About this vendor

Birds Of A Feather is a family-led creative studio, founded on love, built with intention, and rooted in legacy offering photography and videography in The Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, Poconos, North Jersey, NYC, and beyond. We’re John and Tassia -husband and wife for over 20 years, partners in life, love, and the beautiful work of photographing weddings. We have been photographing weddings for 15 years! We are now joined by our son, Noah - who after studying film at NYU has become the lead videographer here at Birds Of A Feather. We work seamlessly as a family to capture photo and video of your wedding day, turning your memories into legacy. We’ve traveled to 18 countries, hiked countless trails, run a flower farm here in the Lehigh Valley, and have told over 400 love stories through our lenses. I homeschool our children, garden, cook a lot from scratch- we do things with intention . We bring a quiet confidence, a grounded presence, and a deep understanding of how sacred it is to find someone to share your life with. This isn’t just a business for us. It’s a family legacy. It’s how we celebrate life’s greatest gift -love -and help preserve it for generations. We believe in storytelling that feels real and effortless, in timeless images that breathe with emotion, and in serving every couple with kindness, artistry, and intention. Yes, we’ve been published and awarded - but what truly matters to us is how you feel when we’re by your side, and how you feel when you look back at your photos decades from now. We're not here to perform. We're here to care. We’re honored to come alongside you in this season - to help you feel fully seen, beautifully celebrated, and deeply remembered. Inspired by love. Crafted with intention. Preserved for generations. PS- A portion of your investment in our artistry goes to planting and preserving pollinator meadows at our farm, and we would like to invite you for photos here too! Let's grow our roots of legacy together!

We loved working with Tassia, John, and their family. We used them for photography (Tassia and John), videography (their son, Noah), and content creation (their daughter, Annika). ...

Throughout the planning process, Tassia was responsive, thorough, and communicative, and we had a wonderful engagement shoot session with her months before. She also helped with some of my pre-planning, looking over my day-of-timeline and my photography lists and offering some suggestions. On the wedding day, they brought printouts of the photography lists I had put together, and were so thorough and thoughtful with their posing suggestions, etc. they also helped keep things on track when I was feeling overwhelmed with family members all talking to me, etc. but also provided flexibility as additional asks for different groupings came up. Tassia was such a calming presence on the big day, and both her and John were rocks for us throughout the chaos. So far, we got the previews/sneak peek photos from them, and I am in LOVE. I can't wait to see everything in a few weeks! Our wedding day ended up being rainy and miserably cold, and I was so grateful to have professionals I could lean on as we had to pivot our locations for first look, family formals, and pretty much everything! I said "I just need someone else to decide, and I trust your opinion and expertise- you just let me know where to go!" and it was great. Could not recommend them more!!

Tassia, John, and Noah from Birds of a Feather Photography were absolutely WONDERFUL! They were so kind, easy to work with, and incredibly creative in getting the best shots. Noah ...

Working with Tassia and John was a highlight of our wedding experience. They were communicative, transparent, organized and friendly from the start. Tassia did our engagement photo...

session which was great because it gave us an opportunity to get to know her. Neither of us really enjoy being photographed but she made us feel so comfortable both individually and together. We met John on our wedding day and he was lovely as well. They were able to split the coverage for the day which helped ensure we captured as much as possible and also saved time. Their friend, PJ, did our videography and was fantastic. I knew from the second I met him that I could trust his vision and input. We got some preview photos last week and I was blown away. They turned out so much better than I could have ever imagined. I genuinely could go on and on. Bottom line, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a talented team of photographers to capture life's most precious moments.

I could not recommend this company more. They were so lovely and made sure to capture every detail. We received 1,345 photos and loved every single one.

They were amazing! Super detail oriented and timely and efficient! We added videography which we can’t wait to watch! Thanks again

I knew right away she would take great care of us on our big day. We had a lot of fun at our engagement photo shoot. Wedding day came and Tassia and John were a much needed calming presence on such an emotionally-charged (positively, of course!) day. Our photos all came out beautifully and we had a large assortment of both posed and candid shots. We will cherish these photos forever. Tassia also let us know their son, Noah was interested in getting experience with videography and an editor could use his shots to turn them in to a video. Since we had been on the fence regarding a videographer and quite frankly our budget was already stretched thin, we were excited to capture video footage of our day. He did such a great job and we are so thrilled to have something to watch back and remember the day in motion. Everything came out fantastic and we would absolutely recommend Birds of a Feather! Thanks Tassia, John and Noah!

. One of the key factors my husband and I were looking for in our wedding photographers was a couple who would be able to capture our wedding day from both of our perspectives. Both Tassia and John are incredibly talented and did an amazing job capturing the best moments of one of the best days of our lives! I definitely recommend them for your wedding day!

stressful. We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to photograph our wedding – not only did they make the day better for us as a whole, but the pictures they delivered to us following our wedding were nothing short of stunning. We felt that they captured every meaningful moment and provided us with numerous pictures of our loved ones that will be treasured forever. We aren’t the most comfortable people in front of a camera, but you wouldn’t be able to tell that looking at our photos – Tassia and John both put us and our guests at ease while they captured our day. Truly the best photography team we could ask for!!

during the group photos rearranging family and making everyone and everything was in the right spot while also making sure we were running on time and getting the photos we had wanted. ve energy. Tassia was super patient with all of our questions, and when we met her in person for our engagement session, we were 100% certain we made the perfect choice of wedding photographer. And then we saw the pictures and were blown away. They were exactly what I had hoped for, but wasn't sure I would get. Tassia was totally on top of things going into the wedding, and was an absolutely calming presence on the day of the wedding. John is just as pleasant and calming as Tassia - they're a dream to work with. So far we have only seen a preview of our wedding photos, but to say that we cannot wait for the full set is an understatement. We're so excited to see our photos. Tassia and John did an amazing job capturing the real us, our whole day, and each little moment and detail that meant the most to us. I cannot recommend Tassia and John enough - they are one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

ding. They were so warm and professional, and put us to ease during both the planning process as well as on our day, despite not having met them in person before. They answered all of our questions leading up to our day and helped us come up with the best photo plan for our timeline of events. They captured so many beautiful moments on our day, and had a sample of photos to share with us while we were still on our honeymoon. And the full gallery of photos came not long afterwards! The photo quality is just amazing. We can't recommend them highly enough!

Maggie and her team were such an awesome part of our big day! Despite the rain, they kept things super positive and fun and got the most AMAZING photos. Hate being in front of the ...

camera? Not to worry because Maggie provides the simplest cues to make everything look so genuine and just flat out real. They captured all the best moments of the day and were so flexible and adaptable to the weather and venue. Not to mention that they worked extremely well with our videographer team and always communicated well. Overall, we are so thankful that we chose Birds of a Feather photography and we love that we get to relive our big day over and over again through their incredible photos.

way. We met Tassia for our engagement photos and had a blast. We loved working with her and were immediately comfortable. She was up for anything, even walking into a river in October! For our wedding day, we had both Tassia and John. They were great at directing us and our party/families and easygoing. Multiple people told us, “Your photographers are on it!”, and how impressed they were with them. They captured all the moments we hoped they would and then some. They are professional, sweet, and their work speaks for itself. We would recommend them to anyone!

Tassia and John were an absolute dream to work with. We fell in love with their work and their aesthetic looking at their website, and they absolutely delivered for us. They kept u...

s feeling comfortable and at ease the entire time, giving gentle guidance and offering suggestions about what would translate best on film. They have such a talent for making themselves blend in to the background, which allowed them to capture guests at their most natural in some really beautiful shots. Leading up to the wedding, they were great at answering emails and communicating with us. About a month prior, they had us fill out a very detailed form explaining our vision and what we were looking for, and we really appreciated that thoroughness because it really demonstrates how seriously they take their work. We didn’t have many specific shots or visions in mind, so we trusted their judgment and it was the best decision. We’re so grateful we chose to work with John and Tassia and to have so many beautiful photos to cherish forever.

ot better from there on out. She drove about an hour to our engagement shoot. My husband and I both were a bit nervous about the day. We don’t take formal pictures very often. Tassia has a generally calming presence about her, gently guiding us through photos, artistic and intentional in her direction. She had us fill out a form of must-have photos and places on the venue grounds we wanted captured. We realized we would need an extra hour the day of our wedding, which she accommodated without issue. She and John were peripherally present for the entire day. They were right there when we needed them, but never in the way. A few days after our wedding, they sent us some sneak peaks photos and wrote a beautiful post on their social media page about our day. They also got us our flash drive within 6 weeks of our wedding day! They were just incredibly thoughtful and professional from start to finish. I will definitely be working with them again in the future.

breathtaking their photos are, we knew they were the ones we needed! Tassia and John are such a lovely couple and SO easy to work with. Tassia is so nice and has amazing vision that I completely trusted her to lead the way! Their portfolio is breathtaking and the exact breezy, romantic, and fun look we were going for. Our first look and bridal party photos were SO easy because Tassia and John made it fast and effortless, not only during our wedding day, but the entire process from start to finish as we coordinated our photos and what we wanted captured for our big day. Our family photos were a breeze as well. So many of our guests came up to us during the night to say how wonderful and nice our photographers were. We can't wait to see our wedding photos! Tassia and John at Birds of a Feather are amazing and made the entire process so so easy! We loved working with you and are so happy you got to spend our wedding night with us!

r engagement shoot and throughout the entire wedding. I'm still not sure how they were able to deal with all the crazy friends and family we invited! Professional and patient since day one, and their work completely speaks for itself - they know EXACTLY what they're doing, no cheesy photo edits or awkward angles here! We could not be happier with the results, book BOAF fast before someone else does, they're popular for a reason ;)

Let me start by saying I planned my wedding while living in Canada and Tassia was so accommodating to that. We frequently spoke via email and once by phone to get to know each oth...

er. We had initially decided on less coverage time and only one photographer but after continuously seeing how amazing Tassia and John work as a team, we changed our mind and got two photographers and eventually added extra coverage time too. Tassia never pushed us to go the extra mile, she always said that no matter what we got, we would love the end result. Onto the wedding day, Tassia showed up early and was so easy to interact with. While getting ready, she was able to capture every special moment. She incorporated everything I wanted and came prepared with her own ideas. Her personality is amazing. She is so kind and soft spoken. She always made sure I was comfortable for every shot we took. John took the before pictures with my husband and his groomsmen. The only thing I kept hearing from them was how much fun they had and how John let their personalities shine. At the wedding ceremony itself, John and Tassia work together to get different angles. After the wedding, they went through our list together to get every shot and then took pictures of my husband and I alone. The bond John and Tassia share is beautiful and it makes them working together so perfect. The reception was even better. We would walk around to talk with our guests and every time we would turn to get a photo, John would be there patiently waiting to snap a shot of us. We spent good money for good pictures and I would do it again in a heart beat. Spend money on your photographers, pictures are one of the only things you'll have left to look at when the wedding is over.

When Maegan and I entered the planning phase of our wedding, we knew two things: it would be a lot of work, and to make sure we had a good photographer. We did an extensive search...

on photographers using TheKnot.com, and we collected a lot of portfolios to go through. We were put-off by the amount of "staged" photos and overly edited photos, and we wanted someone to simply be at the wedding and take candid photos to remind us of how it actually was. When we found Birds of a Feather, we loved the natural use of lighting, and when we reached out to show us more photos of candid photography, they happily sent us another portfolio showcasing some recent photos. We decided this would be a perfect match. Maegan and I had our first talk with Tassia through a conference call, and it was clear that she we could trust her with free reign after we had a great conversation of our vision. She asked us questions outside of photography that helped to know us more than behind the lens. We did not have an engagement photo shoot, so the first time we met was at the wedding (we had planned quite a bit prior via email). It was an extremely pleasant experience, as she was professional, was guiding but not pushy, and had a lot of creative skills in working with an entire group. Without being at the venue prior, she lined up a lot of fantastic shots. We are EXTREMELY please with how the photos turned out, and we were extremely excited to share them with out family. When we got word they were finished, we were joyful they had sent us Next Day shipping with a beautiful wooden usb. Would highly recommend; they were the exact photographers we wanted for our wedding.

John and Tassia did such a wonderful job capturing our special day! Over the year and a half we corresponded with them, they perfectly captured our essence and our vision for both ...

the engagement shoot and the big day itself. Their photographs were a lovely blend of posed and candid, with variety in angles, lighting, and scenery that gave us a perfect look at every aspect of the wedding day. We were very grateful for their courteousness and flexibility as some of our plans changed as well! Highly recommend.

Tassia and John were simply AMAZING to work with! This was the first time we had ever worked with photographers who we had not known previously, so we weren't sure what to expect. ...

However, they made us feel so comfortable throughout our entire wedding day and it was clear how much passion they have for the work they do and the couples they work with. They captured our day perfectly and caught all of the small moments that meant so much to us.

to work with. When looking through our wedding photos I get the same feelings as I had that day. They captured all the moments I had hoped for. Tassia makes you feel like a priority from the first time you talk to her. Her vision, friendliness, passion and happiness is everything I hoped for our wedding day. She walked through the timeline with me and answered any questions I had along the way. Our pictures are absolutely stunning and everyone in our bridal party was so complimentary of them and how they work. They are absolutely the best, easy going, and energetic. We had so much fun and we would give them 10 stars if I could. Thank you again so much Tassia and John!

Choosing Birds of a Feather to shoot our wedding was easily the best decision my husband and I made when wedding planning. After "interviewing" many wedding photographers, we soon ...

realized that Birds of a Feather was the one we wanted. Tassia and John were so wonderful throughout the day and helped to make it run smoothly. We recently received our photos and can honestly say we could not be any happier. EVERY photo they took is amazing. It is going to be so hard to pick which ones we want framed! Thank you, Tassia and John. I would recommend them to every bride and groom!!

indoors due to the weather, Tassia and John were determined to scope out the best spots by the water once the rain subsided. It was great to have both of them there throughout the afternoon and evening to capture the “getting ready” shots of the bridal party, detail shots (flowers, rings, favors and cake), our first-look by the lake, group pictures after the ceremony and action shots on the dance floor! My husband and I were even able to sneak away during dinner to get more pictures by the lake. I would absolutely recommend Birds of a Feather!

rience was seamless and filled with authentic joy. Danielle was so sensitive to our personalities, style and needs so we felt like we got a truly personalized experience as well as suggestions of some things we might not have thought of otherwise. Cannot recommend enough! The perfect blend of style, professionalism and kindness. and we LOOOOOOVE our photos!!

f a Feather Photography was the best choice we made. Tassia and John were not only amazing photographers, they were excited and happy for us. We created an amusement park theme wedding and they captured it perfectly. They were able to capture the fun amusement park feel we were going for. Tassia was great at discussing our vision before hand so she understood the look we were trying to achieve. We also had an engagement shoot at Knobel's Amusement Park which went phenomenal. Every photo Tassia took was amazing, I still get compliments on them. My husband and I both chose one thing that was important to us for our wedding, he chose food and I chose photography. We made those things a priority and compromised on other things. I can not express how wonderful it was to have Tassia and John there for us on our wedding day.

t so great! On the wedding day, I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. We were running late due to my hair stylist and ran so much out of time we couldn't do our planned first look photos. I was so upset and stressed out from running late and she was there for me the whole time. She knew how important it was for me to at least quickly see my groom before the ceremony and my wedding coordinator wasn't going to even allow us 5 minutues together, but Danielle pulled her aside and convinced her otherwise and I got to have my few moments with him as well as the first look photos I've always wanted. That meant the world to me and I'm so thankful for her doing that. She was so great throughout the ceremony and reception getting all sorts of shots and only pulling us away briefly to get our couple pictures since we couldn't before the ceremony. I'm so thankful for her and sooo happy i went with Birds of a Feather.
