought it. Right there! I highly, highly recommend DJ Bill.

We hired Bill for our wedding 10/11/14 and he was amazing! If you are party people, love to dance, and are looking for a DJ in San Diego then look no further. We met with Bill before the big day to chat about what we wanted for our party and boy did he deliver. He was also super quick to answer emails and phone calls. He even called to follow up with any questions he had to make sure he knew what we wanted. We had him for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and full reception. He also brought up-lights (for a small extra fee) to match our decor in the ballroom. We didn’t have very many special requests or do not play songs and he was able to get all the songs we requested for our processional, grand entrance, first dance, parent dances etc. He worked with us and our photographers (Cole Joseph Photography- You need to go book this amazing husband and wife duo, too! Cole and Amber Kelly, the coordinator at our venue the Catamaran Resort, were the ones to recommend Bill to us.) to come up with a timeline for our day. He took requests from our guests throughout the night and even stayed an extra half and hour and because the party was still going strong. The dance floor was filled all night long. We had such an incredible night and Bill helped to make it the perfect, happy celebration we were hoping for.

We had our wedding at The Castle at Mt. Woodson on September 20, 2014. The Castle requires its guests to use one of a few DJs on their list. We called Bill and he personally was booked. He instead hooked us up with Dave Smith. We met with Dave at Starbucks and were immediately impressed. We were also doing a "special rap" and Dave graciously mixed the rap for us. It was 2 minutes of a real song/dance and then an original rap to "Ice Ice Baby". The mix required several revisions and eventually we got it right. I also wanted special music during the cocktail hour and dinner (reggae covers of popular songs). Bill found all the songs I wanted and mixed a special CD for Dave. I'm sure that had to take a little while because these songs probably weren't on his regular play list. Dave arrived on time and guided the party appropriately. He announced the open bar, photo booth and cigar bar several times throughout the night as we wanted to be sure everyone was able to take advantage of all the "goodies" of the night! The music had everyone dancing all night! My favorite part of the evening was when they announced last call and there was an audible groan from the crowd who didn't want it to end. It was so fun!!! All in all, I was thoroughly happy with Bill and Dave. Do not hesitate!

My sister had attended a wedding where Dave Smith was the DJ and she referred him to me since everyone at the wedding had such a great time. I'm grateful that she did because he and Bill were very easy to work with leading up to the wedding and helping me plan it all out, they were very flexible and made things go smoothly! Since we didn't have a wedding planner, Dave a great Master of Ceremony and kept everything on track and on schedule. He kept things fun and we had some great laughs!

We found Bill through a friend and boy do we owe her a favor! I think Bill was booked so he set us up with Dave Smith. They both made the process easy and low stress. I waited until the last minute to think about music and Bill kept reassuring me that I actually didn't need to do anything at all and they would handle it. I gave them minimal handwritten scribbles and they made multiple phone calls to make sure we were all on the same page. They also had perfect recommendations. Dave was an awesome MC the entire night- a true professional which is exactly what you need. Neither of them had been to the venue in Temecula but it was not an issue. Thanks Bill and Dave for everything!

DJ Dave Smith was our DJ for our 9/21/13 wedding at Loews in Coronado. Bill was already booked when we contact him in Dec 2012 but he assured us that Dave would be great - and he was! Dave is familiar with Loews which made it easy for all parties involved. Bill and Dave made it so easy to coordinate what songs we wanted for the wedding ceremony and it turned out perfect. I was able to walk down the aisle to the exact lyrics I had requested. During our cocktail hour, Dave played my favorite song - who gets to really enjoy any part of their own cocktail hour? I'm glad to say I did. For our reception, Dave emceed with just the right amount of fun and enthusiasm, and played all of our "must play" songs. He was great at feeling out the crowd to keep the dance floor packed all night. We couldn't be happier with how the music turned out!! Thanks, Dave!! P.S. We've attended 2 weddings that Bill DJ'ed and he was equally as amazing. So regardless of who you get, you won't be disappointed. Prices are incredibly reasonable too!

Wow, what can we say about Bill Calhoun! Bill was on top of our celebration from the very get go. Bill was such an asset to our wedding in so many ways and really help make it the success it was. Bill communicated with us immediately with phone calls and e-mails. We received a package with a contract including a nice lengthy song selection. Music options covered all music interest and for every aspect of a wedding/party/celebration possible. Bill also sent a questionnaire and a schedule of dates so we would know when to send in our music selections and bridal party information. Also included was a couple of versions of "Schedule of events" for a typical wedding, again with several options. We were referred to Bill Calhoun who mentioned Bill knew how to keep a party going...And he did! We had our dance floor full the entire night. We found Bill to be very personable and full of positive energy. Bill truly wanted to know what kind of a wedding we wanted & must have listened to our every word. Bill made sure it happened as we had wished for. Bill not only played the music we chose but he kept every planed event on schedule, again in a very positive & "up" fashion. From the actual wedding to the final dance at our reception. Bill always had the celebration in perfect tempo knowing when to pick it up and cool it down. Bill took request and was very pleasing to all of our guest...On a side note, we had guest from late teens through 80's. Quite a large age span but Bill Calhoun covered it all and all had a great time. On the value side, Bill Calhoun was very, VERY, reasonable. On another side note, Bill is a great team player. He worked well with our entire bridal party, venue staff, caterers, photographer, the official performing our wedding and the wedding singer. A great asset to any wedding or event!

My mother had worked with Bill before when he DJed her office parties several years ago. I knew he'd be great because my mother is a perfectionist and would only hire the best. He was everything I expected and more at my wedding! He played great music, took requests and actually played them, and kept our reception on schedule. He was fun and everybody loved him! I'd recommend him to anyone and everyone!!

Bill was great! We had a DIY wedding and Bill made sure ahead of time that we were on the same page as to a timeline of the evening and what songs we would like to be played when. He kept the evening moving along smoothly and played all our favorite songs to keep the wedding upbeat and fun.

Bill is truly the best. He was great at playing music that pertained to our crowd and kept the dance floor full all night! He even played longer after everyone cheered for and encore!

Bill was recommended to us by a friend, and we went with him because of his low cost and fun personality. Both of our meetings with him gave me confidence in his ability to emcee our reception. He had a wide selection of music and did a wonderful job of DJing our reception. The only reason I gave him four stars instead of five was one incident at the reception when he made an announcement encouraging guests to visit the photo booth. For some unknown reason, he told everybody that they would get a free picture, which was not true and put me in the awkward position of having to choose between disappointing my excited guests and spending an extra $1000 to buy them each a picture. Other than that, Bill was a great DJ.

I can't say really great things about this DJ, but I also can't say too many bad things either, so I'm going down the middle with my review. I was a little disappointed that we had them do the music for the recessional after the reverend announced us Husband and Wife because the music was cutting in and out, almost like the CD he was using was scratched, so that was a flop. The DJ did have a great voice and knew which songs to play to get the crowd going and keep them moving, so that was nice.

Bill did a great job. Everyone had fun and he chose great songs.

Bill was excellent. Not only did he keep our guests dancing, but he also kept me and my husband on our timeline, which was not easy to do. I was having a lot of fun on the dance floor and didn't want to be torn away for anything. But Bill was so great at keeping us up to speed on all the wedding events. He had wonderful recommendations for songs, traditional wedding things to do, and music for each little event throughout. He was so easy to work with and so mellow the entire day. He has a ton of music to choose from an doesn't have a single problem with playing exactly what you want. He stayed away from the songs we didn't like (the one's on our "Don't Play" list) and was even wise enough to assume other's we might not like. I can't say enough about Bill. He was beyond excellent. I will absolutely find another reason to use him. He made the wedding extremely fun for me and my guests, which is the most important thing to a bride and even more important for the groom. He also did my uplighting. It was perfect. It made my reception glow. He even helped us clean up a little after the wedding! He's great. And he was unbelievably underpriced in my opinion. I hope he doesn't raise his rates, but he could and would still be worth it.

Bill, who is the owner of the company was our DJ. We told him most important thing was to keep people going, and they sure did dance all night. The floor was full. He has a great voice as MC of the nights. He followed the timeline of the wedding coordinator down to the T. She told me afterwards that evrything was within 2 minutes. He started toasts, all dances and the ceremony music was amaing!! Awesome job Bill!!!

I was so happy with my DJ Dave Smith! He arrived on time, was set up and ready to go, played all the right songs and really kept the night going. He even brought me a drink when I was outside taking pictures!! The night went smoothly, on time and according to my schedule and attribute most of that to my DJ. I was extremely happy with the service and the price was good too. My wedding was so much fun, people were dancing all night and had a great time!

Bill was amazing. He made sure he had our music, and kept the floor packed all night. Everything was on cue and he was so professional. If I had to pick a downfall, it's that he's not in the digital age yet, and doesn't do forms and such on the web. But he knows his CD collection well!

He was easy to work with and a good value. However, the music was too loud and he did not turn it down when we requested.

We used Bill's DJ - Dave Smith. He read the crowd perfectly (not always an easy job!) making sure everyone was having fun. His professionalism and experience shined through.

Bill Calhoun was the MAN! Kept the party going and kept us on a timetable. Everyone was very impressed by him and so happy that there was never that awkward moment in between little things (cake cutting, 1st dances, etc). We all loved the music selection and I was so happy with the result. I was on a tight budget and he worked with me to find it within that limit.

Bill did both our ceremony music and our reception and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. I went on a whim and emailed him on recommendation of our cake lady, never met him until our wedding day. Bill was very attentive in email correspondence with me - which was perfect. He was quick in response. I was worried because he was so affordable - and was not disappointed. We danced all night, one song no one was dancing to and he changed it up right there and then had everyone back out on the dance floor. I never had to give him direction on the wedding day, he kept us running on time and things running smoothly. He had all 4 of my grandparents out there dancing...and amazing feat in itself.

Bill knows how to read people, and our guests were dancing non stop til 11 p.m. He was so attentive too. (he is such a sweet person) When my husband and I were about to cut a cake, we didn't know what to do. Bill came to us immediately and directed us. That was such a big help!!! Thanks Bill :)
