Bill played solo guitar at our wedding ceremony as well as during cocktail hour. We had a do-it-ourselves type wedding, and Bill asked all the right questions and helped us figure out the best set-up for music enjoyment in the indoor and outdoor spaces we had. He had an extensive list of songs to choose from for the ceremony, and everyone really enjoyed his song choices during cocktail hour. We received several compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed Bill's guitar playing. Thank you again for helping to make our wedding day so special!
Bill is a phenomenal guitarist, couldn't be more thankful he was available for our wedding! Everyone at our small outdoor wedding agreed he was incredible! Also, his set list is great, and we very much appreciated his help in choosing our processional & recessional songs! Highly recommend!! Thanks again, Bill!
Bill played both my wedding as part of the band but also the cocktail hour as a soloist. He is outstanding! Incredibly talented, I had a number of people comment on his music. He’s also unbelievably kind and professional. I can’t recommend Bill enough!
We hired Bill to play acoustic guitar at our outdoor wedding - after our initial meeting where we went over all the details to include playing locations for the ceremony and reception, set lists, timeline, etc...we knew Bill was the right choice for us. He was the perfect combination of laid back and "chill," but incredibly professional, punctual, and genuine. His music worked beautifully for our big day, and we are still receiving compliments from guests weeks after the fact about how perfect Bill was!
Bill performed at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and was absolutely fabulous. I received several positive comments from guests on the music and he was a pleasure to work with.
Bill is a great guitarist but what really impressed me was the way he went above and beyond to make sure that the day went exactly as we had planned. We met with Bill in advance so he could play selections for us to make sure we had the right line up. He emailed with questions that showed he had done this before and was thinking through all the details. Day of he showed up well in advance to make sure he was set up with plenty of time to spare.
One of the best vendors I picked for my wedding, can't say enough good things!
Bill is a wonderful performer and he was great to work with at my son's informal outdoor wedding. He provided lots of suggestions for the processional and recessional, as well as playlists of other music to perform. We all enjoyed his music!
Wow!!!! Bill stole the show at our wedding. Our guest loved listening to his music during cocktail hour and dinner. I would highly HIGHLY recommend Bill!!
I'll attest to the reviews that you read, Bill is the man and there is no need to doubt wether you picked the right guy for the job. Bill played my favorite girl in at our wedding, and it sounded brilliant. He brought the band in afterward and rocked our reception. It was solid musically even adventurous at many times and the perfect blend of tradition and a fresh performance. Speaking as a musician, I'm really glad that we found him.
Bill Sickles needs to be higher up on every search for wedding music in Denver.
First, let's get this out of the way: Most weddings are boring, lame, overthought (yet somehow cookie cutter), and a waste of time. There are so many things I can list off about what I hate about weddings, but my number one complaint for most weddings: the music (Food is a close second. If I have to wait for food because you're too busy taking pictures, you're doing your wedding wrong).
Everyone uses a DJ, which makes your event inauthentic like the "Mexican" restaurant you frequent. Anyone can make a playlist on iTunes or Spotify, press play, and awesome. You have your background music as if you're in the produce section of Walmart. If that's what you want because you're an uncultured human being that wants to hear the same things you can hear on your car radio when you're driving to work, get a DJ. Oh and have that DJ - who you have never met and has never had any social bearing on your relationship up until this point - emcee the whole thing! What a great idea! Call up DJ Sarcasm and wikaa wikaa on the ones and twos!
You have got to be kidding me. There is nothing personal about you having a DJ. Cross it off and book Bill Sickles.
Bill Sickles was one of the highlights of our wedding. He's a masterful guitarist who does an outstanding solo act with his loop pedal. We had him play music throughout cocktail hour and eating and socializing before the real reception kicked in later that night. Bill played Beatles, James Taylor, Carol King, jazz hits, recent pop hits, the whole sha-bang. Bill Sickles takes your whole event to another level of class that will outshine all of your friends' weddings.
I'm being serious. With Bill at your wedding, your married friends will show up and say, "Oh man, why didn't we do this? We suck. We should probably divorce, re-marry, and get a mulligan for our wedding."
Not only that, but he played our first dance and the parents + bride/groom dances, and having live accompaniment from Bill made those moments so much more emotional than they were tired tropes of your standard wedding. You want to press play on your phone and make everyone listen to the same song they've heard dozens of times? Or do you want your dances to be special moments and therefore provide special performances of a special song? How many times do I need to say "special" to drill it into you that pressing a button for your first dance is incredibly hack and emotionally underwhelming?
You need to have Bill Sickles at your wedding. Bill is professional, kind, patient, chill, and everything you could ever ask for. He's willing to learn some songs for you and take requests. My family was over the moon with every song he would pull from his knowledge vault.
And on top of all this, he is incredibly affordable! Hey! You ever notice how expensive DJ's are? That's because there's a high demand for mediocrity! People don't know any better! Ask Bill what his price is and take a seat because you're about to be floored with his response. Not only will your reception be one-of-a-kind and classier than most, you saved money at the same time.
Why are you still reading this review and not calling Bill? What's wrong with you?
Let's review:
1) Everyone doing their wedding is lame.
2) Bill Sickles isn't lame.
3) Book Bill Sickles.
I'm glad we could have this discussion. You won't be led astray by booking Bill.
My husband and I used Bill Sickles for our ceremony music and he did such a fabulous job. We had impeding weather during our ceremony that sprinkled throughout, Bill kept the music coming. We met with him a month before the wedding and planned out the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. He pretty much can play and learn anything you would want for either the ceremony and cocktail hour. He started 30 minutes before the ceremony and continued till the reception. My brother is a singer, Bill was eager to perform with him and with very little rehearsing, he played two songs with my brother. They did such a beautiful job. I can't thank Bill enough for doing such a beautiful job. I highly recommend him!
