First off, we would like to say that Billy Ray is a great saxophone player. We decided to book him for our wedding due to his performance at a restaurant. We are leaving 3 stars with the intention to not scare away customers, and to understand ...that he is a great player.
For our wedding day however, we would have left 2 stars. We booked BillyRay Sheppard for a duo service, two 45 minute sessions during our wedding Ceremony. During booking services, I sent BillyRay Sheppard a list of songs that I wanted to be played for before the wedding, wedding processional and bridal processional. They arrived on time and played 15 mins before our ceremony (it was discussed to play 30), which our guest said sounded beautiful. Unfortunately, I am unable to speak to his services. I was very surprised and disappointed to hear a music recording (cd, usb??) of the songs we requested while walking down the aisle. Which happened to be requested by our priest not to do. After communicating to BillyRay about the services paid for, I was informed that there was a misunderstanding on me wanting an "instrumental" music played. This was very confusing since we paid for a saxophone duo and not "a recording to played", and the saxophone was not played at all during this time. On top of this, only 15 mins of services was played and the remainder of time was not played, despite time paid for. Reasoning was due to "everyone leaving", instead of communicating with the bride/groom if there was confusion. He offered a discounted service in the future, instead of a refund. He was very apologetic but you can't replace these moments. On top of that, after receiving photos from our guest, the pianist was sleep in the background almost the entire ceremony (which was only 30 mins).
I hate to leave potentially harmful reviews, but this moment was important. Not sure of how many wedding bookings would happen in the future, but be sure to communicate that you want "instrumental" music playing.
