Biofloria is a sustainable small floral and botanical design studio in Reston, VA. We emphasize nature, romance, and jazz in our wedding and event designs. Having an artistic and free-spirited approach to floral design allows us to curate truly unique floral experiences for our clients.
Communication is a core value for us and we make our brides and grooms feel like a big part of the floral design process by creating interactive moodboards for every wedding and event client . This approach allows them to make clear and concise decisions that they love as we narrow down the options! We also help support the environment by helping you repurpose your flowers, use recycled glass and containers, feature locally grown/ farm direct flowers and foliage in our designs, & use re-usable mechanics. We also donate leftover flowers from events to local assisted living and retirement homes or use them in public floral installations to continue the life of flowers and spread floral joy.
Biofloria welcomes all humans with open arms and we would love to be a part of your special day! Their offerings include aisle decorations, centerpieces, corsages, boutonnières, wedding arches, chuppahs, mandaps, flower crowns, Malas, aisle flowers, floral installations, tablescape, candles, fresh flower walls and bridal bouquets. “Biofloria” - a play on the word “Biophilia”. It means: the need to connect with flowers. My favorite part of being a wedding florist is the honor of being trusted with beautifying one of the (assumed) most important days in a person’s life. I love the personal aspect of planning floral designs with my clients and getting to know them through consultations, moodboards, and emails! Helping my client hone and refine their floral visions or ignite their creativity is a very special part of the process. Flowers have helped me learn and heal in my lifetime and it is a joy to share that experience.

Maya was amazing to work with from start to finish and absolutely one of our favorite vendors. We got married on 11/8/24 at the Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens- already a lush venue so we wanted limited pops of white flowers and lots of candles to complement it (she was able to supply the candles too which was so huge!). Maya had great ideas and recommendations throughout- we chatted on the phone a number of times and she was so helpful, friendly, and always really respectful of our budget.
Maya went above and beyond with another piece we didn't even know about until our wedding day- my mom reached out to her a month before the wedding to see if she could incorporate pieces of lace from her and my mother-in-law's wedding dresses into our bouquet/boutonniere. She was so excited to do it and did so beautifully!!
We are so thankful to Maya and team for being an amazing and joyful part of our wedding day and making it absolutely stunning :)

Whether you know exactly what florals you want at your wedding or you have no idea where to start, Maya at Biofloria will execute perfectly. Even though I worked closely with Maya leading up to my wedding, including multiple design calls she organized to go over all floral aspects of the day, I was still blown away by Maya’s work at the wedding. Everything was perfect and beyond what I hoped for. Maya was organized, prompt, and helpful to work with. I cannot recommend Biofloria enough. If you use Biofloria for your event, you’re guaranteed to have an absolutely beautiful wedding.

Biofloria was one of the best choices we made for our wedding! Maya was responsive, friendly, and delivered GORGEOUS arrangements at a super competitive price. We met with her multiple times early on to determine the best set of florals to maximize our budget (originally <3k, but we ended up being able to flex a little and were glad we did), during which she was transparent about pricing and provided a variety of options to maximize our value, like using bud vases for some tables and reusing ceremony florals for the sweetheart table. No other florist we reached out to was able to provide the same volume of florals and level of service at our price point. We also appreciated Biofloria’s commitment to more eco-friendly florals like using local blooms and reusable materials. Closer to the big day, Maya met with us a few more times to nail down the specifics and took lots of time to understand our vision and priorities, tweaking our color palette to better reflect our style. We were blown away by the vibrant, lush florals and got lots of compliments. The arch, bouquets, and centerpiece designs were just like we imagined, with even more color and volume than we dared to hope for!

Maya was hands down my favorite wedding vendor. She was so communicative throughout the entire process. I should have known from the minute I submitted my inquiry she called me right away and we chatted for half and hour. I still went through the motions and spoke with other florists who were asking me for wedding details that I had not even begun thinking about yet. As a bride who was overwhelmed with decision paralysis from all the different aspects of wedding planning she was so helpful and easy to work with. She sent me a moodboard and I knew right away that I trusted her vision and design skills. I loved all of the floral arrangements, especially my bouquet. It looks so gorgeous in all of the photographs.

Immediately after an online inquiry, Maya gave me a call and she immediately understood exactly what we envisioned and asked great creative questions, we ended up talking for a whole hour having so much fun building a vision! She quickly became my favorite vendor to talk to. Not only that, but she clearly understood what we wanted and within our budget which was so hard to find in the NOVA area. She is so passionate about her art and has such an acute attention to detail. Our florals looked exactly like what we envisioned and brightened up our event with such visual joy. If we could give Maya 1,000 stars, we would. She is without a doubt the best vendor we booked and I’m still in awe of how INCREDIBLE our florals turned out. She is so detail oriented and truly cares about her clients, and did so much to make sure we had the florals of our dreams. Every time I talk to someone about our wedding, the first thing they comment on is how stunning our flowers were! 3 months later and I’m still obsessed with how she truly helped us achieve the wedding of my dreams. Maya did an incredible job on the florals for our wedding!
She was very communicative and captured our style and requests perfectly. We weren't sure what we wanted going into the design process, and she led us through extremely helpful design sessions aided by the excellent vision boards she provided. She also worked with us to meet all of our needs within our budget.
On the day of the wedding, she was a champ - laboring in the oppressive Northern Virginia heat to set up outdoor ceremony decorations and building out florals in our trellis. The whole time she was upbeat and brought a positive energy to our day.
Maya is a highly professional gifted artist and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a florist in the DMV!

Maya essentially took our color scheme and budget constraints and transformed our venue with absolutely stunning florals. She provided full service, repurposing arrangements and bouquets in the ceremony for the reception and adding creative touches to elevate the space beautifully, like greenery on sconces. She even created a mood board for us before booking - however, I knew we’d choose her immediately after my first consultation! Having interviewed several other florists, Maya stood out as someone who is clearly passionate about flowers, creative, attentive, sweet, and professional. More than just providing stunning floral arrangements (I mean the photos speak for themselves), she is a such a sweetheart. Biofloria will not disappoint you. I was trying to decide if I should go with real or fake flowers as I didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars on florals. When I came across Biofloria on Instagram, and we had our consultation, I knew I found the right florist for my special day.
Maya is sweet, understanding, flexible, attentive to detail, and so much more. I didn’t want white or ivory flowers. Instead, I wanted pretty spring flowers that were dreamy and romantic. When I saw the flowers on my wedding day, I was blown away! Everyone loved my flowers. My bridal party loved their florals as well!
So much so say, but if you’re trying to decide if you should go with Biofloria, let this be your sign to now wavier anymore, and say yes to them.

Maya/Biofloria was a great choice! From the initial phone call, I could tell that Maya was passionate about flowers and providing a great experience for her clients. I didn't know anything about flowers and she was kind, patient, and informative with me and walked me through the process. It was truly fun collaborating with her for my wedding florals. I wanted to incorporate cherry blossoms and Maya did a great job of securing them for the day and incorporating them to our design. When I saw the designs come to life, I was blown away by it all! Everyone complimented the table decor, the large flower designs with the urn, and everything else. What made it even special was that Maya helped wrap up individual bouquets for our guests at the end of the evening. She truly is the most magical, kind, and wonderful person and I am so happy that we worked together!

We can't say enough good things about Maya and the team at Biofloria. They were attentive, dedicated, caring, flexible, creative, and went the extra mile to make sure our vision came to life. The arrangements were beautiful and absolutely exactly what we wanted...and she was able to accommodate us last minute, even around Valentine's Day. I'm still astounded by it all, especially given how reasonable the costs were for what we got. Highly recommend.

Biofloria took our detailed requests to heart and followed up with several inspiration boards that reflected the vision we were looking for. In addition, she was able to pivot the day of the outdoor ceremony when one of the floral arrangements was attracting too many bees, she easily made a change of floral and everything was still gorgeous. I highly recommend Maya of Biofloria as she is a joy to work with and has great creative inspiration.

Maya was my favorite vendor we worked with! Even though I originally was not even sure if I wanted a florist, I now could not imagine my wedding without Maya. She was very responsive and detail oriented, stuck to our budget, she sent us beautiful mood boards, and she gave us great suggestions we never would have thought of that really made the wedding shine. When I walked into my own wedding and then into my reception, the flowers were exactly what I pictured except better. They were bigger and more beautiful but still extremely refined. The arch, tables, and sweetheart table were stunning. My bouquet was perfect. The bridesmaid corsages had pearl bands that the girls loved. There were beautiful flowers everywhere. I encouraged several guests to take flowers home with them at the end of the night and they did. I'm recommending Maya to all my local friends that are getting engaged soon. I'm convinced that you cannot find a better florist. Thank you Maya!

Maya is AMAIZING! Most reasonably priced florist in the DMV area by far, and somehow also the most sustainable. We chose her to do our wedding flowers and she exceeded anything we could imagine. Not only did she deliver perfectly on my dream bridal bouquet, she also surprised us with arch flowers and aisle florals that she put together with extra flowers she had sourced (her shop focuses on sustainability and not throwing out plant parts!). Everything she delivered - bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, flower children petals, boutonnieres, arch flowers, aisle florals - was fresh, smelled incredible, and looked a dream. No matter how vague or specific I was, Maya was so patient in walking me toward a vision that looked fantastic and somehow stood out in a garden wedding filled with other flowers. Her attention to detail and personalized approach was perfect. We simply cannot express how amazing our flowers are - she somehow captured the perfect vision I didn't know I had. Maya was incredible with our florals. She took the time to really get to know myself and the groom for our wedding. My husband and I gave her full support to be as creative as she would like. We gave her what colors we wanted and she did the rest. There were a couple times I had to switch up the budget due to lack of planning on my part but she was ever so helpful and still wanted to work with us. Maya is the sweetest person you will get to meet and is absolutely amazing at her job. She also recommended her brother who does photography and they worked so great together.
