Birds Of A Feather is a family-led creative studio, founded on love, built with intention, and rooted in legacy offering photography and videography in The Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, Poconos, North Jersey, NYC, and beyond.
We’re John and Tassia -husband and wife for over 20 years, partners in life, love, and the beautiful work of photographing weddings. We have been photographing weddings for 15 years! We are now joined by our son, Noah - who after studying film at NYU has become the lead videographer here at Birds Of A Feather. We work seamlessly as a family to capture photo and video of your wedding day, turning your memories into legacy.
We’ve traveled to 18 countries, hiked countless trails, run a flower farm here in the Lehigh Valley, and have told over 400 love stories through our lenses. I homeschool our children, garden, cook a lot from scratch- we do things with intention .
We bring a quiet confidence, a grounded presence, and a deep understanding of how sacred it is to find someone to share your life with.
This isn’t just a business for us. It’s a family legacy. It’s how we celebrate life’s greatest gift -love -and help preserve it for generations.

Throughout the planning process, Tassia was responsive, thorough, and communicative, and we had a wonderful engagement shoot session with her months before. She also helped with some of my pre-planning, looking over my day-of-timeline and my photography lists and offering some suggestions.
On the wedding day, they brought printouts of the photography lists I had put together, and were so thorough and thoughtful with their posing suggestions, etc. they also helped keep things on track when I was feeling overwhelmed with family members all talking to me, etc. but also provided flexibility as additional asks for different groupings came up.
Tassia was such a calming presence on the big day, and both her and John were rocks for us throughout the chaos. So far, we got the previews/sneak peek photos from them, and I am in LOVE. I can't wait to see everything in a few weeks!
Our wedding day ended up being rainy and miserably cold, and I was so grateful to have professionals I could lean on as we had to pivot our locations for first look, family formals, and pretty much everything! I said "I just need someone else to decide, and I trust your opinion and expertise- you just let me know where to go!" and it was great. Could not recommend them more!!

I knew right away she would take great care of us on our big day. We had a lot of fun at our engagement photo shoot. Wedding day came and Tassia and John were a much needed calming presence on such an emotionally-charged (positively, of course!) day. Our photos all came out beautifully and we had a large assortment of both posed and candid shots. We will cherish these photos forever. Tassia also let us know their son, Noah was interested in getting experience with videography and an editor could use his shots to turn them in to a video. Since we had been on the fence regarding a videographer and quite frankly our budget was already stretched thin, we were excited to capture video footage of our day. Tassia has a generally calming presence about her, gently guiding us through photos, artistic and intentional in her direction. She had us fill out a form of must-have photos and places on the venue grounds we wanted captured. We realized we would need an extra hour the day of our wedding, which she accommodated without issue. She and John were peripherally present for the entire day. They were right there when we needed them, but never in the way. A few days after our wedding, they sent us some sneak peaks photos and wrote a beautiful post on their social media page about our day. They also got us our flash drive within 6 weeks of our wedding day! They were just incredibly thoughtful and professional from start to finish. We had initially decided on less coverage time and only one photographer but after continuously seeing how amazing Tassia and John work as a team, we changed our mind and got two photographers and eventually added extra coverage time too. Tassia never pushed us to go the extra mile, she always said that no matter what we got, we would love the end result.
Onto the wedding day, Tassia showed up early and was so easy to interact with. While getting ready, she was able to capture every special moment. She incorporated everything I wanted and came prepared with her own ideas. Her personality is amazing. She is so kind and soft spoken. She always made sure I was comfortable for every shot we took.
John took the before pictures with my husband and his groomsmen. The only thing I kept hearing from them was how much fun they had and how John let their personalities shine.
At the wedding ceremony itself, John and Tassia work together to get different angles. After the wedding, they went through our list together to get every shot and then took pictures of my husband and I alone. The bond John and Tassia share is beautiful and it makes them working together so perfect.
The reception was even better. We would walk around to talk with our guests and every time we would turn to get a photo, John would be there patiently waiting to snap a shot of us.
We spent good money for good pictures and I would do it again in a heart beat. Spend money on your photographers, pictures are one of the only things you'll have left to look at when the wedding is over.

on photographers using TheKnot.com, and we collected a lot of portfolios to go through. We were put-off by the amount of "staged" photos and overly edited photos, and we wanted someone to simply be at the wedding and take candid photos to remind us of how it actually was. When we found Birds of a Feather, we loved the natural use of lighting, and when we reached out to show us more photos of candid photography, they happily sent us another portfolio showcasing some recent photos. We decided this would be a perfect match.
Maegan and I had our first talk with Tassia through a conference call, and it was clear that she we could trust her with free reign after we had a great conversation of our vision. She asked us questions outside of photography that helped to know us more than behind the lens. We did not have an engagement photo shoot, so the first time we met was at the wedding (we had planned quite a bit prior via email). It was an extremely pleasant experience, as she was professional, was guiding but not pushy, and had a lot of creative skills in working with an entire group. Without being at the venue prior, she lined up a lot of fantastic shots. We are EXTREMELY please with how the photos turned out, and we were extremely excited to share them with out family. When we got word they were finished, we were joyful they had sent us Next Day shipping with a beautiful wooden usb. Would highly recommend; they were the exact photographers we wanted for our wedding.

It was great to have both of them there throughout the afternoon and evening to capture the “getting ready” shots of the bridal party, detail shots (flowers, rings, favors and cake), our first-look by the lake, group pictures after the ceremony and action shots on the dance floor! f a Feather Photography was the best choice we made. Tassia and John were not only amazing photographers, they were excited and happy for us. We created an amusement park theme wedding and they captured it perfectly. They were able to capture the fun amusement park feel we were going for. Tassia was great at discussing our vision before hand so she understood the look we were trying to achieve. We also had an engagement shoot at Knobel's Amusement Park which went phenomenal. Every photo Tassia took was amazing, I still get compliments on them. My husband and I both chose one thing that was important to us for our wedding, he chose food and I chose photography. We made those things a priority and compromised on other things. I can not express how wonderful it was to have Tassia and John there for us on our wedding day.

t so great! On the wedding day, I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. We were running late due to my hair stylist and ran so much out of time we couldn't do our planned first look photos. I was so upset and stressed out from running late and she was there for me the whole time. She knew how important it was for me to at least quickly see my groom before the ceremony and my wedding coordinator wasn't going to even allow us 5 minutues together, but Danielle pulled her aside and convinced her otherwise and I got to have my few moments with him as well as the first look photos I've always wanted. That meant the world to me and I'm so thankful for her doing that. She was so great throughout the ceremony and reception getting all sorts of shots and only pulling us away briefly to get our couple pictures since we couldn't before the ceremony. I'm so thankful for her and sooo happy i went with Birds of a Feather.

e were making the right decision. They are genuinely excited about what they do want nothing more than to make sure they capture your day exactly how you'd want it. Nikki was our photographer for the day and she did a phenomenal job. She and Rachael were both so great to work with and made sure we got all the shots we wanted in a fun, stress-free way. There are a lot of moments from your wedding day that you'll remember but so many that you'll miss. They captured all those moments and now we can relive the best day of our lives every day.
